Chapter 11
Three years later.
After I left, I lived in a duplex courtyard abroad, enjoying a relaxed and happy life.
Unexpectedly, Kenneth found me.
I opened the door and was surprised to see Kenneth.
“How did you get here?”
Kenneth stared at me and then hugged me tightly.
Startled, I pushed him away and slapped him.
“Have you gone crazy?”
Kenneth breathed heavily, his eyes red, his chest heaving.
“Everly, I finally found you…”
Tears flowed down his cheeks, his eyes hopeful as he said, “Everly, I love you. Can you give me a
second chance?”
I found it ironically amusing.
I shut the door, but Kenneth forced his hand in.
I had no choice but to let him in.
Kenneth followed me, looking cheerful.
I placed the first–aid kit in front of him and said, “Treat your wounds and leave.”
Kenneth’s smile faded, his voice shaking as he said, “Everly, how can you be so heartless?”
I interrupted, “Then don’t bother treating your wounds, just leave.”
Kenneth trembled, tears falling.
He ran out in a mess.
Hearing his cries outside, I felt annoyed.
