I glanced at the reporter–a young werewolf woman in her early twenties.
For an event as significant as Eclipse Group’s product launch, media outlets typically send seasoned journalists. Her youth raised suspicions–there was likely some manipulation behind the scenes, perhaps involving Heartstone Jewels.
I maintained a composed smile. “Miss, please watch your words. If you continue making malicious assumptions and accusations against Eclipse Group, we reserve the right to take legal action.”
The reporter seemed prepared. “My apologies, Ms. Sinclair. I’m merely raising a question–one that, I believe, many here share. Why does Eclipse Group’s design resemble Heartstone Jewels‘ so closely? Can you provide a reasonable explanation?”
The journalists‘ eyes were all on me, cameras zooming in on my face.
Though I sneered internally, I kept my expression gracious and poised. “As everyone knows, Heartstone Jewels unveiled ‘Unbound‘ to the media two days ago. Our ‘Ice and Fire, however, predates that launch.”
“Ms. Sinclair, do you have evidence to prove that Eclipse Group’s ‘Ice and Fire‘ came before Heartstone Jewels‘ ‘Unbound“?” the reporter pressed, her tone unyielding.
I spoke firmly, “The promotional video you just saw was filmed three days ago. The ‘Ice and Fire‘ prototype
was completed over a week ago. This timeline can be verified by many, including the spokesperson featured in our video.”
That’s right. I can confirm it.” Jasper, seated in the guest area, stood up and addressed the crowd with sincerity. “Eclipse Group approached me for this endorsement a week ago, and Ms. Sinclair showed me the ‘Ice and Fire‘ prototype at that time. Mr. Collins was also present.”
Jasper, a renowned actor, spoke with such conviction that the reporters nodded in agreement, seemingly reassured by his testimony.
I continued, “In short, Eclipse Group’s prototype was completed over a week ago. Many of you here are experienced professionals in the jewelry industry and understand that creating a design and producing a prototype takes at least two weeks. Heartstone Jewels released ‘Unbound‘ just two days ago, So, how could we have plagiarized their design?”
“Ms. Sinclair is absolutely correct,” Bruce stood and added. “I can also confirm that the ‘Ice and Fire‘ design was completed earlier. Ms. Sinclair showed me the sketches over two weeks ago.”
I allowed myself a faint smile. “Now, I trust it’s clear–Eclipse Group would never stoop to plagiarism. It’s a disgraceful act we have no part in.”
“That’s a strong claim, Ms. Sinclair,” the young reporter interjected, refusing to back down.
“We’re all aware that Mr. Collins is a collaborator with Eclipse Group, and the ‘Ice and Fire‘ line is a joint effort with Fostrau. Naturally, Mr. Collins‘ statement might be biased. She paused before delivering her final blow. “Therefore, their testimonies are unreliable. The truth is, you plagiarized Heartstone Jewels!”
I let out a cold laugh, fixing my gaze on her. “Since you’re so adamant about accusing us of plagiarism, let me show you something–a video provided by the police.”
The reporter froze, clearly puzzled as to what I was about to reveal. Her eyes locked on the large screen as the video began to play.
The footage showed the outdoor shoot we did at Lovers‘ Lake a few days ago.
I explained to everyone that the video was recorded because of the incident involving Stella at that time, and Queenie called the werewolf officer after reporting it.
When the werewolf officer was taking statements, he also asked our spokesperson Naomi, who was wearing the “Ice and Fire” jewelry, and the werewolf officer taking the statement captured it on camera.
The clip ended with a close–up of Naomi’s accessories, highlighted with red circles for clarity.
Turning to the reporter, I asked, “Miss, after seeing this, are you suggesting even Rivemon’s police force is biased toward Eclipse Group?”
Her expression shifted, stunned into silence as she stared at the screen.
I smiled faintly and addressed the audience. “The truth is now self–evident. I trust everyone here is capable of discerning right from wrong.”
Another reporter stood to ask, “Ms. Sinclair, if ‘Ice and Fire‘ was indeed designed before ‘Unbound,‘ does that mean Heartstone Jewels may have plagiarized Eclipse Group?”
I met the audience’s gaze, my tone steely. “That possibility cannot be ruled out. Eclipse Group reserves the right to pursue this matter.”
No sooner had I finished speaking than a sharp female voice cut through the room. “What if I told you my design was published in a fashion magazine two months ago?”
