Chapter 146
Maddox

I follow Alpha Andrew down the hall to the back door, David and Neill are walking behind me and James and Rico close the ranks. We are heading for the dungeons and Cole is pacing in my head.
We are both hoping to get answers from the guy and hopefully a lead on Grace and her where abouts. Questions still run through my mind, because nothing makes sense to me when it comes to her actions towards me or Dagmar.
Grace was the one that kept her occupied during the day, avoiding any mention of her Family or Pack. She would scold those that did bring those subjects up and he would always do whatever she could to take care of Dagmar,
Schoolwork, shopping or just girl–talk, whatever it was Dagmar needed, Grace took care of it. Even after Dagmar turned eighteen, she did not treat her any different.
Grace had acted like her Mom up to the day we left for the Black Moon Pack. We now knew it had all been an act, but we still did not know why.
We make our way towards the cell, when Matteo steps around the corner and the look he gives me does. not predict anything good. Through the link he tells me that the Warriors had asked questions without torturing the guy, but all he had done was laugh and say that this was not over yet.
Neill opens up the cell, grabs the guy and pulls him further to the back of the dungeons. It’s then that I see a large space, with a chair in the center and on the walls are tools, which can be used for torture.
The guy gets chained to the chair with silver cuffs and when he leans his back to the rear of the seat, he jolts back up. He hisses in pain and as I look closer at the chair I can see it is laced with wolfsbane. At least he will not heal to fast. Let’s have some fun.” Cole says and smirk at him in my head.
James
I take a step towards the man cuffed to the chair and ask him his name. He looks a little confused, so I tell him that it will make talking to each other a lot easier. tell him my name after he says his name is Greg.
“Well, Greg. First the easy questions and then we will get to the harder ones.” I ask him if his Pack had been attacked by the Evil Moon Pack and he confirms that they did.
I ask him if he was the only survivor, he tells me that there had been eleven of his pack that had survived. One of them being the Alpha’s daughter, but Max had killed her once he had found out she was not a female Alpha.
Then I ask him why he had chosen Max’s side, he looks at me, a sadness in his eyes, and he says “My mate was one of the survivors, he held her life over my head at every turn and I would have done anything to save her.”
I know anyone with a mate would do whatever they had to, to safe their mate from harm. We would go through hell and back to safe our mate. I dread to ask the next question, but I know I have to know the
answer.
“Where is your mate?” I ask and the room turns quiet. A tear slides down his cheek and I fear that I will hate the answer he is about to give us. “I don’t know. All I know it that she is still alive.

I let out a sigh of relief and ask him if he knows any of the hide–outs Max used. He nods and asks for a map, so he can point them out to us. Maddox has opened the mind–link and tells us that we will find his Mate and any other prisoners Max was holding
With a signal from his head he gets Alpha Andrew to follow him out of the dungeons and he tells me to keep questioning Greg.
Maddox
1 lead Alpha Andrew out of the dungeons, because I don’t want Greg to hear what I have to discuss. But as I had already figured out earlier Alpha Andrew is smarter than his father was.
“You want to keep him alive, maybe even pardon him, don’t you?” He asks. I nod my head and I am about to tell him why when David responds “He was forced to do what he did, most of them probably were.
Once we know the locations of the hide–outs, I will contact the nearest packs and ask them for help. I tell them I want to bring Greg back to my Pack, but that he needs to prove himself to me and my Pack, before he will be able to move around without a guard. Alpha Andrew agrees with me and asks me what I want to
do next.
The three of us discuss the options there are and we make the decision to send my Pack–members to the Packs that will help out freeing Alpha Max’s captives.
Alpha Andrew offers to talk to Leon and Owen, so they can search the hide–outs closest to their Packs. I link James and Rico with the plan and tell them to meet me at the Guest–house as soon as they are done with questioning Greg.
Rico asks if I want Greg present at the meeting and I tell him to put Greg back in his cell, the less he knows, the better it is for now. It does not take me long to find Dagmar and I am surprised to see Sienna sitting with her and Maggie.
They are talking and laughing, so I keep my distance because I don’t want to disturb them. Not that it helps, because after a few seconds Dagmar looks over her shoulder and smiles at me.
She says something to the girls while she keeps her eyes on me and it sends the girls into a fit of laughter.
Dagmar
I feel his presence the second he comes around the corner of the Pack–house. Smiling I look over my shoulder and say “Looks like my Guard is back.” Maggie and Sienna start laughing.
Even though they both know that I am basically telling the truth. After Josh and Eric had left us by ourselves, I had explained to Sienna and Maggie that a Mate would be very overprotective, especially if the Mate was a male.
I had told them to watch mated couples to see how they interact and how they react to others. Maggie had asked if it was normal for mated couples to spend their time apart and I had looked at her rather confused.
She and Sienna had told me that the only time the High–ranking Pack–members were with their Mates- was during the night or in the dining room. My jaw had drop at that information and they knew the answer without me answering it.
So I told them that it was as if a part of me was missing Maddox was not near me. That he made me feel warm, comfortable and safe, that they would notice the mated couples would always be touching and that

Maggie had just told us she could not wait to find her mate, when I had sensed Maddox behind us. I truly hope that Maggie will find her Mate, back home. She deserves to find happiness and a family of her own.
Maddox walks up behind me, lifts me up and sits down next to Sienna with me on his lap. Maggie looks at Sienna and they both smile at each other with a knowing look in their eyes.
“Maddox, I have asked Sienna to come home with us to visit. So she can leave this place behind for a little while.” He knows I am not asking for permission, just telling him that she will be coming with us.
