Chapter 79 I Am Tessa
Wendy’s POV:
I got out of the car with an umbrella and climbed up the hill.
After searching around the graveyard, I spotted Caden sitting on the ground, drenched from head to toe. He was leaning against a tombstone with a sorrowful expression, clearly drunk.
“Caden, are you okay?” I approached him, holding the umbrella over his head. “You’re soaked through.”
Caden didn’t respond. He lifted the bottle and took another swig.
There were five or six empty bottles scattered around him.
He had definitely had too much.
I felt a pang in my chest and snatched the bottle from him. “Stop drinking! You’re drunk, Caden!”
He blinked at me in a daze, as if he couldn’t recognize me.
“Tessa?” He muttered a name.
Tessa?
It was the first time I’d heard this name.
Who was Tessa? Could it be Rosaline? No, that didn’t feel right…
Heaned down and tried to support him. “Caden, you’re drunk. Let me take you home.”
His hazy eyes were fixed on me as he murmured again, “Tessa… ”
I froze while staring at his impossibly handsome face. This was the closest I’d ever been to him.
The graveyard was silent. This was the perfect chance for me.
Leaning in closer, I decided to take a gamble. “Yes, it’s me. I’m Tessa. Caden, I’m your Tessa.”
“Tessa, is it really you?” He stumbled forward, leaning against me with disbelief and joy.
His tall, strong frame and impossibly handsome face left me breathless. He looked effortlessly perfect even though he was drunk.
“Of course it’s me,” I said softly, wrapping my arms around him.
My hand trailed from his face to his chest.
This was the man I had loved for so long. He’d always been cold and distant, but now, I finally had the chance to be close to him.
Unfortunately, he was drunk and had mistaken me for someone else.
“Tessa, why have you changed?” He suddenly grabbed my hand.

It wouldn’t do for him to realize the truth.
Bracing myself, I helped Caden down the hill.
I got the driver and Lilian to assist me, and together, we managed to get him into the car.
“Let’s go back,” I instructed.
The driver hesitated. “Are we sending Mr. Holbrook to Eclipse Manor?”
“Of course not! We’re going home!” I snapped and glared at him.
This was a rare opportunity to be close to Caden. There was no way I’d waste it.
The driver quickly turned the car around and sped home.

Meanwhile, Caden leaned against the back seat. His handsome face was slightly flushed from the alcohol. The usual cold, distant aura he carried was replaced by a soft demeanor.
My heart raced as I stared at him.
He murmured softly, “Tessa… Tessa…
”
“I’m here,” I whispered, grabbing his hand.
“Tessa, don’t leave me,” he mumbled, gripping my hand tightly.
His warm, calloused hand sent heat coursing through me.
“Drive faster,” I urged the driver.
“Wendy, who is Tessa?” Lilian asked curiously.
I glared at her. “Mind your own business and get out.”
After dumping the nosy Lilian by the roadside, I had the driver speed all the way home.
Once there, I carefully helped Caden out of the car, into my room, and onto my bed.
I stripped off my wet clothes and gazed at him.
“Caden, I’ll be your Luna tonight.”
Rosaline’s POV:
By the time I finished work, it was already past 10 p.m..
Oddly, Caden hadn’t called me all day.
I took a cab back to New Moon City.
The house was pitch dark and empty.
I looked around after turning on the lights Caden woen’t home

Chapter 79 I Am Tessa
It puzzled me. If he wasn’t at the office and he wasn’t here, where could he be?
He hadn’t mentioned any business meetings in the evenings.
Was he sulking because I told him to stay out of my business earlier today?
I raised an eyebrow exasperatedly. Did he think he was so important?
I went to my room and texted Yura to check on Loe Studio’s progress.
Yura quickly replied, “Everything’s fine.”
I opened my laptop, clicked on a hidden folder, and began tweaking my latest gown design.
By the time I finished, it was already 1 a.m., and Caden still wasn’t home.
This had never happened before.
Even if he was busy, he’d at least text or call.
I wondered if something could have happened to him.
A gnawing worry crept into my heart. After some hesitation, I picked up my phone and called him.
The phone rang a few times before a woman’s voice was heard.
“Hello, who’s this?”
A woman?
She sounded familiar.
Was that… Wendy?
