The wronged pack’s howls for justice echoed through every territory. Public opinion among the wolf communities turned viciously against them. Without proper reparations, not only would Silvana face exile, but Thorne’s position as Alpha would be forfeit.
But they had nothing left to offer in compensation. In desperation, Thorne decided to sell his most precious possession – his sacred artifact–crafting knowledge.
That night, Thorne lay sleepless in his den. This craft was his legacy, his life’s work. How could he part with it? But there was no other choice. He blamed Silvana’s foolishness for dragging him down, end burned with resentment that Rayne wouldn’t help despite their history.

Frantic, Thorne prowled the territories, demanding to know who dared challenge him, who would dare release this new craft at such a crucial moment.

Only now did he understand – his monopoly on artifact crafting had lasted so long because Soren had held back, unwilling to see Rayne struggle while mated to a less successful Alpha. The SilverFang Pack had the superior craft all along but had chosen not to compete.
But now that Thorne had betrayed Rayne, Soren no longer showed mercy.
Thorne collapsed in his workshop, the truth crushing him like mountain stone. So many of his “brilliant” innovations had been quietly guided by Soren’s knowledge. Their friendship had run so deep that Soren had helped from the shadows, letting Thorne take the glory.
He buried his face in his hands, his wolf howling in despair. What had he done? He’d destroyed everything with his own claws!
“Where’s the payment?” Silvana burst into his workshop demanding compensation. The dead wolf’s pack was going mad with grief, their rage barely contained by the Pack Council. Without blood price paid soon, she feared becoming their next victim.
“It’s gone. Everything’s gone!”
