Chapter 27
Leo left, instructing Chris to handle the media today, as he didn’t want any news about him appearing online.
Matilda quickly caught up and said, “Leo, I’m sorry, I didn’t expect the wedding to turn out like this.”
She had called Leo here in the hope that he would be impressed by the luxurious wedding and perhaps decide to marry her.
Little did she know that a grand evening would lead to such a major change.
“Leo, let’s go to the hospital first. Why did you protect Sophie just now? What’s your relationship with her?” Matilda asked carefully.
She had never seen Leo help anyone before, and when he rushed to protect Sophie, her heart sank.
“No relationship,” Leo replied coldly.
Matilda didn’t believe him. “If there’s no relationship, why did you protect her just now?”
Leo paused and gave Matilda a warning look. “Do I need to explain my actions to you?”
“I… I didn’t mean it that way. I’m just worried about you,” Matilda replied, trying to appear pitiful and
wronged.
She couldn’t catch up to him and could only watch Leo leave.
This man had never stayed with her, no matter how hard she tried to catch up with him.
Even if she couldn’t have him, she wouldn’t let anyone else have him.
It was unexpected that Sophie, who had just arrived, could make Leo come to her aid.
If Sophie is just about Michaels family, that’s easy to deal with.
Matilda’s face was filled with malice as she vowed to make Sophie disappear from this world.
Leo got into the car, and Chris quickly called a doctor to remove the shards of glass from his arm.
He wasn’t the type to casually help others, and at the time, he hadn’t thought too much about why he helped Sophie.
If the glass bottle had hit her, Sophie would have been seriously injured.
Chapter 27
Perhaps it was because she was now cooperating with Walton Group or because she was the granddaughter of an old friend of his grandmother.
But he hadn’t expected that the princess brought back by the Hades family five years ago was actually from the Michaels family in Georgia.
And when the people from the Michaels family saw Sophie, they seemed quite surprised.
Leo leaned back in his seat, his gaze outside the window, as if deep in thought.
Also, when he held Sophie just now, why did it feel strangely familiar?
Sophie had come to offer her congratulations, and now that the congratulations were over, it was time to
leave.
“Erika, I’m back. Are you happy?” Sophie smiled, in stark contrast to Erika’s expression, which looked as if she wanted to tear her apart.
“Your wedding is truly unforgettable.”
Erika lunged forward. “I’ll kill you. I’ll kill you!”
With Leo’s recent words in mind, how could Daniel let Erika harm Sophie? He stopped Erika and said, “Erika, you can’t offend the current Sophie!”
“Dad, do you expect me to just stand by and let her bully me?”
Seeing his daughter like this, Daniel felt heartache. “How could I? You’re my most beloved daughter.”
Watching the display of fatherly love, Sophie’s heart turned cold.
Had Daniel forgotten about her completely during these six years? After her accident, had he ever looked
for her?
This scene pierced her heart, and Sophie turned away, leaving without any emotion.
