After breakfast we walk out to meet the members of all the Packs, I know that my news will be unsettling for most and I intend to keep them out of harm’s way.
“This morning I received a call from one of our tech–guys. The Evil Moon Pack has re–grouped and is heading this way. We know where they will attack and we know why they are here. Because of that I will not ask you to fight this battle.
You need to get everyone to the shelters and put a perimeter of guards around it. I do not expect them to come this far on to your territory, but you need to be prepared just in case. After I finish speaking. I hear a lot of murmurs and one Warrior steps forward.
“Alpha Andrew, I am not being disrespectful to you, but I am not going to stand at the side–line. I will be joining Luna Dagmar in this fight.” Alpha Andrew looks at him, then he looks around the people in front
of us.
-I will not order you to fight this battle, those that want to help are free to do so. But I hope you also understand that Luna Dagmar is right, the women and children need to be protected.”
All the warriors walk to the side of the Pack–house and after a few minutes they return. The same Warrior walks up to me and says “Luna Dagmar, the mated Warriors will stay behind. The rest of us will be joining you and your team.” And I know that there is nothing I can say to change their minds.
“Thank you. We accept your help, but on one condition You are our back–line, you take down the ones that get through, the ones that fall down wounded.” I say looking at the Warriors and they nod their heads.
I send Mason a message, telling him to notify me when the enemy is half an hour away. After that we start talking strategy, we make sure every detail is worked out and ten minutes after we are done Mason lets me know it is time.
“In half an hour the enemy will be knocking on our door. Let’s get going, we need to be ready.” And everyone moves away from the Pack–house.
John says goodbye to Alice and kisses her forehead before he walks away. I know Marcus and Rico have tried to convince Lily and Samantha to stay at the shelter, but they both lots the argument,
It made me giggle, until 1 looked at Maddox and I knew he had thought about asking me to stay behind.
Maddox
Hearing Marcus and Rico talking to their mates, I know I want to do the same thing. “If you want to live, I suggest you say nothing to Mate.” Cole states in my head and I know he is right.
Dagmar will not like it if I mention this and I know there is nothing I can say or do to make her sit this one out. Cole and I both sigh and I curse under my breath.
We both want to protect her, but we are also aware of the fact that she is a tough and seasoned warrior. We will stay close to her and help out where it is needed.
Walking to the border. I grab her hand and it calms me down a little. “Thank you.” She whispers and I look at her in surprise.

“For not asking me to sit this one out.” I pull her into my side and kiss her on the top of her head. “I would never do that. I like breathing.” I say in response and we both laugh.
Dagmar tells us to get to our posts and to keep out of sight. It doesn’t take long before we see the first Wolves appear in the tree–line. Then I see a Lycan appear and I feel Cole pushing forward.
“Calm down, Buddy. We need them out in the open.” He starts pacing in my head, anger radiating from him and I can’t blame him. I still do not understand why she would do this to Dagmar.
“Because she knew about your feelings for Dagmar. It wouldn’t surprise me if she had a hand in the attack twelve years ago as well.” Matteo says through the mind–link.
I think about his words and all of a sudden puzzle–pieces fall in to place. But I have no time to think it through, because the Wolves emerge from the tree–line They tread lightly, looking around for danger. But they will not find danger until it is too late for them to react.

Alpha Maddox sees Grace standing amidst the Wolves and I know he still does not understand why she would do this. I tell him she was aware of his feelings for Dagmar.
I will tell him and Dagmar the entire story once this is over, maybe on our way home. I will tell them about the day I found her at Luna Gina’s grave, talking to herself about it being her that should become
Luna.
That she would not let a little girl take the place that belonged to her. After we found out she had left, I started to wonder if she could be behind this all. If she had convinced Alpha Max to drop bread–crumbs.
But why had she waited this long, I had been aware of this for close to eight years. I knew I would not be able to find the answers by myself, but with the help of my friends I knew we would be able to solve this puzzle.

From my spot I have a clear view of the tree line and then I see a familiar Lycan. Emma starts to push forward, a part of me wants to let her take over, but I also know we need the element of surprise.
“Please Emma. Stay calm, we will get her and maybe a few answers.” Emma stays close to the surface and I let her, knowing I need all the strength she can give me. I crouch down even further, making sure that I cannot be seen and one by one the Wolves emerge from the forest.
Through the mind–link I tell everyone to wait for my order, they all confirm my order and I relax just a little. Then Jill, Grace’s Lycan, walks out of the forest and I have to control myself from jumping out of my hiding place.
Jill and the Wolves are moving closer to the border and I am hoping they are unaware of the fact that we knew they were coming. Two Wolves hurry to the front once she stops walking and they place a few bags in front of her
Then she shifts to her human form and so do about half of the Wolves with her. One of the men opens the bags and tosses the contents on the ground, then someone starts to cuss.
It takes me a second to see why, but I have to stifle a laugh when I see that the clothes are all covered in bright orange paint. “I hope we find whoever did that, so I can give them a big thank you.” I hear Julian chuckle through the mind–link.

By the looks of it, the paint has been in there for some time, because it does not appear to be wet. Emma and I chuckle and for a second I want to say through the mind–link that that would be a stunt Izzy would pull
Thinking about Izzy makes both of us sad, she was my best friend and she has been gone for five years.
