Chapter 127 Silence Is the Answer
Wendy’s POV
Finished
I stood rooted to the spot, my mind struggling to grasp the situation before me. The seconds stretched into eternity as the reality slowly, painfully, sank in.
Rosaline–the bold, beneath–it–all Omega–was shamelessly throwing herself at Caden, right before my eyes!
I marched over, the sharp click of my heels echoing through the room, each step fucked by a growing fary. Reaching out, I seized Rosaline’s arm and yanked her away from Caden. “Rosaline, what do you think you’re doing? It’s broad daylight–show some decency?”
She didn’t flinch, not even slightly. Instead, she stood there, casually draping her arms around Caden’s neck pressing herself against him as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“Ms. Crawford,” she purred, her voice dripping with mock sweetness, didn’t anyone teach you how to knock? Interrupting me and my fiancé–how rude”
I was left speechless, stunned by her audacity.
I could only glare at her, imagining how satisfying it would be to make her regret this moment.
To make matters worse, Caden–seemingly unfazed by the scene–wrapped his arm tightly around her waist and looked at me with that cold, piercing gaze. “What do you want?”
I shot Rosaline one last withering glance before turning to face Caden. His handsome features, striking ye detached, made my words stumble out more softly than I’d intended. “Caden, I saw the news Eclipse Group -is facing challenges. If you need assistance, Wild Pack is always ready to help…”
“There’s no need for that,” Caden’s voice cut through my sentence, colder than I had expected.
I held back my frustration, forcing a smile as I tried again. “But I saw that Eclipse Group’s stock price has dropped because of the Ice and Fire incident. If Eclipse Pack and Wild Pack can finalize their deal soon, it will help stabilize the stock. It could be the boost Eclipse Group needs”
Caden’s lips curved into a slight, icy smile. “So, you believe Eclipse Group needs Wild Pack to save its stoc
His gaze was razor–sharp, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees. I flinched, the words tumbling out in haste. “Caden, that’s not what I meant. I just want to help…”
“We don’t need it.” His tone was final, as cold as winter itself. His face was a mask of impatience. “I have other matters to attend to. You can leave now.”
Frustration burned in my chest, and I slammed my foot on the floor, my anger flaring. I shot Rosaline one last furious glare before turning sharply and walking away.
Just wait, Rosaline. Once I’m inside Eclipse Group, you ll wish you’d never crossed me.
Rosaline’s POV:
I tilted my head, glancing at Caden with a sly smile. “Aren’t you going to chase her?”
Caden’s voice was low, tinged with amusement. “What? You want me to go after her?”

“She was only trying to help you,” I said, my tone light, though my insides churned with annoyance. “Aren’t you worried you might hurt Ms. Wendy’s feelings?”
The image of Caden and Wendy dancing together that day flashed in my mind, and it made my stomach twist with jealousy.
“Oh, really?” Caden rested his chin on his hand, pretending to consider my words for a moment. “Well, in that case, I suppose I should chase her after all.”
He stood, as if he were about to follow through on the suggestion.
“You wouldn’t dare!” I blurted, my eyes widening in disbelief. “Caden, you can’t seriously be thinking of chasing her!”
Then, realizing how dramatic I sounded, I quickly waved my hand dismissively. “Go ahead, then. Chase her. I couldn’t care less.”
Caden looked at me, his lips curling into a small, knowing smile. “You’re jealous.”
I glared at him, my cheeks burning. “I’m not!”
I swore, he always knew exactly how to get under my skin.
He was going to drive me mad.
Caden’s lips curved into a faint smile as he leaned closer, his voice smooth and commanding. “Rosaline, the reason I danced with Wendy that day wasn’t because I liked her. It was because I was upset about you being with Jasper.”
His breath grazed my neck, and I couldn’t help but shiver.
I pushed him away, but an unexpected warmth lingered.
Was he actually explaining himself?
I exhaled softly, keeping my voice steady. “You can dance with whoever you want. It’s none of my concern.”
Caden’s gaze deepened, his eyes intense, like a storm ready to break. They pulled me in, dark and endless.
His voice was low, like the deep hum of a cello. “From now on, I’ll dance only with you.”
What?
I blinked, unsure of how to respond.
Was that could it be–a confession?
I studied his impossibly handsome face and smirked. “And Tessa? If she comes back, will you danc her?”
Caden didn’t reply.
His silence weighed on me, sinking my heart lower with every passing second.
I couldn’t help but bring up Tessa.

I knew better than to linger on it, so I gestured to the papers on his desk, my tone icy. “You should go over these. The press conference this afternoon is too important to fail. I’ll get back to my work.”
Caden mumbled something, but I didn’t wait for him to finish. I turned and left the office.
As I closed the door behind me, I paused for a moment in the hallway, a bitter laugh escaping my lips.
I had already known the truth, hadn’t I?
To Caden, I was just a ghost of Tessa.
