Doris recognized Danie and introduced him to Peyton “Mom, this is Lewis brother, Danis. He’s a doctor.
“Hello” Danis was polite.
“Hello,” Peyton smiled.
“Did you need something? Doris looked at the middle–aged woman. “Who is she?”
Doris, the surgery is the day after tomorrow. She’ll need professional care. This is Amy, a very skilled and experienced caregiver. She’s taken care of many patients with conditions like your mom. You can rest easy with her around,” Danis explained.
Doris thought Danis made a good point. After all, their experience was no match for a professional caregiver.
“Danis, thank you.” Doris lowered her voice. “How much will the salary be?”
“Lewis has already paid for it,” Danis said honestly.
“You mean he arranged this?”
“Yes,”
Doris fell silent. Lewis was always more thoughtful and quicker than her, sparing her the worry.
“Mom, what do you think?” Doris still respected Peyton’s opinion.
“I think it’s a good idea. Peyton had seen how hard Doris and Laura had been working. “You girls have your own lives to live. Go focus on your own things.
With that settled, Doris could finally go home.
Doris and Danis took the elevator down together.
“Doris, is Lewis picking you up?” Danis asked casually.
“I can go back by myself.” Doris didn’t want to trouble Lewis.
“I’m off work now. I can drop you off on my way,” Danis suggested. “Otherwise, if I let you go home alone, my brother will scold me.”
“Alright then. Thank you, Danis,” Doris agreed gladly.
“Doris, we’re family. No need to thank me,” Danis said generously.

The two got into Danis‘ white BMW, and half an hour later, they arrived at Greenlake Hill.
“Danis, thank you for driving me back. Your brother should be home by now. Why don’t you come in and stay for dinner?” Doris invited Danis, wanting to thank him.
“In that case, I’ll gladly accept.” Danis‘ eyes sparkled with amusement.
Today, he could finally see how his brother was being “disciplined” by Doris.

Don’s led Danis wptairs. As soon as she opened the door. Biscuit ran over, rubbing against Doris affectionately.
Doris bent down and patted its head. “Be good today, we have a guest”
“Biscuit, over here?‘ Danis leaned out from behind Doris and called to Biscuit.
Biscuit recognized Danis as a familiar face and happily bounded over.
Dari picked up Biscuit and weighed it in his arms. “Biscuit, you’ve gained weight. Time to go on a diet.”
“Danis, make yourself at home Doris warmly welcomed Danis
“Doris, you’re back: Arianna, who had been watching cartoons in the living room, ran over to Doris.
Doris ruffled her hair and pointed at Danis. “This is Danis, Lewis‘ brother?
“Danis, nice to see you here,” Arianna called out sweetly.
Danis said, “Me too.”
Laura, who had been cooking in the kitchen, heard the commotion and came out to see Danis. “Dr. Hartman, you’re here.”
She had already met Lewis at the hospital through Doris and knew he was Lewis‘ brother. “Danis, hello.”
Danis said, “Hello, Laura”
Doris asked Danis, “What would you like to drink? Water, coffee, or juice?”
Danis put Biscuit down and said, “Water”
“I’ll get it.” Laura went back to the kitchen and brought Danis a bottle of purified water.
“Danis, make yourself at home. I’m going to change my clothes.” Doris went back to her room and changed into a loose set of home clothes. When she came out, she saw Arianna and Danis chatting. “Ari, help Doris take good care of Danis, okay?”
“No problem; leave it to me.” Arianna patted her chest.
As soon as she finished speaking, the sound of the door opening was heard.
Lewis walked over and saw Danis. “Danis, what are you doing here?”
“Well–Danis stood up, feeling a bit nervous in front of his older brother.
“I ran into Danis when I left the hospital. He gave me a ride home, so I invited him to stay for dinner,” Doris explained. “Lewis, keep Danis company. Ari is also in your care. I’m going to help Laura with dinner.” After giving her instructions, Doris headed straight to the kitchen.
Doris walked over and started picking snow peas while saying, “Laura, how was the job hunting today?”
When the topic of job hunting came up, Laura shook her head. “Matteo was right. It’s really hard to find a job these days. I was mentally prepared, but I didn’t expect it to be this tough. With my skills and experience, finding a job is really difficult.”
“Laura, the beginning is always the hardest. You’ve already taken the most difficult first step. Let’s take it slow, no rush.” Doris could imagine the difficulty but still comforted Laura. “We’ll take any job that comes our way, no pickiness.”
“I know. I won’t give up. For Ari, I can endure any hardship.” Laura glanced toward the living room, where only Arianna’s bright smile could give her endless strength.

In the living room, Lewis was helping Arianna draw a small dog on paper with her right hand.

Danis leaned over and got closer to Lewis. “I see you really like kids. Why don’t you and Doris have one?
“Do I need you to arrange that for me?” Lewis‘ thin lips curled into a sarcastic smile.
“I wouldn’t dare.” Danis didn’t have the guts.
“Come with me for a moment.” Lewis got up and walked toward the floor–to–ceiling window,
Danis followed, and Lewis closed the glass door behind thein.
“What are you up to?” Danis found it all quite mysterious.
Lewis picked up a watering can and started watering the plants on the balcony. “I remember you have a place in Green Wonders.”
“Yeah, it’s close to the hospital, and convenient for work.” Danis leaned against the balcony railing. “I’m moving in next week.”
“Don’t move in. Give the place to me.” Lewis stopped him.
“Why? That’s my new place. I just got it.” Danis was puzzled.
“I have a use for it.” Lewis stopped what he was doing and looked at Danis. “Tell me which place you want, and I’ll buy it for you.”
“I want to live in your Sulnell Hill. Is that okay?” Danis made an excessive request.
Lewis‘ Sulnell Hill was a top–tier luxury garden–style villa. Only people with a high status could be allowed in.
“Fine,” Lewis agreed without hesitation, as he didn’t have time to live there anyway.
Danis couldn’t believe his ears and was stunned. “Are you possessed or something?”
“You’re the one who’s possessed.” Lewis‘ deep voice turned slightly cold. “Just tell me if it’s okay or not.”
Danis said “okay” three times in a row.
“The password is 91586.” After saying that, Lewis put down the watering can.
Danis was still processing everything when Lewis had already opened the glass door and walked back into the living room.
Shortly after, Doris‘ voice was heard. “Wash your hands, it’s time to eat.”
