Chapter 57 Old Acquaintance
The workday finally drew to a close, yet I was still caught up in my tasks.
Finished
After reviewing the meeting notes and refining the proposal, I felt sure everything was set. I picked. documents and made my way to the CEO’s office.

“Are you finished?” Caden asked, glancing up as I entered.
I nodded and walked toward him, handing him the papers.
He skimmed through the meeting notes, then looked up at me. “Aren’t you going to walk me through it?”
“It’s all in the notes,” I said, gesturing to the pages. “The meeting was focused on the mass production of Ice and Fire and our next steps. I detailed each item one by one.
It was clear he was making me do this on purpose. I remembered when Wendy had brought the Crawford Group’s proposal to him just days ago.
He hadn’t even looked at it, telling her to leave it for later. But now, he was making me explain everything in detail.
His mood was unpredictable.
I had barely finished explaining when I opened the proposal to walk him through it, only to be cut off.
“Have you eaten yet?” Caden asked, his expression unchanged.
“No.” I answered, shaking my head. I hadn’t had time for dinner with how much I’d been working.
Caden stood up quickly, his eyes steady on me. “Let’s go.”
I blinked, caught off guard. “Where to?”
“Dinner,” he said, his voice calm, his face unreadable.
Caden’s POV:
Rosaline was so focused on her work, she didn’t seem to care for herself.
Even though she had given me a vague response about Ryan, saying there was nothing serious between them, I wasn’t buying it.
I had to use my position to make sure they didn’t meet.
I grabbed my suit jacket from the back of the chair and strode toward the door, my legs carrying me forward.
Rosaline hurried to keep up. “You’re treating me?”
“Of course,” I replied.
She narrowed her eyes, her skepticism evident. “Why the sudden change of heart? Taking me out to eat?”
I stopped and turned toward her. “Am I really the kind of boss who’s always cold?”

She didn’t say anything, but her face spoke volumes.
However, facing me, the serious boss, she pulled her cheeks and stayed quier.
I couldn’t help but chuckle before I led her to a fancy Japanese restaurant.
Mr. Holbrook, right this way,” the restaurant manager greeted us as soon as he saw me.
I had a private room at this place.
Sometimes, after late work, I’d swing by for a quick snack, or I’d bring clients along.
Rosaline didn’t know, though, that this was the first time I’d brought a girl here.
The manager took one look at Rosaline and couldn’t stop sizing her up.

She looked stunning under the warm restaurant lights, her tall frame and porcelain skin catching every eye. The manager stared, but Rosaline just smiled, her grace drawing attention in all the right ways.
He couldn’t look away. I stepped in front of her to block his gaze. Realizing his mistake, the manager quickly looked away, bowing politely. He then led us to the top floor.
As the elevator doors opened, Rosaline was about to step out when a tall figure approached from the other side. He joined us in the elevator.
Rosaline froze, her gaze locking onto him.
I turned and saw a striking figure–a handsome werewolf.
I was surprised, but I recognized him immediately. We’d been classmates once. We got along well enough, but after he left for school abroad and I became consumed with family matters, we hadn’t kept in touch.
I nodded in greeting. Jasper, what a coincidence.”
Jasper flashed a smile, his sharp features lighting up. He looked at Rosaline for a moment before turning back to me. “Caden, it’s been too long.”
Rosaline kept her gaze lowered, silent.
I could sense the familiarity between them.
“I thought you were still working in Goldenwood. When did you return?” I asked, my tone steady.
Jasper was the second son of the Thunderune Pack. While their clan didn’t hold the same power as Eclipse Pack, they were still a significant force in Rivemon. As he wasn’t the heir, he didn’t need to participate in the fierce battles for leadership. Instead, he entered the family’s film and entertainment division.
With his striking appearance and a certain quiet charm, he quickly became a star in the industry. The female werewolves adored him, and his fame skyrocketed. Over the past two years, he had claimed multiple awards, earning the title of an undeniable movie icon.
“I just returned,” Jasper said, his lips curving into a faint smile. His gaze lingered on Rosaline for a moment, seemingly unable to look away.
1 frowned. “Let me introduce you. This is Rosaline, my fiancée.”

I turned to Rosaline, then back to Jasper. “Rosaline, this is my friend, Jasper
Finally, Rosaline looked up, offering a small smile. “I’ve heard much about you.”
