Chapter 68
At 10 am, the next morning, Leia, who was dressed impeccably from head to toe, arrived at the Hampstone Hotel
The receptionist immediately recognized her. “Ms. Martin, good morning. How can I assist you today?”

“I have an appointment with Mr. West. Please tell him to meet me in the lobby,” Leia said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
The receptionist quickly picked up the phone and called the general manager’s office for confirmation, then relayed the message. “Ms. Martin, please wait a moment. Mr. West will be here shortly”
Leia was the daughter of the Martin family and the fiancée of Ryan. Given their status, the hotel was more than willing to show some respect.
Soon, Vincent, dressed in a sharp suit, walked over. “Ms. Martin, what a pleasant surprise! It’s rare to see you here. Please, let us bring you a drink.”
“I’ll have a coffee, latte. Make sure Doris brings it to me,” Leia ordered, naming exactly who she wanted to deliver it.
Everyone in the room was taken aback.
Leia was Ryan’s fiancée, while Doris was his ex. Moreover, Doris had been seen in a private meeting with Ryan at the hotel yesterday. Now Leia was here today.
This was so dramatic. Everyone guessed that Leia was here
give Doris a hard time.
Vincent, used to high–pressure situations, kept his smile in place. “Of course, I’ll arrange it.”
He quietly whispered something to his assistant, who then went to carry out the request.
When Doris received the message, she made her way toward her, their gazes sharp and curious.

her. “Doris, over here.”
Doris approached and, after Vincent’s prompting, placed the coffee in front of Leia. “Ms. Martin, please enjoy.”
“Mr. West, I’ll excuse myself to attend to work,” Doris said, starting to turn away.
“Stop,” Leia barked.
Doris froze. “Ms. Martin, is there something else you need?”
Without warning, Leia grabbed the coffee and threw it at Doris.
Doris had anticipated this. Quick on her feet, she used the round tray she was holding to block most of the coffee, but some of it still splashed onto Leia’s face and clothes.
“Ah…” Leia cried out as the hot coffee burned her skin. The scalding liquid felt like tiny flames licking at her body.
Leia hadn’t expected this. The pain and humiliation sent waves of fury through her. “Doris, you filthy woman!” she screamed, her face flushed with rage.
“Ms. Martin, what goes around comes around,” Doris replied calmly, not fazed in the least.
Leia was seething with anger, her blood boiling at Doris‘ calmness. Furious, Leia threw her coffee cup at Doris. The cup

shattered on the floor, but Doris remained untouched.
Leia, her eyes blazing, pointed at Doris. “Mr. West, I’m filing a complaint. Your pastry chef, Doris, shamelessly tried to seduce my fiancé, Ryan.”
Vincent, always aware of the gossip around him, raised an eyebrow. “Ms. Martin, do you have any evidence?”
“I have both evidence and witnesses,” Leia said, pulling out a photo from her Chanel bag and slamming it onto the table. “And I saw with my own eyes that Doris and my fiancé were alone in a room together,”
Vincent picked up the photo and glanced at it. It showed several pictures of Doris and Ryan together, but none of them were overly intimate.
Still, Ryan was engaged and a top executive at Watson Group. The fact that he had an ex like Doris, coupled with the circumstances, led people to jump to conclusions.
Just then, Lily stepped forward, eager to add fuel to the fire. “Mr. West, last night I brought wine to Mr. Watson’s room, and I saw them being very close.
“She dares to do it, but I can barely bring myself to talk about it. As a colleague of Doris, I’m disgusted by her behavior as a mistress who ruins relationships and families.”
Lily shot a glance at Doris, a smug smile spreading across her face. This was a deal she’d made with Leia. She’d provide the testimony in exchange for a chance to crush Doris.
Lily didn’t care what she had to do as long as it meant getting Doris down.
“Mr. West, I want this employee fired. She has no business working here with that kind of behavior,” Leia said, her voice icy as she glared at Doris, her eyes sharp as knives, wishing she could tear her apart.
Doris faced Leia’s hate–filled gaze with unwavering composure. She had nothing to feel guilty about, and not an ounce of fear or guilt surfaced in her heart.
But the fact that Leia was trying to undermine her job stirred a storm inside Doris. She didn’t want to lose her position.
Leia was attempting to crush her, while Lily, seizing the opportunity, fully sided with Leia, pressuring Vincent.
Lily spoke up. “Mr. West, I completely agree with Ms. Martin’s proposal. Doris‘ shameless behavior has caused serious harm to our hotel’s reputation. If everyone followed Doris‘ example, mistresses would be running rampant.
“I hope you take strict action and fire Doris. Announce her dismissal to warn others, so she doesn’t ruin anyone else’s life. She doesn’t deserve any sympathy; she should be banned.”
After Lily’s words, Leia added her own, “Mr. West, as the leader of the hotel, are you going to take responsibility or not? If you don’t, I’ll have to resort to other methods to protect my rights.
“I’ll accept an interview with a journalist and discuss this matter in detail. Both the Martin and Watson Groups will terminate their partnership with your hotel. Mr. West, the ball is in your court.”
Vincent West tried to calm Leia down. “Ms. Martin, please remain patient. I will give you a satisfactory response.”
“I’ll be waiting right here for your response. My patience is limited, and time is ticking,” Leia said arrogantly, her tone dripping with superiority.
Leia’s real goal was to force Vincent to fire Doris, a way to vent her frustration.
Compared to Doris, Leia was far more important. Doris was just an ordinary employee; firing her wouldn’t be difficult at all.
Vincent finally spoke. “Doris, do you have anything to say?”

Of course, Doris had something to say. She looked at Leia, who was using her power and status to suppress her, but Doris remained dignified.
She began. “Ms. Martin, yes, I met with Ryan, but our relationship is completely innocent. It’s nothing like what you’re implying. You should know the truth yourself, don’t you?
“Do you really think that just because you have money and power, you can trample on me? I have nothing to hide, and I’ve done no wrong in my work. Mr. West, if you decide to fire me because of this, I won’t accept it.”
“Mr. West, Doris is stubborn and refuses to repent, Lily added, adding fuel to the fire.
Doris took out her phone, swiped it open, and played a voice message from Ryan. “Lily tried to seduce me… she’s disgusting. I kicked her out of the car. Stay away from her. She’s filthy.”
Lily’s face turned bright red with embarrassment, and under the mocking gazes of those around her, she couldn’t hide her shame.
Lily glared at Doris, her eyes full of venom, wishing she could tear Doris apart. “Doris, you’ve ruined me.”
“Lily, those who do bad will eventually bring destruction upon themselves,” Doris said, the corners of her lips curling up in a slight, satisfied smile.
Leia’s smile froze, and she clenched her fists, trying to restrain herself. Even though she wanted to take action against Lily, now wasn’t the time.
Lily, trembling, quickly tried to explain to Leia.
“Ms. Martin, that was a long time ago. I had been drinking and was foolish. I’ve already come to my senses and no longer have any feelings for Mr. Watson. Please believe me. Don’t let Doris turn us against each other.”
“I won’t pursue something that’s already in the past,” Leia said with a forced smile, trying to appear magnanimous.
“Thank you, Ms. Martin,” Lily said, almost as if she had been granted a pardon, her tone filled with gratitude.
Leia, however, was clear about her priorities. “Doris, don’t try to shift the focus. Mr. West, let’s move forward.”
