Chapter 27
CARINA
I heard another knock on the door. I glanced at the clock and wondered if it was time to go down.
“It’s still pretty early.” I muttered,
“Who is it?” I asked.
The person did not respond right away. “It’s Tim,” he said after a while, clearing his throat.
“Oh,” I muttered. “Is there anything you need?”
“Nothing,” he responded. “I’m just wondering if I could enter.”
I pursed my lips, hesitating on what to do before I agreed.
“Umm, sure,” I said. “Is Falco there with you?”
“No,” he said. “Luna Selene would kill me if I allowed that to happen.”
I chuckled and shook my head. “That’s true.”
“Well, the door is open. You can enter now,” I said.
He entered the room with his gaze on the ground. I shook my head in amusement when he didn’t look at me right away.
This was the reason why I let him in. We may not be considered as friends, but Tim had always been a great confidant. He never gave any preferential treatment to Natalia, too.
Well, Carter was the same, but he

tad too playful for my liking.
Finally, he lifted his head, and I heard how his breath got caught in the back of my throat.
I smiled at him. Even if I

“How do I look?” I asked.

I nodded and smoothed out the skirt of my dress. “Thanks,” I said. “I really appreciate it. The glam team did a great job, didn’t they?”
“It’s not the glam team,” he suddenly said.
“Hmm?”
“I mean, you look beautiful without them, too,” he added. “You always were. You just look ethereal right now.”
“Oh,” I muttered, pursing my lips and avoiding his gaze. “Thanks. Might as well look good for this day, huh?”
Just then, he chuckled, making me turn to him again.
“You really don’t get it, do you?” he asked.

“What?” I shot back.
“Nothing.” he said, shaking his head. “Falco is really lucky. Well, I’m heading back now. Your parents would be the ones to fetch you.”
I nodded, not feeling excited about that aspect.
“I’ll see you later,” he said, shutting the door.
FALCO
“It’s taking so long,” I muttered, massaging the bridge of my nose.
“Just enjoy it, man,” Carter said. “You should be more nervous now.”
I shook my head.
Just then, the door opened, revealing Tim with a small smile on his lips.
Carter stood and nudged his shoulder with a smirk while Tim closed the door.
“How was it? You didn’t see her, right?” he teased.
I also looked at Tim, but he was already staring at me. He had a teasing look in his eyes as he smiled.
“She looks beautiful,” he said.
Carter paused and stepped back, narrowing his eyes in suspicion. Meanwhile, my eyebrows slightly raised.
“She let you in?” Carter asked.
“Hmm,” Tim hummed. “I didn’t expect my breath to get taken away. Rina’s really pretty, huh?”
“I’ve been telling this to you since forever,” Carter said. “If you stare at her more, she looks even more beautiful.”
“You’re right,” Tim agreed.
I clicked my tongue. “So now, you guys are staring at my wife?”
The two of them turned to me with confused expressions.
“So, she’s your wife now, huh?” Tin
“Soon to be,” I muttered.
said, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
“I thought this wasn’t real,” Carter said.
I clicked my tongue. “Still, for formalities, you guys shouldn’t do that. What would it look like to the pack?”
Carter raised his hands in surrender. Meanwhile, Tim merely smirked.
“Got it, Alpha,” Carter said.
Just then, the door opened, and it now revealed my dad, looking dapper in his suit.
Carter let out a low whistle. “Dang, Alpha Raven. You still look as young as us!”

My dad clicked his tongue. “Carter, I swear. You won’t be getting any pocket money from me.”
Carter jokingly sighed in disappointment.
Then, my dad turned to me, giving me a small nod of approval.
“You ready?” he asked.
I cleared my throat and nodded. “Yes.”
“Alright,” he said. “Let’s go down. The ceremony will start in a few minutes.”

I nodded once more and followed him down the garden. The entire pack was invited. However, those near the podium were our close friends and family.
I wanted it to be a simple wedding, but my mom took it up a notch.
“Alpha,” they greeted and bowed as I walked to the front.
I nodded in acknowledgment, my head held high and my posture straight.
I finally arrived in front of the altar with Carter behind me. Tim and my parents sat at the front. My mom was already tearing up, making me shake my head.
Meanwhile, as I waited for Rina to arrive, I looked around. For the people who supposedly didn’t want this wedding to happen, it sure looked like they were enjoying themselves.
Just then, the pastor arrived, greeting me.
I bowed my head before turning to face the front once more.
He tapped on the microphone before speaking. “May we ask everybody to settle down?”
With his statement, the entire garden became silent. They settled in their seat and craned their necks around.
“Thank you,” the pastor said. “We will now be starting the marriage ceremony.”
Soft music played in the background, and the breeze suddenly intensified. However, it wasn’t cold. It was better since I felt my palms sweating all of a sudden.
I wiped them on my trousers, finding it weird how my heart was beating fast, too.
My focus was on the end of the runway, waiting for the moment for her to arrive. It felt like an eternity.
And then, she finally appeared.
