Chapter 116 Who Messed With Rosaline?

Being the sensitive bunch they were, the reporters immediately turned their cameras towards me when they heard the word “drugged“.
Bruce, on the other hand, came before me with his brow furrowed as he questioned, “Annie, why would Rosaline want to harm you? Weren’t you here to apologize to her tonight?”
Annie’s eyes flickered. “I did apologize to her sincerely, but she still chose to frame me.”
“That’s enough, Annie,” I smirked coldly, “You were just cutting off your nose to spite your face.”
Being exposed by the reporters was already a punishment for Annie. I didn’t want to add oil to fire.
However, she was relentless and even accused me of drugging her. That was pushing my boundaries.
“Your apology was a mere pretense. You laced my wine. Too bad, now you’re getting a taste of your own medicine.
“Nonsense! I did not!” Annie lost her marbles.
I sneered and threw a piece of paper in her face. “Take a look for yourself. This is the receipt that shows you purchased aphrodisiac.”
After Annie drank the red wine, I had Anthony check her purchase history. The results were as I anticipated.
I took out a few copies of the purchase history and let the reporters take a look.
The reporters couldn’t help but express their disdain when they saw the purchase history.
“So it was really Annie. Who would have thought.”
“That’s despicable. Fortunately, Ms. Sinclair didn’t fall for it!”
Under the barrage of accusations, Annie’s color came and went, and she was left speechless.
“Annie, this is all your own doing. You brought this on yourself,” I said before I left.
This place was so filthy and disgusting, I couldn’t bear being here for another second.
Annie’s name was now mud. She even bit Rogue to his death. While she might escape serious consequences due to Rogue’s lowly position, she would never be able to redeem herself.
“Rosaline, where are you going?” Caden’s voice was heard from behind.
“Home,” I replied nonchalantly.
After a long night, I was totally exhausted.
“Let’s go together,” said Caden.
“Go where?” I responded with a bitter laugh, “Aren’t you off to Wendy for a dance?”

Caden walked next to me. He smiled and replied, “You’re jealous.”
“What? No.” I gave Caden a glare.
Jealous? Who did he think he was?
Just then, the elevator had arrived.
With a sudden powerful tug, Caden pulled me into the elevator.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I said as I took a step back, wary of this man.
He stepped closer and raised an eyebrow. “You’re jealous, aren’t you?” he said.

“Jealous? Mr. Holbrook, don’t flatter yourself.” I rubbed my temples and looked away, avoiding his gaze.
“Why don’t you just admit it?” Caden had pinned me against the elevator wall.
There was barely any space in the elevator. I was cornered by him.
The tension in the air started to amplify.
“Alpha, if he tries anything funny, I’m coming out,” Freya said casually.
“Mind your own business,” I responded to Freya.
The elevator doors opened. The tension was finally broken.
“I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about,” I pushed past Caden,
“You go ahead. I have something to attend to,” I said.
“At this hour? What could you possibly have to do?” Caden squinted.
I smirked and replied coldly, “It’s not your concern. Just leave me alone.”
I strode towards the door and hailed a cab.
In the cab, a sense of unease took over me. Tonight had been a whirlwind of chaos.
Even though I reveled in the satisfaction of seeing Annie being humbled, her current predicament left me strangely unsettled.
I wasn’t feeling pity for her.
However, I wasn’t happy with what had happened to her either.
I fished out my phone and texted Yura.
“Let’s go for a drink.”

When I arrived at Chroma Lounge, Yura was already there waiting.
“Over here!” Yura waved to me..
I walked over and sat down next to Yura. 1
“One cocktail please.”
Yura handed me the drink and looked at me with a smile as she asked, “What’s up?”
“Nothing.” I chugged the cocktail.
“Let me take a guess, was it Caden?”

As soon as I heard the name, my blood began to boil. I slammed by glass down in frustration. “Please, can we change the subject?”
“I see I was right.” Yura smirked, “Caden is quite someone, isn’t he? I’ve heard about him when I was abroad. He is even more captivating in person.”
“Captivating? What a joke.” I rubbed my temples in frustration. The words that he said in the elevator kept replaying in my mind.
“He is tall, handsome, rich and powerful. He is also the soon–to–be Alpha of Eclipse Pack. Aren’t you two a perfect match?” Yura smirked.
I chugged another glass of wine. “Perfect match? My foot.”
Yura cleared her throat and said, “My eyes are as sharp as a hawk. At the press conference, you two were so in sync. It was like a match made in heaven. Rosaline, please tell me you do feel something for him.”
“Nonsense,” I leaned against the seat and took a deep breath, “There is nothing between us. You should know better than anybody else. It’s just my grandpa. He insisted that I live with him in Rivemon for three months. I made it perfectly clear that it’s only a temporary arrangement.”
Yura shrugged her shoulders. “Alright, my dear Alpha. How about we take a bet?”
“On what?” I replied nonchalantly as I leaned behind to my seat.
Yura smiled. “Let’s see whether you would call off the engagement with Caden three months down the road. If you lose, give me that handmade necklace of yours. How about that?”
