Chapter 9 Outside Work Hours
Caden’s POV:
I was truly surprised.
Finished
Not because of the gifts. The werewolf society was built on strict hierarchies, and Felix’s cold demeanor had already made it clear that this Omega from Frostmoore was a nobody in the Shadow Pack.
But I was completely captivated when Rosaline sat down to play the piano.
Her elegance while playing seemed like something she was born with, not at all like the lowly Omega I would expect from such a harsh northern land like Frostmoore.
I was confused. Her usual demeanor was nothing like what she showed tonight.
The celebration tonight was hosted by the Eclipse Pack. I was pleased that Rosaline, my supposed fiancée, had stood out in front of everyone. However, after she finished playing, she completely ignored my gaze, as if she didn’t care at all.
As the heir to Eclipse Pack, the future Alpha, I couldn’t understand why she was treating me like this.
When I saw her heading out, I couldn’t stop myself from following her. I had to ask her why.
Rosaline’s POV:
“You’re being ridiculous. Who said I have to report to you before leaving? Caden, it’s after hours. You’re not my boss now. What I do in my private time is my own business.”
I waved my hand dismissively, and a car stopped right in front of me. The driver got out and opened the
door for me.
It was then that I realized it was Caden’s car. I hesitated, unsure if I should get in.
However, Caden spoke coldly, “We’re going back together. It’s too late, and if something happens to you, the Eclipse Pack will be held responsible.”
I frowned. “If you’re worried about me suing you guys for money, there’s no need for it. Your money is nothing to me.”
I turned to leave, but Caden grabbed my wrist, his tone unyielding. “Get in the car!”
I couldn’t believe how rude this man had become all of a sudden.
He ignored my irritation and said, “Since I promised the Alpha to stay with you for three months, I’m. responsible for your safety during this time.”
Fine. He just didn’t want to be held accountable if anything happened. That was the only reason he was forcing me to go back with him.
I yanked my arm away and climbed into the car first, already feeling thoroughly frustrated.
Before coming here, 1 thought there was no way I’d have any sort of connection with Caden during these three months. But now it seemed like this man wasn’t just ill–tempered and difficult, he was also blunt and
had no sense of tact.

Chapter 9 Outside Work Hours
How could my grandfather, such a sharp and powerful werewolf, be so clueless when it comes to my marriage?
Way’s POV:
Finished
My heart burnt with jealousy and I stomped my foot in frustration as I watched Caden and Rosaline get into
the same car.
That shameless woman!
If I were the one engaged to Caden, I’d be the one sitting in that car with him right now. Roseline can get
lost!
Tonight, she won, but that doesn’t mean she’ll keep winning. We’re on the Eclipse Pack’s territory now. This wasn’t someplace where a Frostmoore Omega can do whatever she wants.
I pulled out my phone and dialed a number. “I remember you mentioned wanting to be friends last time. If we’re going to be friends, you should give me a proper gift to show your sincerity, don’t you think?”
On the other end of the line was Stella, the Eclipse Group’s head of secretariat. I’d seen her at a banquet once. She had always tried to enter my social circle, but other werewolves had made it clear she wasn’t welcome.
Now that I was calling her, she had no choice but to be nice to me.
Sure enough, when Stella heard my voice, she immediately responded, her tone sweet and eager. “Of course, Ms. Crawford! What can I do for you?”
“It’s simple. Rosaline works under you now, right? I’m sure you can make her suffer a little, can’t you? If you do a good job, I’ll get you anything you want–any new bags, whatever you like.”
Stella hesitated for a moment, then became excited. “As expected of the generous Ms. Crawford! Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”
I couldn’t help but laugh inwardly. She really was one of the lower–tier wolves. A single bag could buy her loyalty.
“You’re confident that you can handle this?”
“Of course. Rosaline’s just a secretary. Mr. Holbrook doesn’t even care about her, and no one else pays attention to her either. Making her suffer will be easy.”
Hearing that Caden didn’t care about Rosaline at work made me feel so much better.
“Alright, then. If you do this well, I’ll make sure you’re rewarded handsomely.”
