Chapter 120 Because of You
Rosaline’s POV:
The next morning…
I woke up in a daze and found Caden leaning against the bedside with his deep eyes fixed on me.
“Caden, what are you doing on my bed?” I gasped in shock, staring at this man in front of me.
Caden raised an eyebrow, chuckling softly, “Take a closer look, this is my bed.”
I looked around the room, wondering, “Why am I here? What are you up to?”
Caden looked at me and smirked. “Do you not remember what happened last night?”
Last night?
What happened?

I looked at Caden suspiciously while rubbing my temples. My memories gradually coming back to me.
D*mn, I remembered.
I went to a bar with Yura for drinks last night. That’s when I encountered the thug in red shirt and ended up getting drugged.
Then, Caden suddenly showed up and scared them away. I remembered, that was when I felt my body burning up and I lost consciousness.
I vaguely recalled doing some adult things with Caden.
At the thought of this, I quickly checked myself.
Thank goodness, my clothes were still on and there seemed to be nothing unusual about my body.
But still, with Caden next to me, I couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy, “You … didn’t do anything last night, did you?”
Caden looked at me mischievously, “Oh? Are you hoping I did?”
“Of course not!” I glared at him.
I let out a quiet sigh of relief and secretly felt grateful. Luckily Caden appeared last night–at least he’s a decent gentleman. Otherwise, I would have been in danger.
Even an Alpha like me wouldn’t be able to withstand the side effect of wolfsbane combined with aphrodisiac.
“Cough, cough…” Right then, Caden suddenly started coughing.
I asked in confusion, “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
He cleared his throat and replied, “I caught a cold.”

“A cold?” I frowned, “How did you catch a cold all of a sudden?”

Even though he wasn’t an Alpha yet and couldn’t heal as fast, it shouldn’t be that easy for him to fall sick.
Cade looked at me and spoke, “It’s because, of you.”
“Because of me?” I asked him, surprised.
Caden’s POV:
Of course! If it weren’t for you getting drugged and persistently clinging to me, I wouldn’t have had to take a cold shower and caught the cold.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t say that to her face.
While heading downstairs for breakfast, Rosaline’s habitually scrolled through the news on her phone. She suddenly looked up and asked, “Did the thug from last night get caught?”
I took a glance at her phone and saw the news article.
“Breaking News: Police Capture Thugs Threatening Public Safety in Overnight Raid”
There was a photo attached on the article. Sure enough the men in the pictures were the thugs bothering Rosaline last night.
Rosaline put her phone down and stared at me, “This was your doing, wasn’t it?”
“Who else?” I didn’t even look up as I finished my breakfast.
My Beta, Yale, was indeed reliable. It took him less than two hours to track those guys and had them arrested.
“Well done! Scum like them should have been locked up ages ago before they hurt more women.” Rosaline approved.
I nodded and casually said, “Messing with other people is one thing, but messing with you? That’s asking for a death wish.”
Rosaline’s expression changed instantly.
She tried to say something, but remained silent even until I dropped her off to work. Though halfway there, she asked me to stop the car and got me some cold medicine.
Her hot–and–cold behavior confused me.
Rosaline’s POV:
After a busy morning, Caden summoned me to his office around noon.
I thought he was going to ask me joining him for lunch, but instead, I saw Yale standing b
re him.
“What’s going on?” I asked, sensing something was off.
“Ms. Sinclair, Mr. Holbrook wanted me to inform you that we have traced the person who transfered the fund to Isaac ” Yale explained.

“Who is it?” I asked.

Caden walked over and handed me a file, saying, “The transfer came from an abandoned account tied to a shell company named Dayang in Meldoria. The company has been deregistered.”
“What about the legal representative?” I asked.
Caden glanced at Yale, looking helpless and said, “It’s a low–level Omega from Meldoria. A nobody.”
I was speechless.
This matter was getting more complicated as time passed.
Who’s the one pulling the strings behind Isaac?
Was Isaac’s death really just an accident?
“Rosaline, have you ever heard of Dayang?” Caden asked.
“I have no idea. It doesn’t sound like a person or a place I answered. I tried recalling the name but I was sure I’ve never heard of it.
Caden gestured for Yale to leave. That’s when I noticed the cold medicine I bought earlier, still unopened on his desk.
Seriously? You’re not even taking the medicine I bought?
Caden told Yale, “Keep on investigating.”
Yale nodded and left. I walked over, grabbed the cold medicine, poured him a glass of water, and handed them all to him. I said, “This medicine works well, Why aren’t you taking it?”
“It’s too bitter. I don’t want it.”
I thought I misheard him. The dignified Quasi–Alpha of Eclipse Pack was defeated by the bitter taste of a cold medicine?
“Unless …” Caden added.
“Unless what?” I listened to him seriously, but something about his tone didn’t sit right with me.
Caden smirked, “Unless you feed it to me.”
“Caden, don’t push your luck!” I glared at him with hands on hips.
Buying you medicine was already nice enough. Now you wanted me to feed it to you? Dream on!
Caden looked aggrieved, “Is this how you treat your savior? If it weren’t for me last night, that thug could have taken you away.”
I was speechless.
Was this man
sulking?
The usually cold and aloof Caden sulking?

Chapter 120 Because of You
Well…
He did save me last night.
Looking at his gestures, I guess I could agree to his request.
I took out a pill from the bottle and stuffed it into his mouth, warning him, “Only this time!
Caden, however, pursed his lips and bit down my finger gently.

“Uh!” I gasped, quickly pulling my finger away and said “Caden! What are you doing? Why are you biting me?”
Caden stared at me, and with his slightly hoarse voice, he said, “Rosaline, there are two months left.”
I was stunned for a moment and asked, “What two months?”
He took my hand, pulling me over to his arms so I could feel his heartbeat.
“If I, within two months, can make you fall in love with me, can you stay then?”
