Chapter 57
The tension was thick in the air, a palpable force that made my heart race as I stood frozen, caught between Lorik and Narik. Their eyes were locked in a fierce battle of wills, the glow of Lorik’s red eyes illuminating the anger that burned inside him. The amusement park, once a place of joy and laughter, now felt like the stage for an impending storm.
With a low growl, Lorik’s fist shot out, connecting with Narik’s jaw with a sickening thud. The force of the punch sent Narik crashing to the ground, the impact echoing through the air. Lorik’s voice, dripping with venom, cut through the tension like a knife.
swear, if it wasn’t for the fact that you’re my brother, I’d kill you,” Lorik snarled, his voice filled with a mixture of rage and frustration.
Narik lay on the ground, his chest heaving, but his face showed no sign of pain. Instead, he wore a provocative smirk, the kind that could infuriate anyone. Slowly, he pushed himself up, his eyes never leaving Lorik’s.
“What do you know about Shirley, Lorik? You don’t deserve her,” Narik shot back, his voice dripping with disdain. “Why can’t I come into her life? Why should you be the one to decide?”
Lorik’s fury was palpable, his muscles tensing as he reached down and grabbed Narik by the collar. His grip was tight, and for a moment, I feared he might actually follow through on his earlier threat.
“This is your sister–in–law, Narik!” Lorik spat, his voice low and dangerous. “You’re crazy if you think. I’ll let you anywhere near her!”
Before Lorik could throw another punch, I found myself rushing forward, grabbing his arm in a desperate attempt to pull him back. My voice was shaky, but I had to stop this before it escalated any further.
“Lorik, stop!” I pleaded, my hands trembling as I tried to hold him back. “Please, don’t do this. You’re both strong–if you fight here, who knows what could happen?”
The crowd around us had started to gather, their curious eyes fixated on the unfolding drama. Whispers and murmurs filled the air as people began to recognize who Lorik and Narik were. The situation was spiraling out of control, and the last thing I wanted was for this to become a public spectacle.
Narik sneered as he dusted himself off, standing up with an air of nonchalance. His gaze flickered between me and Lorik, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.

know you two are ready to divorce,” Narik said, his voice calm, yet taunting. “You’re just pretending for your sick mother’s sake. Shirley is free now, Lorik. You have no right to stop me front
ursuing her–not to mention, I know her far better than you ever could.”
The words hung in the air like a dark cloud, and for a moment, it felt as if time had stopped. Lorik’s eyes blazed with fury, but before he could respond, Lorcia, who had been pushed aside earlier, suddenly gasped.
“Lorik,” she cried, her voice trembling with a mix of surprise and hope. “I knew you wouldn’t be so cruel as to reject me!”
She quickly trotted over to Lorik’s side, her eyes filled with triumph as she looked at me, her lips curling into a malicious smile.
“Lorik and I can’t be broken up!” Lorcia shouted, her voice loud enough for everyone to hear. “And to even think of seducing your ex–husband’s brother–you’re such a shameless woman!”
Her accusations were like daggers stabbing at me.
I stood there and looked at her coldly, ‘You didn’t get enough of me last time did you, you don’t have any memory of it?‘
Saying that, I took a step towards her.
Lorcia cringed a bit, obviously a bit scared, and she shook Lorik’s arm pitifully, ‘Lorik, look! She tried to do it to me again, what a violent person.‘
“Fuck off!” Lorik suddenly shouted, shaking off Lorcia’s hand with a force that startled everyone. His voice was filled with an intensity that made everyone around us flinch. “Get away from me, or there’s no need to negotiate the contract!”
Lorcia recoiled as if she had been slapped, her face contorted with shock and hurt. She took a step back, her eyes wide with disbelief.
“Lorik, you never used to be so mean to me…” she whispered, her voice breaking as she looked at him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
But Lorik wasn’t having any of it. His face was a mask of barely restrained fury, his jaw clenched so tightly that the muscles in his neck stood out. He turned to me, and the anger in his eyes softened, replaced by something that looked like heartache. His gaze flickered to the tear tracks that hadn’t yet åried on my cheeks, and for a moment, his whole demeanor seemed to shift.
