Chapter 20
Lorik and I played our roles as a loving couple, exchanging smiles and affectionate glances.
Caroline’s happiness was palpable as she watched us. She recounted the pain of her past, her voice quivering with emotion as she spoke of her failed marriage and her son’s estrangement.
“I just want to make sure you’re happy, Shirley,” she said, her eyes wet with tears. “Lorik, you need to treat her well. She deserves all the happiness in the world. Caroline looked at both of us and then
towards Lorik
always wanted you to be a better person. To be a person who is loving and giving unlike your father who is just a cold hearted person and would do anything for power
She stopped when she mentioned him and then asked again?
“BTW how is Andrew doing?
She casually mentioned Lorik’s father’s name, as if he doesn’t matter anymore”
“He is contesting as an elder in werewolves council” Lorik replied while looking down…
Caroline sneered and said
“he was always so full of ambition, back then when he gave me up to become Alpha, and it amazes me that he hasn’t asked you to sacrifice your Luna for a woman who can better help his campaign
now.
Lorik and I were both silent…
The mood shifted slightly when Caroline noticed that I wasn’t wearing my wedding ring. “Where your ring, dear?” she asked, her voice laced with concern.
I hesitated, unsure how to explain. Before I could respond, Lorik reached into his pocket and produced the wedding ring I had sold.
He placed it back on my finger with a solemn expression. “Shirley must have forgotten to bring it back last night,” he said. I made sure to get it back for her.”
The gesture was intimate and deeply meaningful. Lorik’s eyes held a gaze that almost made me believe in the reality of our supposed love.
Go My Alpha. Ha Koelt in Reppet
s the evening came to an end, Caroline bid us farewell with a warm kiss on the cheek. Tm looking forward to the next time we can all be together,” she said, her voice filled with hope.
In the car, the atmosphere was heavy with silence. I finally broke it, voicing my concerns. “Torik, you should have told Caroline the truth. It’s going to be difficult for her when she finds out we’re separating.” And with that I took off the ring to put it on the dashboard.
Lorik’s expression was serious as he pulled the car over to the side of the road. He took my hand gently, removing the ring I had just taken off and placing it back on my finger. I’m not giving up. Shirley,” he said firmly. “Tm backing out of the divorce. Come back and continue to be my Luna.”
His words hung in the air, a stark declaration that left me grappling with a whirlwind of emotions. The decision to continue living a lie, the complexities of our relationship, and the looming threat of
Divorce all collided in a chaotic storm within me.
The air was thick with tension as Lorik’s words hung between us. I shook my head, a wry smile escaping my lips despite the frustration boiling inside me. “I’m not going to be the woman you keep hidden away in the human world.”
Lorik’s silence stretched, and he looked away for a moment. When he spoke, his voice was firm.
“It’s not about keeping a mistress. Even without the wolf, you remain Silvermoon’s Luna.”
His claim should have reassured me, but instead, it only deepened the chasm between us. Days ago, I might have been moved by his words, but everything had changed. My resolve was clear now–I no longer wanted to be his Luna.
“Why?” I pressed, my voice steady despite the turmoil. “Is it because you’re afraid of becoming like your father, or are you trying to avoid your mother’s expectations?”
Lorik’s brow furrowed deeply, and he seemed at a loss for words. I could see the conflict in his eyes, but it wasn’t enough. “Lorik,” I said, disappointment lacing my tone, “you don’t understand what love truly is.”
Lorik’s frustration was palpable.”
And do you understand?” he shot back. “Did you ever truly love me, or was it all just duty and
obligation?”
“Yes,” I answered, my voice breaking with emotion. I took a deep pause. He was watching me like his eyes were in disbelief and that he wasn’t expecting a thorough response from me.. I continued..
“I loved you with all my heart. But that love ended the moment I discovered your betrayal.”
After I Let Go My Alpha. He knelt in Regret

face was a picture of disbelief and confusion. He reached out to me, but I was already pushing open the car door and stepping out.
“Shirley!” Lorik called, his voice growing distant as I walked away. I wasn’t interested in further
confrontation.
