Chapter 50
Lorik’s face remained impassive, his eyes cold and unyielding as they met hers. “Protect your family?” he repeated, his tone laced with disbelief. “By lying and trying to shift the blame onto someone else? That’s not protection, Alice. That’s cowardice.”
“His words hit her like a physical blow, and I saw her flinch, her expression crumbling into one of
desperation. “But you don’t understand!” she pleaded, her voice rising in panic. “She’s manipulating
you, can’t you see? She’s always been a liar, a–a bastard who doesn’t deserve anything!”
The venom In her words caught everyone off guard, and for a moment, the room was silent. Alice’s voice had grown loud enough to echo off the walls, reaching the ears of everyone present. Her eyes were wild now, driven by a mixture of anger and fear, as if she could somehow salvage her
situation by discrediting me further.
But before anyone could react, the door to the classroom swung open, and Ethan Winter entered,
flanked by the headmaster. The fury in his eyes was unmistakable as he took in the scene before him. He had heard Alice’s outburst, and the rage simmering beneath his calm exterior was palpable.
“Who dares speak of my daughter in such a manner?” Ethan’s voice thundered, filling the room with
a power that left no room for argument. His gaze locked onto Alice, who visibly paled under his scrutiny. All the bravado she had mustered just moments before drained from her face, leaving behind only fear and regret.
No one in the classroom could have predicted that Ethan Winter would make an appearance at school that day. The moment he entered, a wave of astonishment rippled through the room.
Whispers spread like wildfire, and before long, nearly everyone had their phones out, capturing the unexpected sight. After all, it wasn’t every day that a world–renowned pianist and one of the school’s most influential shareholders graced the classroom with his presence.
Ethan Winter cut an imposing figure as he strode in, his expression clouded by a subtle gloom that only enhanced his striking features. He was a man in his prime, his dark hair streaked with hints of silver that only added to his mature allure. His eyes, a deep shade of blue, were sharp and calculating, yet there was a certain melancholy that lingered in them–a shadow born from years of pouring his soul into the music he played.
Dressed in a tailored black suit that perfectly complemented his somber aura, Ethan exuded an air of authority and mystery that captivated everyone in the room.
The headmaster, who had followed closely behind him, was visibly flustered, his usual composed demeanor replaced with a mixture of anxiety and frustration. “What’s going on here?” the

didn’t take long for the truth to come to light. Ethan Winter, aside from being a celebrated musician, was also one of the school’s key shareholders. The very building they were standing in had been constructed thanks to his generous donations.
The realization hit hard–Ethan’s daughter had been discriminated against in a school he had helped fund. The implications were severe; if Ethan decided to withdraw his financial support in anger, the consequences for the school would be dire.
Alice and her parents, who had been so sure of themselves moments before, now looked visibly shaken. Panic flickered in their eyes as they quickly tried to backtrack.
It’s not what it seems, Mr. Winter,” Morpheus stammered, his voice laced with desperation. “There’s been a misunderstanding.”
Alice, tears now streaming down her cheeks, turned to Lorik in a last–ditch effort to save face. “Lorik, please,” she begged, her voice quivering. “You know I didn’t mean any harm. You have to believe
me!”
But Lorik’s response was as cold as ice. “You still want help?” he retorted, his voice dripping with
contempt. “If it weren’t for my Luna dissuading me, I might’ve killed you myself. You’ve spent years bullying her, pretending to be kind to her in front of me, manipulating our relationship to the point
where I was blinded by your lies.
Even when she was just a child, too weak to fend off your abuse, she was forced to flee to the human
world to survive. You nearly destroyed her.”
His words cut deep, and I felt a pang in my chest as the realization washed over me. I had always
known that Alice and her cronies despised me, but I never fully grasped the extent of the damage
they had inflicted on my life and my relationship with Lorik. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but the truth had finally come to light.
As if sensing my inner turmoil, Lorik reached out and gently took my hand in his. The touch was.
soft, almost imperceptible, but the gesture spoke volumes. It was a quiet, yet undeniable, declaration
of his commitment to me. “I will treat you well from now on, my Luna,” he murmured, his voice
warm and reassuring.
The room erupted in murmurs and gasps as the significance of Lorik’s words sank in. No one had
expected me to be Ethan Winter’s daughter, and certainly not the Luna of Lorik, the man many had once written off as broken and worthless. I could feel the weight of the stares, the mixture of envy and disbelief, but it no longer bothered me.
The peaceful school life I had once hoped for was now an impossibility. I was destined for

hat car is a limited edition, with only five in the world. Repairing it requires shipping it to Sweden. The $800,000 compensation is just for the repairs,” Ethan said coldly. “Adding the transportation costs and the time wasted for me and Shirley, the price is far from that. Aren’t you going to apologize and admit your mistake?”
