Chapter 8
Some friends asked me where I was, and some friends apologized to me, saying that they shouldn’t
have done that and asking for my forgiveness.
I also got Charlotte’s message.
She questioned why I showed the chat records to Zachary, causing Zachary to ignore her and her
child to lose his father.
She said I didn’t deserve to be a woman and cursed me to never have children in my lifetime.
Actually, without her curse, I could never have children in my lifetime.
Most messages were from Zachary.
Some were questioning me, some were full of anger, some were pleading, some were full of regrets, some were full of longing, and some were explaining.
He would say good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to me every day, and he would also say “I love you” and “I miss you” many times.
He said he had that child because Bella and Amber got him drunk. That day, Charlotte was wearing my clothes, and he mistook her for me.
He said that holding a wedding with Charlotte was a forced choice.
At that time, Charlotte’s mother was critically ill. Before she died, she wanted to see Charlotte get married. Therefore, he helped them fake the wedding.
He said…
I turned off my phone, and my heart was surprisingly calm.
Everything related to Zachary was no longer important.
I came to the flower shop and there was a vase that my grandmother used to like.
I placed it at home before. After opening the flower shop, I brought it to the shop.
It was lunchtime, and as soon as I arrived at the door, I saw Zachary and Charlotte sitting by the small table inside the shop.
A lunchbox was on the table, and they were having lunch together.
Charlotte was talking and laughing, while Zachary focused on the food with a gloomy expression. Charlotte looked up and saw me at the door. After a slight surprise, she acted as if nothing had
1/3
happened.
I saw her pick up the tissue on the table to wipe Zachary’s mouth. Zachary clearly dodged backward,
and Charlotte leaned forward.
I smiled and didn’t want to expose her trick as I walked straight in.
When I entered the door, Sam, who was arranging the flowers, looked up and exclaimed with delight, “Stella, you’re back! That’s great!”
I nodded at him with a smile and said, “I came back to get something.”
Zachary’s body stiffened. He didn’t turn around until I finished speaking. Then he looked at me in
disbelief.
His plate fell to the ground and shattered into several pieces.
When Zachary saw me, tears streamed down his face.
He walked over stiffly and muttered, “Stella, you finally came back. It’s great.”
Zachary walked up to me and tried to reach out to hug me, but I took a step back.
My action made Zachary stay in place, dumbfounded.
