Chapter 118
Chapter 118
“Married people only have eyes for their wives.” Lewis‘ words made sense.
“There’s too much for me to finish, let’s eat together.” Doris pulled Lola along.
“I’m full from the dog food.” Lola pushed Doris out from behind the counter towards Lewis. “Go do PDA somewhere else.”
Lewis accepted Lola’s kindness, saying to Doris, “Let’s sit over there for a while.”
He picked up the Riverside Canteen paper bag, and Doris followed him to a corner table for two.
Lewis gallantly pulled out a chair for Doris. He then sat down, taking out the takeout boxes from the paper bag: one meat dish, one vegetable dish, and a clam chowder.
“I can’t finish all this by myself.” Doris looked at the generous portions. “Have you eaten?”
“I’ve eaten.” Lewis had just had lunch with Ivan at Riverside Canteen and brought her some food to check on her.

Today was the first day of trial operation for Loris Cafe; with discounts and Lola’s connections, business was sure to be good.
He had Daniel check, and the shop was bustling, they were too busy to touch the ground.
He had thought if business was slow, he would have Daniel order coffee for everyone at Hartman Group, but seeing how busy they were, he decided against it.
And Doris, being so busy, might not eat properly, so he naturally had to come and supervise her.
“Where’s your sister?” Lewis opened the rice box.
“She left at five to pick up Ari and go home.” Doris unwrapped her fork.
Doris ate with her head down, occasionally glancing up at Lewis across from her.
He just stared at her, saying nothing.
Doris felt uncomfortable under his gaze. “Can you not keep staring at me?”
“Can’t I keep looking at my own wife?” Lewis retorted.
“How can I eat like this?” Doris felt pressured.
“You eat, I’ll watch.” Lewis thought nothing of it.
She suddenly put down her fork. “Wait for me a moment.”
She ran to the kitchen, took a small cake from the refrigerator, and brought it over. She gently placed the plate in front of Lewis. “I made this for you, try it.”
“Made for me?” Lewis‘ eyes sparkled with amusement.
“Yes, only one.” Doris nodded, pursing her lips. “No one else gets this special treatment.”
Lewis looked at the bright red strawberry on the cake but didn’t move. He usually didn’t like sweets, never eating cakes, bread, or cookies. Since Doris made it especially for him, it would be rude not to appreciate it.
Lewis looked up to see Doris‘ bright eyes filled with anticipation.

And not far away, Lewis also felt someone’s gaze fixed on them, watching their every move,
“Feed me, and I’ll eat. Lewis leaned forward, deliberately showing affection
Doris‘ pupils dilated, a flush of heat rising to her face, never expecting, the usually servers Lewis to make such a request,
She quickly glanced around. “There are people in the shop”
“You don’t want to?” Lewis asked.
Doris had no choice but to pick up a small spoon, scoop a bit of cake, and feed it into Leww already open mouth.
The cake was smooth, melting in the mouth, rich and sweet, but not overly so, just to his liking,
“How is it?”
“Not bad. Not as sweet as I imagined.”
“I know you don’t like sweets, so I didn’t add much sugar” Doris remembered his dislike for sweet foods.
“Then another bite.” Lewis acted like a child begging for food.
Doris, helpless, scooped another spoonful and fed him.
Before they knew it, half the cake was gone, the most Lewis had ever eaten.
Lewis licked the chocolate off the corner of his mouth with his tongue, a usual action, but when he did it, it was utterly captivating.
Doris, watching this seductive move, felt her heartbeat quicken.
“Who’s that guy?” Lewis‘ magnetic voice reached her ears.
“Who?” Doris was puzzled.
“The man talking to you when I arrived.” He thought that should be clear enough.
“He’s Lola’s childhood friend, helping out at the shop these days,” Doris explained.
“You’re quite familiar with him?”
“Not really. Mr. Wayward is very enthusiastic.”
“You like enthusiastic people?”
“I don’t.” Doris glanced at Lewis. “I don’t like it.”
“Don’t like him or don’t like enthusiasm?” Lewis raised an eyebrow.
“Neither.”
After saying that, Doris picked up her fork and continued eating.
Lewis curled his lips, continuing to stare at Doris until she finished her meal.
Doris was cleaning up the table when Lewis said, “Don’t move.”
“What’s wrong?”

Doris saw Lewis reach out his right hand towards hey, his fingertip brushing the corner of her mouth, the weak of his touch startling her.
On his fingertip was oil. She handed him a tissue. Lewis took it and wiped his fingerp, Dork cales warme
Andy, who had been observing the two, hadn’t taken his eyes off them
Lola casually rested her right forearm on Andy’s shoulder top looking, the couple in deply in lone. The more you look Doris is still married. Besides, Doris wouldn’t leave such a good husband for your
Only then did Andy reluctantly withdraw his gaze. “How long have they been martel
“About two months.” Lola roughly calculated.
Andy pushed Lola’s arm off his shoulder, looking at her with a complaining gaze. Only two months You have such a beautiful friend and you didn’t introduce me earlier? If I had met her first, what would her husband weet?
“Hah, you’re so confident Doris would like you?” Lola snorted coldly, ‘Do you know who Don’s ex–boyfriend is?
“Who?” Andy named his idol. “It couldn’t be the heir of the Hartman family in Hampstone, could it?
“Ryan from Watson Group, Lola said irritably, “If it weren’t to make you see dearly, I wouldt bring up this scomér Although Ryan can’t compare to the crown prince of the Hartman family, you should know the gap between you and kyst
“Since Doris‘ ex is Ryan, and she chose her current husband, it’s pouble she could choose me Andy was inexpliably confident.
Lola rolled her eyes at him. “Apart from having some money, what do you have over her husband Ryan also only has more money than you, but he’s still no match for Mr. Hartman”
“Lola, am I your childhood friend or is he? Why do you always take his side and belittle me?” Andy was extremely
dissatisfied.
“Because you’re my childhood friend, I need to wake you up, Lola propped her chin with her hands, You know what? Min. Hartman has a friend, Ivan, a partner at Goodwin LLP, also super handsome and my type”
“Lola, can you not be so infatuated?” Andy slammed his coffee cup on the counter. “I’m leaving”
“You’re not staying longer? I still have so much to tell you, Lola called after his retreating figure
“Not interested.”
Lola laughed.
