What a spectacular turn of events!

The so–called plagiarism scandal had only served to make the Ice and Fire launch a resounding success.
The moment the press conference ended, numerous companies approached us, expressing interest in securing distribution rights for Ice and Fire.
I was more than satisfied with the outcome.
Rosaline, clearly in high spirits, announced a celebratory banquet to be held at the Heartstone Hotel in Rivemon–the same hotel where I was staying. After congratulating her in advance, I headed back to my room to rest before the evening festivities.
As the banquet drew near, I was getting ready when the doorbell rang.
I assumed it was housekeeping and casually opened the door, only to find Annie standing outside.
I froze for a moment, surprised she dared to show up.
“Annie, what are you doing here?” I asked impatiently, giving her a cold look. “I’ve already made it clear- we’re done.”
“I know,” she said softly, her gaze downcast, looking unusually meek. “Bruce, I’m not here to cause trouble.”
I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. “Then why are you here?”
She bit her lip and hesitated for a moment before saying, “I know I was wrong before, especially toward Ms. Sinclair. I shouldn’t have hated her. She was right to reprimand me–I deserved it. I feel deeply sorry for my past behavior.”
After a pause, she continued, “That’s why I’m here to ask you for a favor. Please take me to the banquet tonight. I want to apologize to Rosaline in person.”
I studied her carefully. Annie’s attitude seemed sincere.
“Bruce,” she pleaded, her voice trembling slightly, “I genuinely want to make amends. Please give me a chance to apologize to her.”
After a moment’s hesitation, I nodded. “Fine.” If she truly intended to turn over a new leaf, I was willing to give her that chance. After all, she had once been someone I cared about.
Rosaline’s POV:
The banquet was set to begin at 8:00 PM.
By 7:00 PM, many of the invited elites and socialites had already arrived at the grand ballroom. Cameras flashed incessantly as reporters mingled with the guests, their equipment ready to capture every moment.
I stood at the entrance with Caden, greeting the arriving guests. As soon as the reporters spotted us, they swarmed toward us like bees to honey.

Dressed in a perfectly tailored black tuxedo, Caden’s commanding presence was impossible to ignore. His broad shoulders and confident stance made him the center of attention, stealing the spotlight effortlessly.
The reporters immediately shoved their microphones toward him.
“Mr. Holbrook, is tonight’s banquet being held in Ms. Sinclair’s honor?”

“Mr. Holbrook, are you and Ms. Sinclair planning to make an official announcement soon?”
Yale, our security lead, stepped in just in time to intercept the barrage. “Apologies, Mr. Holbrook is not accepting interviews at the moment.”
I sighed, glancing at Caden helplessly. “These reporters really don’t hold back, do they?”
Caden chuckled. “As the future Luna of Eclipse Pack, you’ll need to get used to occasions like this.”
There it was again. Why did he keep bringing the future Luna up?
Hadn’t I made myself clear enough already?
Feeling a bit awkward, I changed the subject. “By the way, how did you figure out it was Jeremy who stole the designs and sold them to Marilyn?”
“Yale investigated,” Caden said, his eyes narrowing slightly. “It wasn’t difficult to figure out. Only a handful of people had access to the Ice and Fire designs.”
“But Jeremy wasn’t even part of the Ice and Fire project,” I pointed out, puzzled.
“Winnie was,” Caden replied coolly. “And Jeremy is Winnie’s boyfriend.”
“Oh, I see,” I said, the pieces falling into place. But something still felt off. “Why would Jeremy do something like this? He must’ve known it would jeopardize not only his job but also Winnie’s career.”
Caden’s expression remained indifferent. “He claimed it was for the money.”
For money? Selling out his girlfriend like that?
Maybe money was a powerful motivator, but I couldn’t shake the feeling there was more to the story.
Caden suddenly leaned closer, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “Now it’s my turn to ask you something.”
“Me?
“Me? What do you want to ask?”
His gaze flicked to the cameras before he gave a dazzling smile for the reporters, then leaned down to whisper in my ear, “What’s your relationship with Yura? And when did you sign that patent document? Why didn’t I know about it?”
I blinked, momentarily caught off guard.
There was no way I could tell him that I was Loe.

After a brief pause, I decided to deflect. With a playful smile, I winked at him and said, “Take a guess.”
Wendy’s POV:
Watching Rosaline and Caden whispering to each other made me want to vomit.
“Look at her,” Lilian sneered beside me. “That seductive little vixen. Men just fall for her tricks.”
I clenched my fists, glaring at Rosaline. “Well, if she loves seducing men so much, let’s make sure she gets her fill tonight.”
“You have something planned?” Lilian asked curiously.
I smirked and leaned in to whisper my scheme in her car.
Her eyes lit up with understanding, and she gave me a thumbs–up. “Wendy, you’re brilliant! This way, we can ruin Rosaline without anyone suspecting us.”
“Exactly.” I nodded, feeling a surge of satisfaction.
I’d been preparing for this night for a long time.
“Once Annic plays her part, we’ll make sure Caden and the reporters are there to witness it. I want Caden to see exactly how his ‘perfect fiancée‘ behaves in public. Let’s see if he still treasures her after this!”
Lilian chuckled approvingly. “Caden’s way too proud to tolerate that kind of humiliation. Rosaline will be finished.”
“Precisely,” I said, my eyes narrowing as I watched Rosaline. “Caden’s been blinded by her charms for too long. Tonight, I’ll make sure he sees her true, disgraceful colors.”
Lilian nodded eagerly. “And once Caden kicks her out, you’ll be the one standing by his side as the future Luna of Eclipse Pack.”
Her words were music to my ears. Smiling smugly, I scanned the banquet hall. “By the way, where’s Annie? She’s key to tonight’s plan. She better not flake out on us.”
Lilian pointed toward the entrance, excitement creeping into her tone. “There she is–Annie just arrived with Bruce!”
Perfect.
I smirked.
Rosaline, get ready. Your perfect little world is about to crumble.
