Chapter 100 Rosaline Looks Like Tessa
Thad to admit this; I didn’t have the best impression of Rosaline at first.

At the time, I thought she was just another materialistic female werewolf marrying into wealth for money.
But after spending a month with her, my perspective has completely changed.
Her exceptional capability at work, her strong independent personality–she’s unlike any female werewolf
I’ve ever met.
In fact, many times I found myself inexplicably drawn to her. When she faced difficulties, I would instinctively want to jump in to help and protect her.
This attraction was truly strange.
Sometimes, I even found myself hoping that three months from now, after becoming Alpha, the Moon Goddess would tie us together with the red thread of fate making her my destined mate.
Rosaline was silent for a full minute. She took a deep breath, then calmly asked, “Caden, I have a question for you.”
“What?” I asked, slightly confused.
She looked at me, her face unreadable, and said, “Could you tell me about Tessa?”
Tessa…
That’s when I realized–lately, I had been thinking less and less about Tessa.
I stared at Rosaline’s captivating face and spoke quietly, “What do you want to know?”
“The one you really love is her, right?”
Rosaline’s POV:
After I asked calmly, Caden fell silent.
He opened the drawer of the nightstand, pulled out a cigar, and lit it with a lighter.
With his long fingers holding the cigar, he exhaled a plume of smoke. Caden coldly furrowed his brow with a trace of sadness lingered in his expression.
The flame at his fingertips flickered, gradually fading as the cigar burned down, and only then did Caden speak in a deep somber voice. “Tessa … she was the girl who was kidnapped with me when we were younger.”
Kidnapped?
I frowned.
If I remember correctly, Caden had asked me a few times before.
“Rosaline, have you ever been kidnapped?”
“Are you sure? You’ve never been kidnapped?”

At the time, I thought his questions were strange. Now, I’m wondering–was Caden seeing me as Tessa?
Or maybe I was just a substitute for Tessa?
Caden looked out the window and spoke slowly. “Back then, the kidnappers‘ target was me. Tessa just happened to pass by and got caught up in it. We were both locked in a dark little cabin for several days with no light, no hope.”
“And then?” I asked.
“We found a chance to escape, but Tessa fell off a cliff while trying to save me.” Caden’s eyes clouded with sorrow. “At that time, I wasn’t strong enough to save her. I could only watch as she fell into the abyss.”
Caden turned and looked at me, “All these years, I haven’t given up searching for her, but I haven’t found anything.”
I fell silent.
That came as a surprise; I hadn’t expected the relationship between Tessa and Caden to be so tragic.
Tessa had fallen off a cliff to save him, and there was little hope she survived.
Young love is often the most passionate, and to lose your life for the one you love–no wonder Caden couldn’t let Tessa go.
“Do I look a lot like Tessa?” I finally asked Caden the question that had been on my mind for so long.
He froze.
I looked at him, and he met my gaze.
Somehow, I wanted to hear the answer, but at the same time, I wasn’t sure I wanted to.
knew that in Caden’s heart, Tessa was still the girl she had been, and her death was the scar he could never heal.
Tessa would always stand between us.
I admit, I’ve begun to fall for him.
It’s not uncommon in the werewolf world for someone to abandon their destined mate for someone they love.
Jasper did it, and now Caden seemed to be considering it.
But I had made my decision in the bathroom earlier–I must take responsibility for the future of the Shadow Pack.
Still, I wanted to know his true feelings.
I waited for Caden’s response.
After a few seconds, he gave me a long meaningful look and softly admitted, “Yes, you look very much like
her.”
My heart sank inexplicably.

“You have the exact same scent she once had.” Caden’s gaze was intense.
I turned my face away.
Why did my heart hurt?

Now, everything made sense–Caden’s ambiguous gestures toward me, how he had protected me, helped me find evidence when Stella framed me.
Even the words he’d just said, “Maybe we should give it a try?”
It was all because I looked like Tessa.
Fine, I got the answer I was looking for.
Taking a few deep breaths, I turned to face Caden, my voice cold.
“Caden, listen to me. I am Rosaline, and I am unique in this world! I am not Tessa. I am no one’s substitute!
“My future husband must love me wholeheartedly. He must love only me and no one else. He cannot see me as someone else’s replacement!
“So, Caden, there is no possibility for us!
“I will never be your Luna!”
