Chapter 102 Is the Plagiarism Justified?

Heartstone Jewels had long been a dominant force in the jewelry industry, a well–established name in the country. But ever since I got involved, Eclipse Group started venturing into the jewelry business, and Heartstone Jewels‘ competitive edge began to fade away.
I was confident that once we launched the Ice and Fire collection, Eclipse Group’s jewelry would defeat Heartstone Jewels and seize an even larger market share.
Given the circumstances, it wasn’t surprising that Heartstone Jewels was making a counterattack.
But what shocked me was that Marilyn, an internationally renowned jewelry designer had copied my designs.
Aren’t these people shameless?
As I was pondering, Caden’s call came through. “Come to my office.”
After we cleared things up that night at the old mansion, Caden and I had gradually adapted to working together. Now, when we faced each other at work, it was much less awkward.
Arriving at Caden’s office, I saw him leaning back in his chair, and he asked in a low voice, “Did you see the news about Heartstone Jewels today?”
“I did.” I nodded and showed him my phone.
Caden frowned. “How did this happen?”
I pressed my lips together, looking at him. “What if I told you Marilyn copied my design? Would you -believe me?”
“I would,” Caden answered calmly, his voice steady.
My heart warmed. He truly believed in me without question.
“But right now, the situation isn’t looking good for us,” Caden said, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the table.
“I know.” I rubbed my temples and spoke in a low voice. “Heartstone Jewels released this design across the internet, and our press conference isn’t for another two days. By then, everyone will think we copied Heartstone Jewels.”
Even though Heartstone Jewels had only released a few design sketches and some descriptions, they were already ahead in the game. By the time our press conference happened, everyone would assume Heartstone Jewels was the original.
Clearly, this was a targeted attack on Eclipse Group.
But one thing still bothered me–how did Marilyn get access to my design?
Could there be a mole inside Eclipse Group?
Caden seemed to have reached the same conclusion. He gave a small, knowing smile and spoke coldly, “I’ll get to the bottom of this. We’ll find out how your design ended up with Heartstone Jewels. But, I think we’ll need to postpone the press conference. If we go ahead without solid proof, it could easily backfire, and

1 shook my head and said softly, “No need to postpone.”
Caden raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised.
I smiled softly. “If you trust me, let’s proceed with the press conference as planned.”

Without hesitation, Caden smiled back at me and nodded. “Alright, I’ll leave the press conference entirely in your hands.”
“No problem!” I replied confidently.
As I left his office and returned to my desk, I saw Sabrina storming toward me, her expression fierce.
“Rosaline, did you plagiarized?” Sabrina didn’t hold back as she confronted me.
I glanced at her coldly and rebutted, “Which eye of yours saw me plagiarizing?”
Sabrina slammed a newspaper onto my desk, her voice rising. “Look at this! Your design is a complete copy of Marilyn’s!”
I glanced down at the paper, and the contents mirrored what I had seen earlier on my phone.
So, even Sabrina believed I had copied?
I lifted my chin and spoke calmly. “I didn’t.”
“Rosaline, the evidence is right here. Are you still trying to deny it? Do you realize the trouble your plagiarism is going to cause for the company?” Sabrina’s voice grew louder, as if she wanted everyone around to hear and believe I was guilty.
As the head of the design department, Sabrina had previously been humiliated by my critique of her designs. Now, it seemed like she was seizing the chance to make me pay.
But her expression was so serious, it was clear she truly thought I was guilty.
I wasn’t about to take the blame for this.
“I don’t know about the company’s troubles,” I interrupted, “but I think you might have some.”
Sabrina blinked in surprise. “What trouble could I have?”
I spoke coolly, “As the head of the design department, you can’t even tell the difference between original designs and copies. Don’t you feel ashamed of yourself?”
Sabrina’s POV:
Rosaline had the nerve to mock me in front of everyone again?
She’s the one who plagiarized, yet she act so righteous?
“What do you mean by that?” I furiously shot back.
Rosaline shrugged. “Just take it literally.”
“Stop trying to confuse people. The fact is, you plagiarized!” I said loudly, emphasizing the word plagiarized
to make sure everyone heard.

People in the office started turning their attention to us, clearly intrigued.
That was exactly the effect I wanted.
The design for the collection had only been shared with a few of the higher–ups.

The news was already gaining momentum, especially with Marilyn’s fame. Meanwhile, Rosaline was just a small–time secretary, not even worth to be on the radar.
This country bumpkin Omega wouldn’t know anything about jewelry design, right?
She must have stolen the design in a desperate attempt to rise to the top.
Surrounded by skeptical glances, Rosaline remained calm. “Sabrina, is there anything else? If not, please go. I don’t welcome loud dogs barking around here.”
“What?! You’re calling me a dog?” I was furious, almost on the verge of losing control.
Rosaline remained cool as ever. “Did I say that? You said it yourself.”
