Counterback of the Despised Luna
Chapter 11 Photographic Memory
After Stella stormed off, I got to work.
Finished
Becoming an Alpha had enhanced all my senses. My memory, which was already impressive, now had the ability to retain everything I saw and read. After quickly scanning the contents of the files, I understood the data I needed to input and began the task.
The process was tedious, but it posed little challenge to me. I got the hang of it quickly, and my speed only increased as I went.
The rapid tapping of my fingers on the keyboard soon caught the attention of some of my colleagues. Their hushed voices reached my ears, and I couldn’t help but overhear their comments.
“Did you see how fast she’s typing? I thought I was quick, but I can’t keep up with her.”
“I thought someone from a rural area like her wouldn’t know much about office work, but she’s actually pretty efficient.”
“Yeah, I noticed. She’s pretty organized too. I heard she’s engaged to Mr. Holbrook. If Alpha Richard approves of it, she must have some value.”
“So what? Did you notice that Mr. Holbrook doesn’t even pay attention to her? She’ll be gone one day. She made an enemy of Ms. Dixon and that was why she’s been saddled with all this work today. I bet it’s just the beginning. Her days here won’t be easy.”
“Whatever. It’s none of our business. We shouldn’t get involved and bring trouble upon ourselves.”
Their whispers were like white noise to me as I focused on my task.
Stella’s POV:
At first, I wasn’t too keen on helping Wendy deal with Rosaline. Despite how much I disliked her, she was still Mr. Holbrook’s fiancée. But after watching her walk all over me without any respect, any lingering guilt I had vanished.
Rosaline was just an Omega from the far north of the Werewolf Continent. I didn’t understand how she could be so arrogant. Her attitude was enough to make anyone dislike her.
However, she’s a fool. The workload I assigned her today was impossible to finish in time, yet she didn’t complain. That caught me off guard.
When work hours ended, I went to check on Rosaline’s progress, but to my surprise, I saw her strolling out from the dining area, looking completely relaxed.
I slammed my hand on the table and barked, “Rosaline! Why are you wandering around? Have you finished your work? I told you this data had to be completed today and it’s needed for tomorrow. How dare you eat before finishing your work? Will you be responsible if your delay causes Eclipse Group any loss?”
Rosaline shrugged nonchalantly. “You said it had to be done today. It’s not even seven yet. I know what I’m doing
I was taken aback by her confidence. “Don’t talk big here. I haven’t even seen you working for that long-

She cut me off, waving her hand dismissively. “Enough! Save your complaints for tomorrow if I don’t finish, For now, please leave me alone. I need to work, and you’re distracting me. The blame is on you if I can’t finish my work”
I was furious. This bumpkin really had no shame. Well, if she thought she could just get away with it, she was mistaken
Tid make sure she regretted it
When everyone else had gone home. I’d set her up with a more “entertaining” task.
Let’s see how long she could last before she begged me for merry.
Rosaline’s POV
By 9:30 PM. I finally finished the last of the work, tapping the final key on the keyboard. I stretched lazily, feeling satisfied.
For an ordinary Omega, this job would be exhausting, and it would probably take them until midnight to finish. But for me, an Alpha, it was as easy as snapping my fingers.
I was about to pack up and leave when Stella’s call came through. Perfect timing.
“How much longer until you’re done?” she demanded.
“I’m done, I replied
“What? Are you sure you’ve checked everything carefully?” Stella sounded surprised.
I emailed her the completed files, and there was a long pause on the other end.
“If there’s nothing else, I’m heading out now.”
“No! You can’t leave yet!” Stella suddenly shouted.
“Why?”
“The work you did just now is related to warehouse organization. You need to take care of it too.”
I raised an eyebrow. “What’s that got to do with the work I just did?”
“Don’t ask questions! I just got notified that the data in the warehouse needs to match what you’ve entered. You can’t leave until that’s done.”
I paused for a moment, then agreed. It was just some physical labor, and if I shifted into wolf form, it wouldn’t be a problem. It had been a while since I’d let Freya out to stretch her legs. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to understand how Eclipse Pack’s internal operations worked better.
Following Stella’s instructions, I made my way to the Eclipse Group’s warehouse.
By midnight, I was standing in front of the large warehouse doors, the cool air biting at my skin. I punched in the access code, and the heavy doors slowly creaked. open.
I stepped inside and the steel doors closed behind me with a thud.

But just as I entered, my nose suddenly caught a scent that made my wolf instincts flare.
Deep inside me. Freya growled a warning.
It was wolfsbane!
