Chapter 24 Forget About Leaving
Celica felt as though a hunter’s silver stake had stabbed through her heart.
The man standing before her was handsome, charismatic, and the object of many girls affections on campus. He was the perfect mate, but she was no longer good enough for him.
Beornwulf looked at the innocent young girl with deep affection, eagerly awaiting her response
She remembered that night at the bar when he had heard the news of her marriage. The disappointment in his eyes made it clear that he cared deeply.
Your past bothers him, and you shouldn’t choose him, her wolf reminded her. Even a weak wolf had instiners, they were usually accurate.
Secretly, Celica sighed, and when she looked up again, the disappointment in her eyes had all disappeared “Thank you, but L… only have feelings for you like you’re my big brother. Do you understand? This kind of friendship can easily be mistaken as love sometimes,”
Beornwulf’s eyes widened slightly, and he was at a loss for words.
Celica pretended to be lighthearted, her eyes shining brightly. “As you know from that night, I am married. My mate loves me deeply, and I love him in return. My body and heart belong to him and him alone.”
Body and heart…
The implications were already clear, and Beornwulf was no fool. Celica had gently rejected him.
He was relieved that the girl he loved had found happiness, even if it wasn’t with him. Besides, he couldn’t bring himself to ruin someone else’s happy family.
Beornwulf let out a light sigh and said, “I apologize for bothering you.”
With that, he turned around, head down. His footsteps were slow, and the sunlight cast deep shadows before him.
Celica stood still, the ice cream in her hand melting unnoticed. Despite the bright sun, her fingertips felt cold.
She wiped away the melted ice cream, losing her appetite for sweets.
Just then, a Maybach was parked across the street behind her. A tall figure emerged from the back of the car With his long legs, Nathaniel swiftly walked over and stood gracefully in front of Celica
A wolf’s hearing was always sharp, and she sensed movement behind her. Celica almost instinctively turned around, but Nathaniel was already coolly standing before her by the time she realized what was happening
Her eyes widened, and she exclaimed, “How did you find me?”
Why is he here? Could he have overheard our entire conversation just now? If so, it will be quite troublesome
She had said those things earlier to reject Beornwulf tactfully, but it didn’t mean that she had fallen for Nathaniel. Who could possibly fall for an arrogant Alpha?
Nathaniel’s mind was still echoing Celica’s words, and he was in a good mood. A faint, self–satisfied smile

Celica frowned because the arrogant Alpha was tracking her again. Our Alpha is amazing isn’t he? her wolf said, filled with admiration. There aren’t many Alphas with strong detection instincts
She huffed in frustration and then opened the front door to go inside, giving Nathaniel the perfect opportunity to slip in ahead of her.
Though the place was smaller, it still felt cozy.
Celica hadn’t expected him to act so quickly. She tugged on his arm, trying to pull him out. “Hey, how can you just barge into someone’s home like this?”
The last thing she wanted was for Nathaniel to enter her grandmother’s house, so she attempted to drag him out. However, given her weakness compared to him, the Alpha remained firmly in place, unmoving.
“How am I barging in, Lama?” He smirked.
They were mates, which meant Celica’s grandmother was his as well.
Celica couldn’t overpower Nathaniel with her strength, so she gave up on using brute force. She raised her head and asked him with a serious expression, “Do you have something to discuss? If not, please leave. Don’t disturb me and my grandmother’s rest.”
The petite woman in front of him pouted, giving him a look that was far from friendly.
Nathaniel pinched her cheek. Crouching a little, he leaned next to her ear and whispered, “You want to leave the Snowwolf Pack, don’t you?”
It didn’t sound like an excuse he had made up, and perhaps because he naturally had a stern face, he looked even more serious when he wasn’t smiling. Indeed, for the Luna of a major pack to leave the pack, she needed to have a proper discussion with the Alpha. Otherwise, he couldn’t provide an explanation to the other elders of the pack. Moreover, Celica didn’t want to attract the attention of the neighbors, so she took a step back and allowed Nathaniel in.
The interior of the room had a unique charm. Instead of a modern, minimalist design, it had a distinctive vintage feel with scattered floral patterns and motifs.
There was also a faint, pleasant fragrance in the air, much like the young woman’s scent.
Celica placed the groceries in the kitchen and quickly washed her paws. When she walked out, Nathaniel was standing in front of a row of old photos, lost in thought. The photos featured her, her mother, and her grandmother.
She walked over, intentionally blocking his view. Lifting her head, she met the Alpha’s eyes. “Tell me, what do I need to do so that I can leave the Snowwolf Pack?”
As Nathaniel hadn’t given this any careful thought, he could only weasel his way through. “Uh… As you know, there are more rules within a major pack. I can’t explain everything now. Why don’t I stay here and explain it to you slowly?”
Stay here?!
All of a sudden, it struck Celica that she had fallen into a trap and had allowed a wily wolf into her house. “Are you deliberately trying to linger here?”
She regretted letting him in, as his smug expression clearly indicated he had ulterior motives.

Finished,
In previous encounters with this young woman, Nathaniel had always lost due to his attitude. This time, he decided not to confront her head–on.
With a confident step, he wrapped his strong arms around Celica’s waist, gently pulling her closer to him, narrowing the distance between them instantly.
Through the thin fabric that separated them, Celica could feel the scorching warmth against her waist. His paws intentionally or unintentionally caressed the soft flesh around her waist. This peculiar sensation stirred the wolf within her once again.
Celica struggled to restrain her wolf and finally managed to calm down after a while.
Nathaniel lowered his head slightly, his incomparably handsome face dominating Celica’s dark pupils. “T was just cooperating with you. Do you want to leave the Snowwolf Pack or not? If not, come back with me.”
His crisp voice was like a winter breeze, carrying a hint of coolness.
Nathaniel used leaving the pack as an excuse and left Celica completely helpless. Since Nathaniel was willing to cooperate, she couldn’t find a reason to refuse.
With a slight frown on her delicate eyebrows and feeling somewhat uncomfortable under his intense gaze, she muttered, “Sit here and take your time to think about it. Once you have an answer, let me know.”
Nathaniel responded with a faint hum, and Celica pushed his chest away before turning and heading into
the room.
Counting the days, she figured there might be a response to her job applications. She turned on her computer and checked her email.
Her heart raced with excitement when she saw the job offer from Shadearts and checked it repeatedly. “Yes! I can work at Shadearts!”
With a spring in her step, Celica walked to her wardrobe, opened it, and began selecting the clothes she would wear to work the next day.
In the living room, Nathaniel heard her excited voice and decided to investigate. Celica’s room was filled with bright sunlight, and her computer was still on with the webpage she had opened.
With a single glance, he understood what was causing her happiness.
“That outfit in your hand is too plain. Choose something else.”
While Celica held the clothes in her paws, standing in front of the mirror, Nathaniel quietly approached her side, offering fashion advice with his paws in his pockets.
One mustn’t dress too casually when working for such a prominent company. However, she didn’t have many clothes, and these were the only relatively new pieces she owned.
“I’m going to work, not a beauty pageant!” Celica argued as she pushed the outfit back into her closet.
She didn’t need to dress extravagantly for the job. However, as a designer, the clothes she had just chosen seemed a bit too understated for the occasion.
