Kaleb’s voice stayed steady.
“The Cooley Group doesn’t need a jerk like you as a partner.”
“Luke, I suggest you promptly pay the money to the Cooley Group’s account as Ms. Mueller’s compensation for emotional distress. I assume you don’t want to receive a legal notice from the Cooley Group, right?”
Luke had to accept it.
“Okay, I’ll pay.”
He left, his head bowed, looking utterly defeated.
Ariella stared at Kaleb, feeling thankful.
When she used to attend banquets with Jovan as his wife, she often encountered rude people. Some would tease her, and others would even harass her..
She stood up for herself and ended up embarrassing those people, but surprisingly, Jovan actually criticized her for it.
“Didn’t you realize that was a business partner of my company?
“What’s the big deal if they say something negative about you? They’re not going to do anything about it.
“Why stir up trouble for everyone? You should apologize. By the way, if you hadn’t dressed so revealingly, do you think he would have reacted that way?
“Maybe you should just stay home and stop causing problems for me!”
These words kept replaying in her mind.
They even made her question herself.

Kaleb saw her expression and dismissed Luke.
He asked gently,“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Ariella replied, regaining her composure.“Mr. Cooley, thank you.”
She spoke cautiously, “He is a business partner, right? If you need me to….”
Kaleb’s face showed no emotion as he walked to the golf course.
Ariella rushed to follow.
She couldn’t see his face but heard his deep and forceful voice.
“When he harassed you, he disrespected the Cooley Group. Losing that partner is good for us.
“As for you…”
He paused, then went on.
“Since you work for the Cooley Group, I’ve got your back for sure. Plus, standing up for yourself is always the way to go, and I really respect that kind of bravery.”
Ariella was stunned.
She had expected to be criticized for being “naive.”

“I mean, we all kind of represent the Cooley Group when we’re out there. We can’t let anyone mess with the company’s reputation or show it any disrespect.”
“I understand,” Ariella’s voice was shaky.
When she was with Jovan, if anyone had stood up for her against those who humiliated her, she wouldn’t have become so sensitive and overthinking, nearly depressed several times.
“Thank you, Mr. Cooley. I know what to do now.”
Since she wasn’t at fault, she didn’t need to fear anyone.
As she spoke, she shook the clothes in her hand.“Mr. Cooley, your jacket.”
Kaleb took a quick look at her outfit and said, “You can keep it for now.”
Ariella clutched his jacket, feeling a bit lost.
Kaleb seemed to realize something.“Oh, you mean it’s inconvenient? Right, you’ve got to play. Just wrap it around you or something.”
Ariella’s eyes brightened, and she quickly tied the jacket around her waist.
Kaleb’s jacket was large, reaching her calves.
“Mr. Cooley, thank you, I’ll wash and return it soon.”
Kaleb was about to say “It’s fine,” but the words stuck in his throat, and he only nodded with a “Mm,” waving to Matthew to play.
Gerald and Jovan arrived at the golf course.
With clear intentions, they skipped the lounge and went straight to the field.
“Hey, isn’t that Ariella?” Gerald widened his eyes, surprised by Ariella’s good golfing.
Jovan looked in the direction of his finger.
Ariella stood on the green, showing off her good figure. The sunlight made her look soft and glowing.
She turned a bit, her eyes very focused and determined. After aiming, she swung smoothly.
Right away, the ball flew in a perfect curve.

Gerald couldn’t help but say.
“Ariella is totally a pro at golfing.

Jovan reckoned Ariella had gotten a lot sharper.
He looked at the bag in his hand, which had a valuable diamond necklace.
When Matthew came to sign the contract, he would give her the necklace.
She had wanted it for a long time.
She’d be absolutely thrilled.
As for Sarah, he thought it would be enough if Ariella just apologized.
The four of them who played ball were sweaty but had a nice chat.
Matthew smiled, “Mr. Cooley, we lost. I accept it. Given your wrist injury, I’ll add an extra percentage of the profit for you.”
Kaleb’s face didn’t change.
“Thanks.”
Matthew glanced at Ariella, who was wiping sweat.

As the four were leaving, they saw Jovan waiting nearby.
