Chapter 13
David’s voice echoed in her ear once more, saying, “Ember, I’m sorry.
She cried and used her hand to dab away her tears before turning to face him in a dejected manner. “David, I don’t want you to apologize to me; I want you to say that there is nothing between Rose,” she said.
you and
David clenched his eyes in agony, he has wasted a woman’s affection for him in this world, “I…”
Rose cut him off when he started to speak to Ember further.
Ember shook her head. Rose looked at her with smug as she said, “Ember, things are like this, why don’t you believe it?”
“No, I don’t doubt David; he claimed he wouldn’t desert me and that his love for me is solely for this life. The David I love would never turn on me in any way. In his entire life, he will only wed me.
Rose could see the pained expression on David’s face even though he kept his lips sealed and remained silent.
Before anyone could react, she dashed over and slapped Ember to stop her from entangling David any further and doing something awful.
“Smack!”
People scowled as a result of this slap’s audible volume.
Ember stumbled back as a result of Rose’s brutal smack and collapsed to the floor moaning in agony.
She looked so awful, her hair all over her, adhering to the tears on her face. She didn’t even have the strength to get off of the ground since her heart was hurting so much.
Rose didn’t give up, though. She hurried over and grabbed Ember’s hands.
“Ember, the only reason I smacked you was to wake you up. You need to understand that the David in front of us is the one you love. He doesn’t want you any more. He’s already married to me. He’s already a married man. If you continue to entangle him in the future, you’ll be despised by the world.”
She forewarned her, her eyes filled with rage.
“Rose, enough already,”
David eventually reacted when he reached his breaking point, standing there with his hands clenched

and veins bulging on his forehead.
He approached Rose and grasped her neck like he wanted to rip her apart, his face wrapped in a thick layer of rage and cold. “What do you want from me, you’ve already made her this way, yet you won’t let her go?”
“Honey,” Rose cried.
“Don’t call me as that,” David yelled.
David tightly choked Rose with his hands after being so disturbed by her treatment of Ember that he had already lost his wits.
Rose strained in vain to free herself from the tie around her neck as she was in his firm grasp and could not breathe.
A coworker noticed that something wasn’t right and ran over to draw him aside while whispering in his
ear.
“Manager David, her face is turning blue, if you continue to choke her, she might die”
Three simple words-“she might die“-seemed to jolt David back to reality. He let go of Rose and threw her to the ground like a rag while glaring angrily at her, who had lost all color.
Sarah, the chairman’s assistant, stepped forward and said, “Manager David, the chairman is looking for you.”
Before departing, David gave Ember, who was laying on the ground, a quick glance.
As soon as he left, coworkers who were on the scene hurried to lift the two women.
Rose approached Ember as she was being assisted to her feet and said, in a triumphant voice, “Ember, no matter how David treats me, he’s still my husband. Couples always fight. As for you, he no longer wants you. Keep in mind, he is no longer interested in you,”
A month after that.
Ember couldn’t stop thinking about two people as she was driving to a blind date.
The first was Rose, her sworn enemy, who had behaved so victoriously in front of her.
“Ember, no matter how beautiful you are, how talented you are in design, and how well–liked your character is, all of those are nothing compared to my family background. As I said, I will win against you. Look, now I am the one who became his wife, not you. You are not even worthy to carry my shoes forever.”
