Chapter 84 Something Happened to Rosaline
Wendy’s POV:
Last night, Caden was completely intoxicated and repeatedly muttered Tessa’s name.
But who exactly was this Tessa?
From the way Caden spoke, it seemed like this person had always held a special place in his heart.
Curious, I immediately instructed my team to look into it.

What I found was a bit surprising. Caden had been obsessed with a woman nicknamed Tessa, someone he had been kidnapped with when they were young.
I was ecstatic when I heard about this. I had always thought Caden loved Rosaline, but it seemed like that wasn’t the case.
Tessa had been on his mind for years, yet he hadn’t been able to track her down. The possibility that she might even be dead made the situation more interesting.
Now, I saw an opportunity. Since Tessa had been missing for so long, why not pretend to be her? That way, I could easily step into the role of Luna for the Eclipse Pack, without anyone questioning it.
Caden had been drunk last night, so anything I said now would probably make sense to him.
I leaned toward Caden, looking him in the eyes with a gentle smile. “Caden, it’s been so long. Let’s never be apart again, okay?”
His face remained cold and unreadable. He wasn’t reacting the way I hoped, but I wasn’t going to give up that easily. I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding on tightly.
“Caden, deep down, I know you’ve always loved me. Just like I’ve always loved you. Right?” I said, my voice low but full of longing.
Caden was truly mesmerizing. His cold demeanor only made my heart race faster. Even his indifference couldn’t stop me from feeling drawn to him.
I prayed to the Moon Goddess, wishing that time could freeze right here, so I could stay with the man I loved forever.
Caden’s POV:
The overwhelming scent of Wendy’s perfume hit me. It was nothing like Tessa’s fragrance, and certainly not what I expected.
I had never heard of the Wild Pack’s young lady being kidnapped either, so this whole situation felt off.
And the woman in front of me didn’t feel anything like Tessa–there was no way this could be her.
Realization hit me hard, and I roughly pushed Wendy away, my voice icy. “Get away.”
Wendy stumbled back, falling to the floor. She looked up at me, her eyes full of hurt. “Caden, why are you doing this to me?”

“I am Tessa!” Wendy cried out, unwilling to face the truth. She scrambled to her feet and insisted, “Last night, you were drunk. You were calling out my name. You said you loved me, that I was the only woman you cared about. You kissed me, and we even… Don’t you remember?”
I frowned, trying to recall what had happened, but it was all a blur.
“Edward, did I sleep with her last night?” I asked my inner wolf.
Edward’s voice was low but reassuring. “I wish you had, but you were more resistant than I thought. Despite all her advances, you remained indifferent.”
Relief washed over me. I hadn’t slept with Wendy.
I stood up and looked down at Wendy with contempt. “Wendy, you’re delusional. You need help. Stop acting crazy.”
“What? You think I’m crazy?” she retorted, her teeth clenched as she grabbed my arm. “You were with me the whole time last night. We were all alone in the room, and we even did unspeakable things. You need to take responsibility.”
I tried to pull away from her, but she clung to me even tighter.
I couldn’t tolerate her persistence. With a forceful push, I shoved her off and stormed out of the room.
Outside, I immediately reached for my phone, but it had died.
I turned it on, seeing a barrage of missed calls and messages.
“Mr. Holbrook, there’s an outdoor ad shoot at Lover’s Lake today. It’s almost time. Will you be attending?”
“Mr. Holbrook, your phone was off, and we couldn’t reach you. We’ve already left.”
It was my Beta, Yale. I glanced at my watch, realizing it was already nearly noon.
I had completely forgotten about the shoot at Lover’s Lake today. I was supposed to meet Rosaline there to supervise the ad shoot for Ice and Fire, but now …
I cursed under my breath, frustrated with myself for getting so drunk the night before. It had given Wendy the perfect chance to manipulate me.
Suddenly, my phone rang again. It was Yale.
“Mr. Holbrook, I’ve finally reached you,” he said urgently. “Ms. Sinclair is in trouble.”
Something happened to Rosaline?
I froze, my heart skipping a beat. “What happened to Rosaline?”
“Queenie’s accusing her of pushing Stella into the water. The police are taking her in for questioning,” Yale explained.
“I’m on my way.” I hung up quickly and rushed toward the door.

I followed Caden, barely hearing the mention of Rosaline and Stella in his phone conversation.
Judging by the time, Stella’s plan should’ve worked by now,

His hurried pace made it clear something serious was going on with Rosaline,
Maybe she had already drowned, and if that was the case, I’d be in for quite the show.
I caught up to Caden and asked, “Caden, has something happened? Where are you headed? Let me drive you there–it’ll be faster.”
Given that the Wild Pack’s estate was far from the main town, getting a cab would be nearly impossible. I figured he’d accept my offer if he needed to rush to see Rosaline.
As I expected, Caden hesitated for a moment before nodding. I felt a surge of excitement as I led him to the
garage.
We both got into the car, and I casually asked, “Caden, where are we going?”
“To the police station,” he replied, his brow furrowed with worry.
I blinked, confused. Why would we be going to the police station?
Wasn’t he supposed to be going to Lover’s Lake to check on Rosaline’s body?
