Chapter 140 A Battle of Words
The shock was visible on everyone present.
The reporters wasted no time, their voices overlapping in a chaotic uproar.

“If this recording is real, that means the explosion at the Eclipse Group’s warehouse wasn’t an accident at all, it was deliberate. Someone planted a bomb, didn’t they?”
“And based on this recording, it is very likely that the person who planted the bomb was Mr. Jones.”
A tense silence fell over the room.
Jones clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white as he raised his voice. “This is nothing more than some random recording from who knows where! What exactly does it prove? Do you have any evidence that the voice on the call is actually mine? What evidence is there that this bomb is related to Warehouse No. 1?” His words came fast and sharp, each question laced with defiance.
I let out a cold chuckle, slipping my phone back into my pocket before sweeping my gaze across the room and explaining calmly, “This conversation took place on June 30th at precisely 3:20 PM. And just one minute later, at 3:21 PM, the Eclipse Group’s Warehouse No. 1 exploded.”
I turned my eyes back to him, my tone laced with amusement. “As for whether the voice in the recording belongs to you, that’s easy to confirm. A simple voiceprint analysis will make everything clear. I’ve already arranged for a voiceprint analyst to conduct the test. So, tell me, Jones, do you dare to take it?”
Jones’s expression shifted.
He had never anticipated that I’d come prepared with such damning evidence. In his opinion, Caden and I –had been on our way to Warehouse No. 1 that day, we shouldn’t have been able to overhear his call.
Jones’s fists tightened at his sides, his nails nearly digging into his palms. He inhaled deeply; his face darkening as he replied, “Why should I waste my time on such a ridiculous test?”
“Oh?” I arched a brow, my lips curving. “Are you afraid?”
Jones let out a dry laugh, though it lacked any real amusement. “This so–called recording of yours means absolutely nothing.”
“Doesn’t it explain anything? If the voice in the recording isn’t yours, why don’t you dare to prove it?” I continued with a bit of sarcasm, “Can I conclude that you are feeling guilty?”
The barrage of questions made Jones a little flustered. “Ms. Sinclair, this is pure slander! As the head of Eclipse Group’s Fostrau factory, why would I do such a thing? What could I possibly gain from tampering with raw materials? And as for planting a bomb, it was utter nonsense!”
“That’s a good question. Why would you do something like this as the head of Eclipse Group’s Fostrau factory?” I mimicked his tone as my voice dropped to a chilling whisper. “You did all of this because …
Before I could finish my sentence, a loud and enticing male voice rang out from a distance, overlapping with mine.
“You did all of this because of Marilyn Schmidt! It’s because of Heartstone Jewels!”
Everyone turned sharply toward the entrance of the conference hall.

Standing there, with an air of confidence that instantly eased my heart, was Caden Holbrook.
Caden has finally arrived!
Gasps of astonishment echoed throughout the hall as Caden stepped inside. His cold, sharp features were more striking than ever, his tall, imposing figure radiating an aloof, almost god–like presence that made everyone else seem insignificant by comparison.
“Mr. Holbrook, Mr. Holbrook is here!”
“Wasn’t he unconscious? How did he suddenly wake up?”
“Oh my god, it’s really Mr. Holbrook! He’s fine!”
The crowd erupted in excitement, all eyes locked on Caden Holbrook. It took a few seconds before someone finally reacted.
What exactly did he mean?
“Marilyn Schmidt? Heartstone Jewels? Isn’t that the jewelry company engaged in the previous plagiarism scandal?”
“What does Jones have to do with Heartstone Jewels?”
“Could this whole thing be tied to Heartstone Jewels?”
The whispers swirled around the room as people gazed at Caden with a mix of shock and curiosity.
What’s the real truth beneath all the twists and turns of the “Ice and Fire” incident?
As if commanded by an unseen force, the crowd instinctively parted, creating a clear path for Caden. Then, he walked toward me with steady and deliberate steps.
