Chapter 144 

Dagmar 

Hearing those words come from Alpha Andrew’s mouth is a surprise to say the least. And by the looks of it, Sienna had not seen that one coming. I can understand why she assumed she’d become the new Beta, because when an Alpha gets replaced that usually goes for the Gamma and Beta too. 

She looks at Andrew in shock, anger flashing in her eyes and she shouts at him “It is my birth right to become Beta.” Andrew just shakes his head and sits down behind his desk. 

“Sorry, Sienna. But it is the birth right for the first born He states flatly. Casps are heard through the office and Sienna’s Father jumps up, a look of shock on his face. 

Sienna asks her Father what Andrew is talking about, but he looks as if he does not have the answer to that question. Then she turns to Andrew and asks “Alpha, what are you talking about? My parents only have one child and that is me.” 

Andrew looks from Sienna to her father and back at Sienna again. Then a young man I have seen with Alpha Andrew over the past few days gets up and then I see a familiarity in his face, I had not noticed – before. 

“I am the first born Beta to your Family line, Sienna.” She turns to face him and then she looks at her Father. Her Father shakes his head “No, that is not possible. I never……” He lets the sentence trail off as if he all of a sudden he remembers something. 

His eyes start to widen, he turns to the young man looking at him for a second and then he runs from the room. Sienna asks Alpha Andrew if he can explain this to her, because it doesn’t make sense to her. 

We are all curious as to what this is, but I think we should at least give Sienna the choice. “Sienna, if you want us to leave, just say so? I can understand if this is something you would like to keep private.” She shakes her head, says she does appreciate the gesture but wants us to stay.

After that, Alpha Andrew explains that a first born in a line of Alpha’s, Beta’s or Gamma’s is the strongest or best within everything they get trained for. He had started questioning Sienna’s first born right when she had failed at a simple assignment during her first year of training. 

He had kept an eye on her progress, hoping he had been wrong. But after a few years he had realized she could not be the first born in the Beta line. There had been another reason for him to question her birth right. 

During his first year of training, he had met Neill, the next Gamma, and David, Both he and Neill had seen the familiarities between their Beta and David. Every time they had brought up his parents, he had told them he had never met his father and his mother refused to talk about him. 

Over the years the three of them had become close friends and one day he and Neill had decided to express their suspicions to David. 

David had needed some time to think over what they had revealed and after a few days he had asked them. to accompany him home, to talk to his mother. When Andrew had spoken about his suspicions to David’s mother, she had admitted that she had had a one–night stand with the Beta, before he liad taken a chosen 

mate.

Andrew and Neill had sworn to her to keep it a secret until the day that Andrew would take over as Alpha. When she had asked why, Andrew had told her it was David’s birth right to become Beta and Andrew knew he could count on David as his Beta. 

The boys had kept their promise to never reveal the secret even though David’s mother had died years 

ago. 

After Andrew is finished with the story, he looks at Sienna and apologizes to her. 

“Alpha, you have nothing to be sorry for. My Father is the one that will be sorry.” Then she turns to David “Alpha Andrew is right. You will make a better Beta, than I ever could.” Before she can walk away, David puts his hand on her shoulder and pulls her in for a hug. 

For a second, she stiffens and then relaxes into the hold he has on her. Taking a small step back, he looks her in the eye and says “I never held it against you. I hope one day I will be allowed to introduce you as my baby sister.” 

I can see tears gathering in her eyes, she nods and says with a small smile on her face “I always hoped for a sibling and now I have a big brother.” 

“Alpha Andrew, why don’t we get some lunch 

first, before we discuss the prisoner? I think we all need to process the information you just shared with us. Just as I am finished speaking, there is a knock on the door, and we hear from the other side “Lunch is ready 

We all get up and walk out of the office. David with his arm around Sienna’s shoulder and they are talking softly. Dagmar slides an arm around my waist and as we watch them walk into the dining room, she says “Sienna will be fine. She is stronger than she thinks.”

During lunch, I notice that Dagmar is keeping an eye on Sienna and through our link I ask her why.

After that we enjoy the rest of our food in silence, as the others chatter happily around us. It is good to see so many of my Pack–members happy and I know they will be even happier when they get home. 

“James, did you talk to Elsa lately?” I ask him, remembering I had not called her since we had gotten here. “Yes, I talked to her last night. I just needed to hear her voice. Your Sister is doing fine and so is your Nephew.” 

The fork I was lifting to my mouth drops from my hand and I look at him with my mouth still hanging open. Dagmar jumps up, runs around the table at high speed and puts her arms around her Uncle, hugging him tightly. 

Cheers are coming from our Pack–members and Alpha Andrew decides to rescue me from further embarrassment by pushing my mouth closed, which makes James chuckle and I mumble a thank you to Andrew. I get up to hug my brother in law and congratulate him on his first pup. 

After that I pull my phone out and dial my sister’s number. It rings twice before she picks up, but I can hear I am calling at an inconvenient time. “Hold on.” I hear her say and it takes a minute before I hear her voice again

“Hello, stranger. Finally remembered you had a sister.” She growls and I laugh. “Hey, sis, Sorry, but I have been so busy that it slipped my mind to call home. James just told me you were doing fine, but by sounds of it I think you told him a little white lie.” 

James pulls the phone from my hand “Baby, what is he talking about?” But by the look on his face I can tell
