Chapter 10
“Kenny, what’s wrong? You look unwell.”
Kenneth glanced at Ayleen and stepped back slightly.
“Nothing, just didn’t get enough sleep.”
The guests had waited nearly an hour, and Greg and Everly hadn’t arrived.
Marge cursed loudly, saying, “To throw a party for Ayleen, and she still acts so dramatically! That bitch Everly, what is she jealous of!”
Ayleen felt briefly satisfied, but it quickly faded.
Unexpectedly, Kenneth defended Everly.
“Have you ever treated Everly like your daughter? If not, you have no right to demand anything
from her.”
The hall instantly fell silent.
Everyone looked at Kenneth.
Ayleen looked at her fiancé, her face showing distress and injustice.
“Kenny, you…
Kenneth cut off Ayleen impatiently.
“Enough, Ayleen, stop pretending.”
“I don’t love you. Let’s end the engagement.”
These words caused chaos.
Ayleen felt humiliated, tears flowing down her face, she asked, “Kenneth, what do you mean?”
Kenneth looked at a face similar to another, recalling Everly’s tears.
His heart hurt.
Looking at Ayleen again, he felt annoyed.
“Sorry, Ayleen.”
“I don’t love you anymore.”
As he left, Kenneth heard Harrison and Marge cursing behind him.
They cursed Everly, calling her a slut who seduced Ayleen’s man, a whore, and more.

Kenneth didn’t want Everly involved in the scandal, so he took the microphone and explained everything.
“I had a crush on Everly, but she never made a move on me. A while back, I misunderstood her and thought about calling off the engagement. Everly aced her grad exam, but Ayleen stepped in and started spreading lies about her. It’s not hard to find proof of that. Once you see it, you’ll understand why I chose Everly over Ayleen.”
Below the stage, Harrison and Marge looked panicked. Ayleen turned pale and fainted.
It was obvious they were guilty.

Everly had no idea that after she left, both Greg and Kenneth, those big–shot businessmen, totally lost it.
Kenneth announced the breakup at the party, turning against the Olson family.
Greg got hauled off to the police station, drowning his sorrows in booze, and he couldn’t get a wink of sleep at night.
Kenneth and Greg searched everywhere but couldn’t find Everly.
