Stella froze for a brief second, but quickly collected herself. A storm of hatred and disgust boiled in her eyes. “Rosaline, you murderer! How dare you show up here?!”
The reporters, sensing the tension, whipped their cameras around to catch every moment. They were eager to capture every detail, not wanting to miss a single word. They clearly hadn’t expected me, the so–called “killer,” to make an appearance.
But my arrival only made things more dramatic. It was exactly what the reporters wanted–a heated confrontation between us would turn this into an even bigger spectacle, stirring up views and buzz for their broadcast.
One of the reporters, practically bouncing with anticipation, quickly asked, “Ms. Sinclair, both Ms. Dixon and Ms. Holbrook have just described the incident at Lover’s Lake, each accusing you of pushing Ms. Dixon into the water. What’s your response to that?”
I let out a light laugh. “Queenie, did you really see me push Stella into the water?”
“Of course I did. My classmates and I saw it happen,” Queenie replied without hesitation, her voice unwavering.
“Is that so?” I smirked, turning my gaze toward Stella. “Well, Stella, what about you? Are you absolutely certain it was me who pushed you into the water?”
“Of course! You’re a vicious person–you wanted me dead! How could I have mistaken it? Even if I were blind, I’d still recognize you. You were the one who pushed me!” Stella snapped, her face twisted with fury and her eyes blazing with hatred.
“Well then, Stella,” I said, my voice laced with icy calm, “since you’re so sure I tried to kill you, I have to ask- you’re still alive, aren’t you? Who pulled you out of the water?”
Stella froze, her eyes flashing with frustration. “I–I passed out! I wasn’t conscious! How could I know?”
I smiled, unaffected by her words.
“Queenie, what about you?” I crossed my arms, locking eyes with her. “You say you saw me push Stella into the water. So you must’ve also seen who saved her, right?”
Queenie hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her face. “I think … it was Jasper.”
“Jasper, did you save her?” I raised my voice slightly, glancing toward the door.
The mention of Jasper’s name immediately sent a ripple of excitement through the reporters.
Jasper? This was going to explode the viewership!
With all eyes on him, Jasper walked into the room, casually removing his hat and sunglasses to re I his striking features.
“Oh, my God, it’s really Jasper!”
Jasper rarely made public appearances, so the reporters were practically falling over themselves to get a glimpse of him. Some had spent countless sleepless nights just trying to snap a photo of him.

One eager reporter wasted no time, asking, “Jasper, were you at Lover’s Lake the day of the incident?”
“Yes,” Jasper answered casually, giving a small nod.
“Did you witness what happened? Did you see Rosaline push Stella into the water?”
Jasper cleared his throat and answered in his usual calm tone, “No, that’s not what happened. I was at Lover’s Lake with Rosaline and the others for a photo shoot. Rosaline had gone off to scout the perfect spot, and when I arrived, I saw Stella had already fallen into the water. Fortunately, Rosaline didn’t hesitate and jumped in to save her. After that, I called for help, and together we got Stella out.”
The reporters exchanged confused glances, their skepticism clear.

Sensing their doubt, Jasper took out his phone and showed them a video. “Here’s the footage I took. You can see for yourselves.”
In the video, I was shown performing CPR on Stella, my actions smooth and precise.
“You all saw it,” I continued, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips. “If I had really pushed Stella into the water, why would I go through the trouble of saving her? Wouldn’t that be ridiculous?”
The reporters glanced at each other, their expressions now filled with doubt. Their attention shifted from Stella to me, their skepticism growing.
Seeing the reporters‘ shift in attitude, Queenie quickly stepped in. “It’s because at the time, you thought Stella was already dead! The CPR you gave was just for show, to clear your name!”
“Ms. Holbrook,” I scoffed, “do you really think I’m as foolish as you? You can’t even tell the difference between the living and the dead?”
A few reporters stifled their laughs at my words, clearly amused by the exchange.
Queenie’s face darkened, her temper rising. “Rosaline, don’t think a few clever words will cover up your premeditated crime!”
“That’s right!” Stella shouted, clutching her chest. Her eyes were filled with venom. “No matter what your reason for saving me was, it doesn’t change the fact that you tried to kill me by pushing me into the water!”
“Is that so?” I narrowed my eyes, my voice turning sharp. “And who exactly was it who tried to kill me? Just days ago, in Eclipse Group’s underground garage, who turned into a wolf and tried to tear me apart?”
