Chapter 12
Unexpected guests kept arriving.
The next day, Marge and Harrison showed up at the door.
“Everly…”
Seeing me, Marge tried to hug me, but I avoided her.
I was tired of her fake act.
“Just get to the point.”
Suddenly, Marge looked defeated and knelt on the floor.
I used to handle all household issues.
Ayleen was clueless. During my three–year absence, the Olson family must have struggled a lot.
Harrison and Marge appeared to have aged significantly, looking weary and exhausted.
“Everly, I miss you so much, please come home with me.”
Marge sat on the floor, crying loudly and almost choking.
Harrison avoided my gaze and said, “Everly, we know we were wrong, please come back.”
Come back for what? To fix the Olson family’s financial mess?
I sneered. “I’m doing well now, so don’t contact me anymore. I’m no longer your daughter.”
Marge cried herself unconscious.
Even Harrison, who was always so proud, got down on his knees to beg me.
I simply closed the door.
I’d made my point. No one could make me return.
