Chapter 135 Proposal
Caden’s POV:
Every word from Rosaline’s voice drifted clearly into my cars.
She actually cares about me this much.
Yale glanced at me, waiting for my cue. I slightly nodded, and he said, “Please hold on a moment.”
I laid back down, closing my eyes, but left a small gap to barely see outside.
Yale opened the door, and there she was–Rosaline’s petite figure standing right at the entrance.
Yale smiled. “Come in.”

Rosaline walked in, and he instructed the werewolf warrior outside, “From now on, Ms. Sinclair can come and go as she pleases.”
“How is Caden?” Her gaze shifted to me. I quickly shut my eyes, afraid she’d notice anything off.
I heard her footsteps approaching, her familiar scent enveloping me like a soft breeze.
I felt her fingers lightly touch my forehead but pulled back almost immediately. She was so gentle.
A warmth stirred deep in my chest like a feather brushing the softest part of my heart.
“He’s stable,” Yale said.
“But I thought I heard him talking earlier,” she replied, her voice tinged with doubt.
“No, that was me on the phone,” Yale quickly covered.
“Oh,” she murmured, sounding a bit disappointed.
“Ms. Sinclair, I’ll head out since you’re here with him. If you need anything, the werewolf warriors outside are at your service. They’re all trusted men.”
“Thank you,” she said softly.
Yale left, closing the door behind him.
I mentally praised him. That guy knows exactly when to back off.
Peeking through barely opened eyes, I saw Rosaline quietly standing by my bed, her face heavy with dub
My heart ached, but I couldn’t reveal the truth just yet.
After a while, she grew tired and rested her head on the edge of my bed, falling asleep.
The room was peaceful, filled only with her soft breathing.
I slowly opened my eyes.
Looking at her sleeping face, I gently got up, grabbed a thin blanket, and draped it over her.

My heart warmed. She looked so delicate, her pale lips betraying her exhaustion, yet her beauty still left me
breathless.
She must be exhausted from everything that’s happened.
Leaning down, I brushed a light kiss on her smooth forehead.
“Trust me. This will all be over soon.”
Rosaline’s POV:
The morning sun streamed through the window, warming my face.
I blinked awake, surprised to find a blanket over me.
I vaguely remembered falling asleep. Where did this blanket come from?
Could it be Caden? Did he wake up?
My heart raced with hope as I looked toward the bed.
But there he was, eyes shut, still ‘unconscious.‘
Disappointment sank in like a stone.
Memories of our time together flooded my mind–how he’d always protected, cared for, and risked his life shielding me from the falling debris.
“Caden, you have to be okay. Wake up. I’ll do anything if you just wake up,” I whispered, my eyes misting
over.
“Anything? Then will you marry me?”
A clear, familiar voice rang in my ears, sweet as music.
Caden!
It was him!
Overwhelmed with joy, I turned to see his eyes wide open, bright and full of life.
“Caden, you’re awake?”
I looked at him, my face lighting up with a joyful smile. The fear and anxiety that had gripped my heart finally melted away at this very moment.
He was awake.
He was finally awake!
Relief flooded through me like a warm tide.
The corners of Caden’s lips curved slightly, his sharp brows lifting just a little as he asked with a teasing glint
in his eves “Does what you said earlier still count?”

“What?” I blinked, momentarily stunned, trying to recall what I’d said.

When my gaze met him, the faint amusement dancing in his dark eyes made everything click. My face flushed with sudden realization, and I glared at him in mock annoyance, raising my fists to thump against his chest. “Caden, you were faking it!”
He caught my hands effortlessly without missing a beat, pressing them firmly against his chest. His voice dropped to a low, magnetic murmur, “Rosaline, can you feel it? My heart is beating for you.”
The warmth of his strong, solid chest radiated through my fingertips, the steady rhythm of his heartbear pulsing beneath my palms.
My face grew even hotter, a deep blush spreading to the tips of my ears.
This man!
Did he always have to be this shamelessly charming?
