She swallowed and said, “We should leave. He’s killed someone, and the police won’t let this slide.” 

Chloe knew that now William had returned to the country, he wouldn’t care about anything left unresolved here. 

Even if the driver went to jail, William would be safe and secure, living his new life much better than that of a chef. 

She had once believed that William truly loved his career.

Back at the villa, it took Chloe a while to compose herself.

steer clear of him,” Candy said.

This comment earned him a glare from Candy. “All you think about is food.” 

“And what about all the snacks I had? You ate them all. How do you have the nerve to call me out?” James retorted. 

Candy blushed. She had indeed eaten all of James’s snacks after her recent breakup. 

“Today’s takeout is from a five–star hotel, so it shouldn’t taste bad,” she said. 

Chloe shook her head, trying to get the two to stop bickering. 

Then she turned to James and asked, “Why do you always have something to argue about with everyone?” 

First, it was Michael, and now it was Candy. It looked like he couldn’t survive without quarreling.
