Chapter 1
“Mom, do we have to go abroad?”
Daisy looked up and asked hesitantly.
Arabella Reid paused for a moment, carefully preserving the revised divorce agreement. She then looked down at her daughter and said, “Yes, the world is so big. Mommy wants to go out and see it. Would you like to accompany me, Daisy?”
“But Zackary only brought me a doll today, does that mean he is willing to accept me as his daughter?”
Daisy’s voice grew quieter and quieter, and the doll she held in her arms became deformed due to her tightly clenched fingers.
This was the only gift she received from Zackary Jefferson.
Arabella’s heart suddenly ached.
Zackary and I were married for six years, but we couldn’t even be described as a happy couple.
No one knew that he had a wife, let alone a daughter.
P
On the day she gave birth, Zackary flew abroad to celebrate Gina’s birthday with her.
Zackary, however, refused to let go. “Arabella, can we still keep in touch in the future?”
Her enthusiasm was extinguished by a bucket of ice water.
She was enveloped in a great sense of injustice and unwillingness, but she could only nod with tears in her eyes and say, “Okay, Mr. Jefferson.”
In four words, that was the entirety of her relationship with Zackary.
He gave orders, and she executed them accurately.
Only work interactions, nothing more.
But she still made a mistake. Daisy didn’t know where she learned to call him “dad“.
When Zackary brought the client back temporarily, Daisy blurted out.
Arabella saw Zackary with such a gloomy expression for the first time.
He cast a fierce glance at her and Daisy as if filled with boundless hatred.
Zackary froze. “What three chances?”

After that, Zackary never set foot in this house again.
As Daisy grew older, she also learned to respectfully address the person on the other end of the
phone like Mr. Jefferson.
He eagerly waited for her to call him every week.
Arabella couldn’t bear to see her daughter so upset, a promise she had obtained by threatening to
die.
Getting Zackary’s approval seemed like an obsession, and it was also Arabella’s obsession.
Once, Arabella stayed up for five consecutive nights, fighting for a ten million cooperation deal for Zackary. She had dark circles under her eyes, but her heart was filled with joy as she eagerly awaited the man’s praise. However, Zackary traveled a long distance overseas to handle a
two–billion bad debt for Gina.
Daisy had a fever in the middle of the night. She hurriedly took her to the hospital, but the car slipped and crashed into a tree. However, Zackary’s phone was unreachable, and in the end, the other party simply turned it off.
She could only hold Daisy, dragging her injured and bleeding leg, walking to the hospital, and lying on the hospital bed for a full ten days.
Later, Arabella found out that on that night, Gina briefly went back to her home country and Zackary canceled all the collaborations, comforting Gina throughout the entire night.
Arabella didn’t want to deceive her daughter, so she said lightly, “Daisy, sweetheart, Mommy will take you abroad, and we can start a new life together, okay? Don’t you want to be with Mommy?”
Daisy pouted, almost on the verge of tears, “Do we have to go?”
Hoarse, “My birthday is coming soon. Maybe if my dad is happy, he will recognize me…”
She tried her best to hold back her tears, but they were swirling in her eyes.
Arabella’s heart ached so much that her nose tingled. She buried her head in her daughter’s clothes, afraid that her daughter would worry if she cried.
- “Dad’s sweetheart is coming back, we should leave.”
“Staying here any longer would make him dislike us even more.”
Daisy’s grape–like big eyes widened suddenly, and she shook her head repeatedly, saying, “I didn’t want him, he hated me even more.”
Zackary felt an inexplicable annoyance in his heart. “What are you getting upset about? Is it

because I didn’t comfort Daisy at the office that day?”
“What if, what if…”
No ifs.
There would be no accidents.
Even the doll in your hand was a result of his generosity because he wanted to make his beloved happy.
Facing her daughter, Arabella couldn’t bring herself to say such cruel words.
She looked at her daughter with teary eyes and reluctantly agreed, “Okay, wait for another two
weeks.”
Married her, allowed her to give birth to Daisy, and raced to take her for an abortion.
These three acts of tenderness supported her through countless cold and lonely nights.
And now, she changed into the last two weeks, bidding him a final farewell.
Once two weeks had passed, we would be separated by vast rivers and seas.
