It had been pure torture to leave Fiona in the bed like that, but after a sleepless night in which our limbs seemed to inexplicably constantly tangle together, it had been all I could do to grit my teeth and try to resist the ever–growing desire that seemed to be sweeping through me like a blazing inferno. I had almost ravished her, the thought a constant urge in my mind as I closed my eyes and tried to sleep without success. As a result, I had gotten up in the early hours of the morning, had breakfast, and then sneaked off for a run before heading to the old trusty training ring in order to train and work out all my frustration. It had worked, slightly but as soon as I saw my mate again, it all came rushing back. Was it always going to be this way between us or was I simply too horny for my own damn good?
I sensed my mate’s eyes on me as she came forward to stand beside me, awed by what she was seeing. Autumn, one of my best warriors, surprised me by offering to train Fiona, but it was Fiona’s answer that left me stunned. I had expected her to politely refuse. After all, I had said there was no rush for her to train, and like the other women, I expected that she simply would not enjoy it. Not like Autumn who seemed to live for training and genuinely enjoyed sparring against the others.
“I would love to train with you. You were amazing out there,” My mate gushed to Autumn who was practically beaming at the words.
Autumn never offered to train other warriors despite her amazing skills. Mostly because the men never wanted anything to do with her and a lot of the women didn’t like being bested by her. I eyed her warily, wondering what had prompted her to suggest she train my mate. Autumn noticed my expression and laughed, playfully shoving her elbow into me.
“Don’t worry Alpha. I’ll be gentle with your mate. I just want to see what she’s capable of.”
I had a feeling that my idea of gentle and Autumn’s version were very different. I might be a ruthless Alpha sometimes but even I knew when to stop. Autumn on the other hand…
Fiona bit her lip nervously. “I don’t know it’s just that…” she trailed off and looked at Autumn uncertainly, “I don’t have a wolf. I’m probably weak in comparison. You won’t exactly get much satisfaction out of training me,” she tried to explain but Autumn snorted at her, sounding amused by the very idea that Fiona would be useless.
“Says who? Just because you are wolf less it doesn’t mean you are weak. You still have shifter DNA and the strength that comes with it. Besides, what matters is the ability to defend yourself. A lot of the women here, aren’t exactly the friendliest you know. You always have to be looking over your shoulder with some of these bitches” she muttered as I tried not to chuckle. It was such a thing for Autumn to say.
I noticed that she gave Delia a scorning look and wisely kept my silence. It appeared the two women had something of a history. I spread my hands out helplessly and eyed the woman, curious to see what she might come up with. It appeared that I didn’t have a say in this. Fine.

Fine, then I’m in your hands. What should we do to start off with?” I asked Autumn dumbly, oblivious to the expre my mate’s face.

She grinned. Liam sighed. “Just remember you signed up for this,” he warned me as I stared at him, confused by the strange gleam in his eyes.
What did he mean by that? I frowned and looked at Autumn who was practically bouncing up and down on her toes with enthusiasm. I coughed.
“How’s your stamina and fitness level?” she asked me.
Stamina? Fitness level? I wasn’t over the top with my fitness but I wasn’t a slouch either. I was probably somewhere in the middle. Then again, it had been a long time since I had trained, especially since I had always been ridiculed back at my old

pack.
“Average maybe?” I hit my lip feeling as though maybe this wasn’t the greatest idea after all.
What if I made a complete fool of myself. I now felt sick at the thought. Autumn was going to regret offering to train me now, I just knew it.
Autumn’s eyes gleamed. “Then first up, we’re going for a run. You’re going to get fitter and more agile. You would be amazed at how useful being quick in a fight can be. Not to mention there’s always a possibility you might have to retreat.”
That made sense. She grabbed my arm and began to drag me away from Liam as my eyes glanced over my shoulder, my anxiety beginning to grow. I had no idea what was in store for me but from the glint in Liam’s eyes and the wide smile on his face, I had a sense that he did.
Autumn dragged me away from the training ring and to a large oval part of the grounds. It reminded me of school. I winced eyeing how large it was.
“Five laps,” she ordered coolly, hands going onto her hips. “I want five laps before we start doing some strength training and coordination.”
I gaped at her. She wasn’t kidding. She eyed me and I reluctantly began to run, not even halfway around the oval before my breathing became shallow and I struggled to draw air into my lungs. Autumn was unsympathetic, pointing at me and shouting encouragement.
“Come on Fiona. Do you want to be one of the top warriors? Then you train like a top warrior” she shouted at the top of her lungs, practically screaming the words at me.
She was a demon, I concluded, making the first lap and starting for the second one. I could feel sweat trickling down my back as I continued. Autumn continued to stand there, observing me closely. I felt as though I was some sort of trophy on display. I was almost sobbing by the third lap but she was relentless. I finally made it, dropping to the ground and collapsing as she came over and nudged me with her foot, demanding I stand back up.
“Time for strength training,” she said sweetly, her tone dripping over the top as I stared up at her, wondering where the hell my mate was and how he could allow me to be treated like this. No wonder he had warned me I knew what I was getting into. I struggled to my feet. I felt as though I had run a marathon. My clothes were plastered to me and my face was a bright beetroot red. I glared at her. She pretended not to notice.
“There’s a gym in the pack house. We’ll go there. We’re going to increase your strength so that whenever you throw a hit, it connects hard. It could mean the difference between life and death” she added, flipping her hair over her shoulder and staring at me hard.
With no choice but to follow her, I walked behind and we made it to the gym. We were the only females there. Autumn seemed accustomed to the stares and dark looks, leading me into the far corner where all the strength equipment was. She began to put weights on one of the machines, humming lightly under her breath. My jaw almost dropped open with the weight she was starting me on. I wasn’t a superhuman!
“Come on now, let’s do five reps three times” she encouraged. “I’ll do it too. Watch me first so that you get the technique down. You don’t want to injure yourself” she explained.
“No, wouldn’t want that,” I said numbly.
By the time we were finished, I was a sopping wet mess on the floor and unable to move my limbs without aching. She, however, looked as cool as a cucumber, seated beside me and patting me sympathetically on the arm.
“Don’t worry you grow used to the pain. It won’t take long.”
I almost sobbed in response. The sight of my mate coming towards me, a frown on his face almost had me wanting to fling my arms around him. If I wasn’t in so much pain, I would have.
“I thought you were going to take it easy on her?” Liam growled in displeasure.

Autumn was unfazed by his anger.
“I did. Trust me. I could have gone a lot harder.”
My eyes widened in fear, my hands clutching at my mate’s shoulders as he picked me up and strode off with me without another word.
