I felt relief when Elsa told us that none of the recovered DNA–samples belonged to my little girl.

I try to link Jordan, but he has blocked me and I understand he doesn’t want anyone bothering him. But he needs to know this, so I link Maggie and ask her to inform Jordan about the news. A moment later he links me back and I can hear the relief he is feeling through the mind–link.
I had kept my eyes on Stephan when Elsa had taken the bracelet from me and something had been of with him.
Glenn asks me what is on my mind and I tell him that something about Stephan’s reaction did not make sense to me. Glenn knows that they had been best friends, since they had been toddlers and he knows me well enough to know it was not my imagination.
We discuss it for a little while longer and then I feel a hand on my shoulder. The meeting room is empty and Dagmar is standing next to me. “What is wrong, Julian? Something is troubling you.” She says and I smile at her, she knows me so well.
I explain what I had been discussing with Glenn. Maddox nods his head, because he agrees with me and he
eks if he needs to talk to Stephan. I think about it for a second and then I nod my head, I know I need
answers.
Maddox
I agree with Julian something was off with his reaction and I had noticed he checked his phone immediately after he saw the bracelet. Dagmar and I walk out of the meeting room and I mind–link Stephan, telling him to be in my office in an hour.
“Do you think Julian should be present at this meeting. I ask Dagmar. She is quiet for a few seconds and then she says “It is best if we talk to him alone. Julian might not like what he has to say or maybe he knows, nothing. Not everyone will react the same.”
I smile at the smart and very diplomatic answer of my Mate. I just nod my head and lead her to my office. Entering my office, I grab her hand and pull her with me to my desk.
I sit down on my chair and put her on my lap, pulling her close. I just need to hold her for a while and I need her to relax me. We just sit in silence, enjoying each other’s company.
Dagmar
It is strange to be in his office, sitting on his lap and not standing on the other side of the desk to receive orders. A knock on the door, jolts me out of my thoughts.
“Come in I hear Maddox say near my ear. I try to get up, but he holds me tight and I know that he will not let me go. The door opens and Stephan walks in. By the look on his face, he knows why he was called in to the Alpha’s office.
Maddox signals him to sit down and he takes the chair to my left. “Stephan, do you have any idea why 1 asked you to come to my office?” Maddox asks him. Stephan stares at his hands and I can see that he is nervous.

Maddox looks at him and then at me, we both are wondering what his answer will be. So, I tell him to answer the question and that we will decide afterwards if it is disrespectful or not.
Maddox
Dagmar gives him a very diplomatic answer to a rather unusual response. Cole is pacing in my head, not pleased with Stephan’s answer. But he realizes that Dagmar is correct, we can decide later whether or not his answer is disrespectful.
I can tell by his posture that he would preferer to be standing or walking around, so I tell him that he can stand if it makes him feel more comfortable. He gets up and walks towards the window.
While he looks out of the window, I hear a knock on the door and Dagmar gets up to answer it. She opens the door further to let Lily in who is holding a tray with some drinks and snacks.
She puts them down on the table, she looks at Stephan for a second and then she leaves my office. Dagmar sits down on one of the couches and asks Stephan if he would like something to eat or drink.
He shakes his head and keeps his gaze on whatever it is he sees out there. Dagmar signals me to join her on the couch and holds out a small plate with some snacks on it.

I see Luna Dagmar’s eyes widen as I say these words. Apparently she didn’t know that Alpha Maddox knew anything as to Izzy’s leaving.
“The last time she checked in with me, was on the day Grace attacked you at the Black Moon Pack. She called me shortly after I had spoken to you, Luna.”

Hearing Stephan talk, makes me want to jump up and run out to tell Julian. But I know Stephan is right, it is not up to us and if Izzy keeps her schedule, it will be nother two weeks before she will reach out to him. 2/13

You are right, we cannot make decisions for Izzy and we can’t tell her story. Inform us the second you hear from her, we will find a way to tell Julian without betraying her trust.”
Stephan nods his head and I can see some relief on his face. Maddox leans forward, drawing Stephan’s attention to him. “Thank you for being her friend. I appreciate you telling me what you could.
Is there any way we can fake intel on her status. Knowing you talked to her the day Grace attacked, means. she was never in Alpha Max’s hands. I believe it is important that Julian knows this.”
Stephan is quiet, but I can see that his mind is working overtime. Then a small smile appears on his face. he nods his head and explains to us how he can manage that. Maddox dismisses him and I fall back on the couch, letting out a huge sigh.
Maddox
We are sitting in the dining room to have lunch, when Stephan rushes in and he makes a bee–line for me with a tablet in his hand. “Alpha Maddox, you need to see this,” He says out of breath and holds out his hand, so Fcan see what he is talking about.
My eyes glide over the screen, Dagmar is leaning in close to look over my shoulder and her eyes widen as she sees what is on the screen. That gets everyone’s attention and I get up, still holding the tablet in my hand.
I walk over to Julian and lower my hand, so he can also see what is on the screen. Tears well in his eyes as he is staring at a picture of his Daughter. “Izzy.” He whispers, before he grabs the tablet and shows Glenn the picture.
“Nicely done, Stephan. He will have questions though. say through the mind–link. Julian turns to Stephan, looking at him with a confused face. Stephan asks him if he remembers that the search system they put in place after Izzy disappeared. Julian nods his head and Stephan explains it to the others
“It is going over every photo and video, comparing her face to the footage. I check that system every few days. But so far it was always a false alarm, if I got a notification.
Because of the situation of the last few weeks, I had not checked it. This picture is from the day that Grace attacked the Black Moon Pack.”
Even though Dagmar and I know the entire truth, we act as surprised and happy as the rest. Julian and Glenn keep looking at the screen and I can see that Stephan is getting anxious, so I decide to help him out.
“Julian, return the tablet to Stephan. He will send you the picture, so you can stare at itat all day.” I say mockingly. Julian just shrugs his shoulders, but he hand the device back to Stephan.
He tabs a few times on the screen “Done. I send it to your phone, Julian,” And then he hurries out of the dining room. Dagmar and I sit down again and looking at Julian, I just hope Izzy returns soon.
I have a feeling that if it takes too long he will go looking for her and that might back–fire, if he is able to find her. “I love you.” I say to Dagmar, she looks up at me and after she pecks my lips, she says “I love you
too.
