Chapter 733 Leaving
Before Chandler went out, he pulled Meryl into his arms.
“Do you want anything? I can bring you a gift from my trip.”
Meryl looked at him calmly. “There’s nothing I need. The child seems to be crying. I’ll go check on him. Since you’re heading to Englord, I won’t see you off.”
She took a step back, slipping out of his embrace, and turned to tend to the baby.
Chandler’s face softened with a hint of helplessness.
He glanced at her one last time before reluctantly closing the door. “Meryl, wait for me at home. I’ll be back in three days at most.”
The room fell silent.
Meryl stared at the closed door.
Her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
She thought, “Three days? By then, I would likely no longer be in Kingsdom.”

In the afternoon, the nanny decided to bathe the baby while the weather was warm.
But as she undressed the child, she froze.
“Huh?”
She noticed the scar on Marlon’s chest.
She was certain it hadn’t been there before. When the baby had first come home from the hospital, his skin had been smooth and unmarked.
How could a surgical scar suddenly appear?
The nanny’s heart raced.
The Aniston family doted on their newborn son.
If anything happened to the child under her care, she would be held responsible.
Just the thought of it made her break out in a cold sweat.
She decided to keep it to herself, acting as if nothing was wrong.
When Lydia came to see the baby, the nanny quickly dressed him.
Lydia raised an eyebrow. “Done already? That was fast.”
The nanny responded, “I’ve cared for hundreds of babies. I’m
Chapter 733 Leaving quite efficient.”

Seeing Lydia coming in, the nanny quickly covered the scar on the child’s chest with clothes.
Lydia didn’t think much about it.
She had never been particularly attached to the child, after all.
It was Meryl’s baby, and Lydia had only ever held him when Dalton was around.
Dalton’s parents weren’t overly fond of the child either, but Dalton seemed to adore him.
In the past few days, he had been carrying the baby everywhere, which meant Lydia had spent more time with him as well.
“Dalton will be back soon. Bring the baby to my room,” Lydia
said.
The nanny hesitated. “But the baby has been playing all morning. He needs to nap.”
Children could only grow well if they slept well, and it was indeed time for him to rest.
Lydia waved her off. “A little delay won’t hurt. He’ll be fine.”
The nanny found it strange.
Most mothers were overly protective of their children, but Lydia
Chapter 733 Leaving seemed indifferent.

But after all, it was Lydia’s own child, so she couldn’t say much.
As Lydia walked past Meryl with the baby in her arms, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction.
Meryl would never guess that she had swapped their babies back at the hospital.
Lydia said with a smug smile, “Meryl, I heard that your son has a heart condition. Look at this one, how healthy it is.”
Meryl remained calm, her expression unreadable. “Congratulations.”
Lydia’s smile widened. “I just wanted to remind you that heart issues are serious. I’d hate for your son to… not make it.”
With that, she walked off, her face full of mockery.
Meryl glanced down at the baby in her arms.
A whole night had passed, and Lydia hadn’t noticed a thing. The switch had been successful.
Finally, Meryl was able to relax.
Her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. It was Felix. She stepped aside to answer the call.

After leaving the Aniston Villa, Chandler headed to the office to gather some documents for his trip.
Walter had gone to pick up Rachel from the hospital, and they would meet at the airport later. Since their flight wasn’t until evening, there was no rush.
Just then, Freya came in to deliver some documents. As Chandler caught a whiff of her perfume, he suddenly knew what gift to bring Meryl from Englord.
Meryl should like the perfume brand Jo Malone very much. But perfume alone wouldn’t be enough.
Remembering that Meryl and Freya had been close when Meryl worked at Galaxy Holdings Group, he asked Freya to compile a list of skincare products Meryl might like. He would purchase them one by one.
Freya handed him the list, her voice tinged with envy. “Mr. Aniston, you’re so thoughtful.”
Not many husbands went to such lengths for their wives.
Chandler folded the list and tucked it into his suit pocket.
“Get back to work,” he said dismissively.
Freya turned and left.
Chandler saw that it was almost time and prepared to set off for

the airport.
But as soon as he stood up, his left eyelid twitched uncontrollably.

He rubbed his temple, brushing it off as stress, and grabbed his briefcase.
On the way to the airport, Chandler tried calling Meryl to update her on his plans, but the call didn’t go through.
So he called Harrison, the housekeeper.
“Where’s my wife?” he asked.
“She is not at home. She went out at noon.”
Hearing this, Chandler’s eyelids suddenly twitched even more violently.
“Where did she go? Did she ask the driver to take her there?”
“Her brother came to pick her up. They took the baby for a checkup.”
Chandler thought, “The baby had just been discharged from the hospital the day before. Why another checkup? Something felt off.”
Worried that the baby’s heart condition might have worsened, he told the driver to pull over.

The driver said, “Mr. Aniston, we’re five minutes from the airport. Ms. Morgan is waiting.”
Chandler leaned back in his seat, his expression grim.

Despite his mixed feelings about the child, he couldn’t ignore the possibility that something was wrong.
He quickly dialed Walter. “Find out which hospital Meryl took the baby to.”
As he hung up, a plane roared overhead, its shadow passing swi
