Counterback of the Despised Luna
Chapter 83 Wendy Is Tessa?
The distant wail of a police siren grew louder as it neared the shores of Lover’s Lake.
Soon, two werewolf officers stepped out of the squad car, one male and one female.

As soon as Queenie spotted the officers, she rushed forward, pointing at me. “It’s her! She’s the one who pushed Stella into the lake!”
The male officer, scanning the scene, glanced down at Stella’s motionless body on the ground. “What happened here?” he asked.
“She fell into Lover’s Lake and drowned.”
Jasper was about to explain, but Queenie interrupted him eagerly. “No! She didn’t fall in by herself! Rosaline pushed her into the water! My friend and I both saw it!”
Tyler, stepping up beside Queenie, added his voice to the accusation. “We both saw it. We can testify!”
The two officers exchanged a look before the female officer spoke, “Is that what happened?”
“No, it’s not,” Jasper replied firmly, shaking his head.
“Jasper, by the time you got here, Stella was already in the water. You didn’t see anything, so why should we believe you? Rosaline pushed her!” Queenie pressed.
Jasper gave a dismissive grunt. “Just because Rosaline is trying to save Stella now doesn’t mean she’s guilty. If she had pushed Stella, why would she be trying so hard to bring her back?”
While Queenie continued accusing me, I hadn’t stopped performing CPR on Stella.
One of the officers came over to assist, but I shook my head. As an Alpha, CPR was a simple task for me.
Queenie, however, wasn’t giving up. “Can’t you see? Rosaline is faking it. Stella’s dead, and she’s just acting like a hero to cover her crime,” Queenie sneered. “Trying to revive a dead body–how absurd.”
“Shut up! She’s not dead!” I snapped. With that, I pressed harder, and Stella finally coughed up water.
Queenie stumbled back, startled.
Just then, an ambulance arrived, and paramedics rushed over with their equipment.
“Officers, what’s the situation?” one paramedic asked urgently.
The male officer pointed to Stella. “She fell into the lake.”
Once the medical team took over, I stood up, stretched my wrists, and briefed them. “She was under for a while. I’ve been doing CPR for about 30 minutes. She has a faint pulse, but the lake water might have been tainted with wolfsbane. She may need an antidote. It’s not looking good.”
“Okay, I got it.” The doctor nodded, signaling to the paramedics to get Stella into the ambulance and rush her to the hospital.
I exhaled slowly. Whether Stella could survive this was in the hands of fate. I had done all I could.

I opened my mouth to speak, but Queenie jumped in again. “I already told you! Rosaline pushed Stella into the lake! She waited until Stella was nearly drowned, then pretended to save her with CPR!”
“Queenie, shut up!” I glared at her before turning to the officers. “Here’s the truth. We came to the lake for a shoot today. While I was scouting, Stella–who was in wolf form–attacked me, trying to push me into the water. She said she had put wolfsbane in the lake to drown me. I managed to dodge, but she fell in herself.”
The female officer raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Wolfsbane?” Quickly, she walked to the edge of the lake, collecting a sample of the water.
“You’re lying! It made sense you wouldn’t admit to killing someone!” Queenie shouted. “Officers, don’t listen to her! My friend and I saw it! Rosaline pushed Stella into the lake!” Queenie still insisted I had committed a crime.
After securing the water sample, the female officer cleared her throat. “In that case, please come with us to the station to give your statements.”
Caden’s POV:
When I woke up, it was already past 10:00 a.m..
The first thing I noticed was the elegant crystal chandelier overhead.
This wasn’t my room!
I shot up, alarmed, scanning the unfamiliar surroundings, trying to figure out where I was.
Just then, the door creaked open, and a woman with an alluring figure, dressed in a red silk nightgown, entered with a graceful stride.
It was Wendy.
“Caden, you’re awake? I made you breakfast,” she said with a soft, adoring smile.
“Wendy? What are you doing here?” I asked, my face hardening.
Wendy’s smile didn’t falter. She looked at me warmly. “This is my room. Where else would I be?”
“Your room?” I was stunned.
This had to be a joke, right? I clearly remembered being at my father’s grave last night. How did I end up in Wendy’s
room?
“You got drunk last night. I brought you back here,” Wendy explained, her hips swaying as she moved to sit beside me on the bed.
I rubbed my temples, trying to clear the haze in my head. I had definitely drunk a lot at my father’s grave, stumbling around in a drunken stupor.
But what happened after that?
I vaguely remembered seeing Tessa last night …
“Tessa…” I muttered without thinking.

Wendy’s expression shifted, a shy, almost teasing glint in her eyes. She gazed at me, biting her lip. “Caden,
the truth is… I’m Tessa.”
“You’re Tessa?” I stared at Wendy, my eyes narrowing.
That was impossible.
Wendy didn’t hesitate. She nodded, meeting my stunned gaze. “Yes. Remember when we were both kidnapped years ago?”
