1 frowned and took a few steps back, flinging the wad of cash back at the man. My voice was firm and cold. “Get out of my way!”
I had noticed his sleazy expression earlier when I was de stage singing. I didn’t expect him to wait for me near the restroom.
“You’re just a lounge singer, aren’t you? Don’t test my pience!” The man’s tone turned harsh after I refused him. “You’re doing this kind of work to lure men, aren’t you? A high–ranking Beta like me taking an interest in a low–tier Omega like you should be an honor!”
What the hell? How could someone so ugly have such an inflated opinion of himself?
I took another step back, glaring at him with righteous anger. “Take one more step, and I won’t hold back!
Alpha, let him come! Just let him try to force himself on us, and I’ll have every reason to destroy him! Ha! This will be fun!” Freya’s voice rang out in my mind, practically howling with excitement.
Her enthusiasm left me speechless. It was true I’d been suppressing her for a while, and if this balding. beer–bellied creep kept pushing his luck, I wasn’t sure could stop Freya from breaking free.
tried to sidestep him, but the man grabbed my shoulders and yanked me toward him.
“Don’t be shy, sweetheart,‘ he crooned, his face uncomfortably close. “Kiss me. If you behave and keep me satisfied, I promise you’ll live the good life from now on
Disgust surged through me, and I fought to keep Freya under control. Twisting his wrist, I prepared to throw him over my shoulder when a familiar, icy voice cut through the air. “Let her go!”
The next moment, the man yelped in pain and was slammed to the floor with a heavy thud.
Caden’s tall, commanding figure stepped into view. He planted a foot firmly on the man’s chest, his chiseled face as cold as stone.
I stood frozen in shock.
I couldn’t believe it. Caden was here?
“Who the hell are you?” The man scrambled to his feet, snarling as his form shifted into a black wolf. His bloodshot eyes locked onto Caden, his sharp teeth bared dangerously close to Caden’s face. The stench of his breath filled the restroom.
“Do you know who I am? How dare you ruin my plans? You’ll regret this!”
Caden released his dominant aura in an instant. As the beir apparent, he didn’t even need to shift; the pressure alone was enough.
The black wolf whimpered, his bravado vanished as he collapsed to the floor, trembling from head to toe.
In moments, the man reverted to his human form, groveling on the ground as he crawled toward Caden’s feet. He kissed Caden’s shoes, his voice dripping with fear. “Mr. Holbrook… I didn’t know it was you! If you’re interested in this woman, she’s all yours. Please, spare me!”

He kicked the man in the face with such force that the man was sent sprawling, blood pouring from his face, and two of his teeth were knocked out. Yet, he still kept grinning, too scared to say a word.
“Get out,” Caden growled, his voice sharp as a blade. “I see you again, you won’t be so lucky.
“Yes! I’ll leave immediately!” The man bowed repeatedly, crawling backward out of the restroom. Only when he reached the door did he dare to stand and bol clutching his bleeding mouth as he fled.
I turned back to Caden, his cold demeanor like a shield between us. For a moment, I hesitated, then managed to say, “Thank you.”
Regardless of the situation, Caden had stepped in and helped me–though I didn’t need saving.
Caden’s expression remained icy as if a storm were brewing just beneath the surface.
The intense pressure radiating from him made my breath catch. He was furious–I could feel it.
Not wanting to provoke him further, I took a step back, lowering my head in submission. “Caden, I have plans to meet a friend. I should go.”
I turned to leave, but a sudden force gripped my waist. Caden’s strong arm wrapped around me, me backward. In one swift motion, he had me inside the men’s restroom.

“What the hell are you doing, Caden?” I gasped, caught completely off guard. Thankfully, the room was
empty.
He reached back, locking the door, then pressed me firmly against it. With both arms braced against the doorframe, he boxed me in.
“Rosaline, do you even realize what your status means? His narrowed eyes glinted like frozen steel, his voice sharp enough to cut through glass.
“You’re out of your mind! Let me go! My friend is waiting!” I struggled against his hold, but he didn’t budge. His entire demeanor was unreadable–both intimidating and infuriating.
“Ryan?” The mention of the name caused his
pression to darken further. Fury churned in his eyes like a raging inferno. “Rosaline, listen carefully. You are my fiancée!”
“So what?” His anger was ballling, and I genuinely couldn’t figure out why he was so enraged.
I didn’t remember doing anything to offend him.
“As I my fiancée, you’re supposed to conduct yourself with decorum, not…” He paused, his hands tightening on my shoulders, his gaze piercing. “Not run around seducing other men!”
What?
1 froze in disbelief, his accusation hitting me like a slap in the face. When have you ever seen me seducing anyone?
“With my own two eyes, just now!” His brow furrowed deeply, and his grip on my shoulders grew firmer.
He gestured toward my dress. “That Loe Studio gown didn’t come cheap. It must have been Ryan who gave it to you. If nothing is going on between you two, why would he gift you something so extravagant?”

Lifting my chin defiantly, I snapped back, “Don’t forget our relationship is nothing more than a contract. In three months, we’ll go our separate ways. Even if I were involved with someone–which I’m not–it’s none of your business!”
“Rosaline, do you have no self–respect?” His voice was dangerously low, every word dripping with venom. Before I could retort, he leaned down and kissed me, his lips hot and demanding against mine.
The sudden heat of his touch made me shiver, my entire body frozen in shock. It took several seconds for me to fully register what had just happened.
Caden had kissed me.
My first kiss.
While my mind reeled, Freya, the part of me I’d worked so hard to suppress, was thrilled. Her voice rang in my head, gleefully urging me not to resist–to embrace Caden’s kiss.
