Chapter 9
The night before the wedding, I was about to fall asleep.
Aunt suddenly knocked on my door and brought me milk.
“Miss, it seems like there was someone outside…”
My aunt told me that a man was looking for me outside.
But my mom made everyone else pretend they couldn’t see.
Aunt couldn’t bear it and spoke out when she saw the poor man.
The door closed again, and I walked to the window.
It was a coincidence that my position happened to have a clear view of downstairs.
Salvador leaned against the car; the ground littered with cigarette butts.
As if by some supernatural force, he looked up and met my gaze.
Hollow eyes suddenly filled with radiance.
I pulled up the curtains.
Call the butler to chase the person away.
There was a commotion downstairs, and Salvador shouted my name.
We were entangled for over ten minutes until the roaring thunder sounded.
“Never mind, leave him alone,” I called the person back.
The butler wiped his sweat, and his clothes were all wrinkled.
“Miss, he insisted on seeing you.”
“Never mind him.”
Eventually, it started to rain outside.
Salvador was not foolish; he was just chased by the butler like a dog.
They probably left a long time ago.
But in the middle of the night, I was awakened by the sound of thunder and rain.
Under the streetlight outside the window, the heavy rain poured down, and Salvador was still there.

He stubbornly kept looking in the direction of my bedroom.
But it was already on the verge of collapsing.
Late affection is cheaper than grass.
I fell asleep again and had a dreamless night.
The next morning, there was no trace of him downstairs.
The makeup artist praised my condition, saying that I looked good no matter how they did my
makeup.
The woman in the mirror was praised, but she didn’t smile at all.
I walked out wearing a wedding dress, and Noah was waiting for me there.
He lifted me into the car.
Arriving at the wedding venue, there were continuous flowers and applause.
The weather today was very good, exceptionally bright.
Under the watchful gaze of our parents, Noah took my hand, and the ring came ever closer to my ring finger.
“Wait a minute!”
All the sounds ceased, and people turned to look behind them.
Salvador was wearing a brand–new suit.
But his face was too haggard, with dark circles under his eyes and thin cheeks.
He approached step by step, and then he was stopped by the bodyguards.
The head of the Everett family also attended today.
When they saw Salvador, the head of the Everett family turned green with anger.
“Donna, marry me and come back with me.”
Salvador knelt on one knee.
There was a commotion at the scene.
I let out a laugh and turned to urge Noah.
“Why didn’t you put it on me?”

Noah put the diamond ring on my ring finger.
Salvador was still kneeling there, but he was swaying dangerously.
His hand holding the ring was trembling.
I approached him step by step, holding the hem of my skirt.
Salvador’s face showed a look of surprise.
But his bloodshot eyes made him look terrifying.
I picked up his ring and threw it forcefully onto the lawn.
“It was too late.”
Salvador suddenly stood up and revealed a dagger.
