Chapter 23 My Little Underwear
Caden’s POV:
I had to admit, Roseline looked stunning standing outside my car in the rain, her red dress clingi curves, drenched from head to toe. It was both mesmerizing and undeniably alluring.

“Thanks.” She didn’t hesitate this time, opening the door and sitting in the passenger seat, buckling up immediately with a demure expression. I smirked and hit the gas.
“Where are we going?” Roseline asked, glancing out the window.
Realizing I wasn’t taking her home, she looked at me, slightly surprised. “To the hospital,” I said, glancing at
her hand.
“Why the hospital?” she asked, confused.
1 frowned, looking at her reddened hand. “Your hand’s completely red.”
“Oh, it’s just an allergy,” she replied with a small laugh, brushing it off like it was nothing.
I was a little angry. How could she be so indifferent to her own body?
Frustrated. I couldn’t hold back. “Why would you put yourself at risk like that?”
“What else was I supposed to do? Let people accuse me of being a thief?” Roseline looked at me defiantly.
“There were other ways.”
“Really?” She raised her eyebrow, rubbing her temple. “What better way was there, Mr. Holbrook? Wendy set this up carefully, and all the evidence pointed to me. My allergy was the only proof I had that I hadn’t touched the ring.”
I kept my eyes on the road. “You could have asked for my help.”
She fell silent momentarily, then looked at me with a smile. “Thank you for believing in me, regardless.”
I huffed. This woman kept surprising me. Confident, level–headed, and clever–nothing like what I’d expected.
Roseline’s POV:
At the hospital, the doctor confirmed it was just an allergic reaction, giving me a soothing cream for my hand. To my surprise, Caden seemed genuinely concerned.
It was clear that he was quite concerned about my injury, but it was probably more because of the connection between our grandfathers and the engagement than out of personal concern. Still, this minor injury was nothing for someone like me, an Alpha with a strong healing ability.
When we got home, Caden went into his room first.
“I’m taking a shower,” he said, striding toward the bathroom. I was heading to my room when I realized the guest room door was locked–another one of Quennie’s tricks. She never let up.
I had no choice but to head to Caden’s room first. I grabbed a towel, wiped the rainwater from my hair, and

Although the allergy wasn’t serious, the itching on my finger was uncomfortable.

ment. I had just gotten to my feet when I felt something bump against my head,
The pain made me look up, only to see Caden standing right before me, having appeared without me noticing.
“When did you get here? Why do you walk so quietly?” 1 glared at him, rubbing my forehead.
Caden rubbed his chin, his brows furrowing slightly. It was clear he had bumped his chin and was feeling some pain. His handsome, chiseled face was tight, and his hair was wet, with droplets still clinging to the
ends.
He was only wearing a white bathrobe. The top two buttons were undone, revealing his rock–solid abs as if he were a walking sculpture–undeniably attractive.
I found myself momentarily distracted, stunned by just how good–looking he was.
“You done staring?” Caden smirked, lips curving up slightly.
Snapping out of it, I rolled my eyes and muttered, “Can’t you put on some clothes? Walk louder next time!”
With a hint of amusement, he buttoned his robe, his eyes fixed on me. “Looks like you’re the one who walked into me.”
What was that look? Was he trying to tease me? I felt my pulse quicken slightly.
I must admit, I was starting to feel a bit flustered.
Come on, dressed like that around a lone woman, not even trying to keep a respectful distance?
“I can’t get into my room, so I’m using your shower,” I mumbled, grabbing my clothes and retreating.
Knock, knock, knock.
Halfway through my shower, I suddenly heard someone knocking on the bathroom door.
“Who’s there?” I asked, confused. Why would anyone be knocking on the bathroom door?
At this point, Caden was the only one in the room.
What could he want?
Sure enough, through the door came his deep, magnetic voice. “It’s me.”
A sense of caution bubbled up inside me, and I immediately asked, “What do you want? Don’t you know I’m in the shower?”
“Your thing fell.” Caden’s voice was low and husky.
“What thing?” I was puzzled, turning off the water and wrapping myself in a towel.
Caden must be doing this on purpose!
I remember not dropping anything from getting clothes to entering the bathroom just now. And even if I

had, couldn’t he wait until 1 was done to tell me?
Freya suddenly chimed in. laughing. “This well–dressed man wouldn’t be a peeping tom, would he?”

I quickly silenced Freya–she was always stirring the pot. The people from the Holbrooks were still in the banquet hall, and it was just me and him here.
Hmph. Caden clearly had ulterior motives, but I wouldn’t let him get away with it. If he kept this up, I’d let Freya out to give him a good lesson.
He may be the nominal heir but hasn’t received the Moon Goddess‘ blessing yet. As an Alpha of the Shadow Pack. I was way stronger than him.
“You should check for yourself and see what fell. Caden’s hand appeared outside the door, holding something as if he were teasing me.
I was completely bewildered, scanning the bathroom, when it suddenly hit me–my underwear!
Oh my God!
It must have fallen outside while I was rushing earlier.
Had Caden picked it up?
