Chapter 741 Andy Is Still Alive
After recovering from her illness, Rachel remained in a prolonged state of depression. Losing a kidney had left her physically weak, and often drained of energy.
She had lost her family as a child, and now, there wasn’t a single person in the world who cared about her. Sometimes, Rachel wondered if death was the only way to put an end to everything.
But just as the blade brushed against her wrist, a nurse entered the room to change her bandages. The moment the nurse saw what she was doing, her face turned pale. “Ms. Morgan, what are you doing?”
With a startled cry, she rushed forward, trying to snatch the knife from Rachel’s hand.
Rachel hadn’t expected that after finally gathering the courage to end it all, a nurse would walk in at that exact moment. “Let go of me!” She struggled. “You and I are nothing to each other. Just pretend you didn’t see anything!”
The young nurse frowned. If something happened to Rachel, she would be in trouble too–she might even lose her job. And in times like these, a stable job wasn’t easy to come by. She quickly said, “Ms. Morgan, please calm down. I’ll call your family right away!”
Hearing that, Rachel let out a self–mocking laugh. “What
family?”

Her family had died over a decade ago. Now, she only had Chandler. But Chandler wasn’t her real family. Rachel knew she was just a burden, an inconvenience to everyone around her. She was unnecessary.
The nurse, unaware of her situation, tried to comfort her. “Ms. Morgan, you’re just having a moment of despair. But think about your family–they would be devastated if anything happened to you. You’re still so young.”
The doctor had warned them that Rachel had been deeply traumatized and was showing signs of depression. Her daily medication even included antidepressants.
Rachel slumped against the bed, and the knife slipped from her fingers. She thought, “Family? Will they really grieve for me? I have no family. Who will care?”
Seeing Rachel put the knife down, the nurse breathed a sigh of relief, thinking she had finally come to her senses. “Ms. Morgan, you’re beautiful, and you’re only in your early twenties. This is the best time of your life. Your health is improving. Once you recover, you can reunite with your family.”
Rachel’s eyes turned red. She thought, “Early twenties–the best years of my life. But I have already lost a kidney. And yet is there something important I have forgotten?”
Rachel sat up and knocked her fist against her forehead. She tried desperately to remember what it was, but the harder she

tried, the worse the pain became–like her skull was about to split open.
The nurse noticed her distress and asked worriedly, “Ms. Morgan, are you okay?”

Rachel bit her lip. That night, in the abandoned factory, they had taken one of her kidneys. When she woke up, she had lost many of her memories.
It was as if that part of her mind had been forcibly erased. Whenever she tried to recall it, scaring pain shot through her
head.
The doctor had called it trauma–induced amnesia, a defense mechanism where the brain blocked out unbearable memories.
Rachel clutched her head, shaking it violently. At that moment, a man suddenly appeared at the door. “Rachel, what’s wrong?” It was Christopher.
The nurse, assuming he was Rachel’s family, gave him a brief rundown before stepping out. After all, she was just an outsider -Rachel’s family would be better at comforting her.
When Christopher learned that Rachel had attempted suicide, his face turned ashen. His heart ached as he pulled her into his arms. “Rachel.”
Rachel’s body stiffened. She remembered. That night, when she had been barely alive in the operating room, someone had picked her up. A face–faintly familiar, yet distant–flashed in
her memory.

Rachel clenched her fists. She vaguely remembered that person had called her “Rachel“. In an instant, everything clicked. The man who had held her that night was Andy.
Rachel’s nails dug into her palms, her hands turning deathly white. Like a dam bursting, the memories came flooding back. Andy wasn’t dead. He was alive. All these years, he had been hiding in the shadows.
Rachel’s heart pounded violently. That night, when they tortured her, they had said it was revenge against Andy. In other words–she had suffered because of him.
The more Rachel thought about it, the colder she felt. Andy had disappeared for over a decade, his hands now soaked in blood. He was no different from the people who had stolen her kidney -ruthless and unforgivable.
Rachel couldn’t reconcile the image of her once–sunny, kind–hearted brother with the monstrous figure he had become. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have lost her kidney.
Christopher watched the turmoil on Rachel’s face, deeply worried. “Rachel, what’s wrong? Talk to me!”
Rachel snapped out of it. Looking at Christopher, nausea twisted her stomach. She thought, “Why is this man always hovering around me like a ghost?”
She shoved him away and slapped him across the face. “Get out!
Alive
Stay away from me! I don’t want to see you!”

For days, Chandler’s men had been keeping watch, preventing Christopher from getting close. But because Meryl had gone missing, Chandler had been too distracted to keep an eye on Rachel. So, Christopher seized the opportunity to come.
The slap landed hard, burning his cheek, but Christopher didn’t care. Looking at Rachel, he said, “I know you blame me. It’s all my fault. Hit me if you want. If I had been more careful, they wouldn’t have taken you from my villa.”
Christopher had been consumed with guilt these past few days. He knew Rachel had barely escaped death. She had been kidnapped right under his nose. That alone was unforgivable.
Christopher pulled her into his arms. “Rachel, I really love you. Hale me all you want, but don’t push me away. Please.” His eyes were red with grief as he looked at her, filled with nothing but heartache. He wished he could take her pain upon himself.
Rachel sneered, “Christopher, get out. I hate you. I don’t want to see you.”
Christopher shook his head. “Punish me however you want. But I won’t leave you.”
Rachel suddenly felt pathetic. In the end, the only person who had stayed by her side was Christopher.
Tear’s welled in his eyes as Christopher held her. “When you were taken, I did everything I could to save you. I even went to

Rachel’s eyes flickered. “My brother?”

Christopher nodded. “Rachel, you didn’t know, did you? Your brother–Andy–he’s still alive. And now, he’s one of the most feared drug lords in the Southwest.”
