Every day I go to the Tech–building to ask Stephan if there is any news. In the beginning I would get one word answers, for some reason he did not like me.
After a few weeks I started sitting down near his desk and ask him questions about his work. Now a days we talk about all sorts of topics, but when it comes to Izzy still get one word answers.
Sometimes Stephan gets a hit on his system, but most of the time it is someone that just looks like her.
Julian is slowly getting back to his old–self, but everyone can tell that he misses her and whenever there are reports on found Jane Doe’s it is even worse.
Luckily, so far it was never Izzy, but it is getting on his nerves every time. And even Nero has a hard time dealing with those reports.
I find him at the pond again and as every other time, I sit down on the tree–trunk and stare in the distance. “I kept a secret from her and that is why she took off.”
I am startled when I hear those words, but I keep quiet. After a few minutes he tells me the whole story and I can tell it has weighted heavy on him.
“Maybe
she found some answers.” I tell him, but he shakes his head at my comment.
“I never knew her Mother’s name and I didn’t know which Pack she was from. I wouldn’t be able to recognize her scent, if I ever met her again.”
I understand what he means, because that means that there was not much to go on. But I am glad that he confided in me and now I understand why she left.
Izzy’s POV
It’s been a year and I know I still have a long way to go. For now I have settled down in a town and work at a bistro.
Over the past year I have met a lot of unmated males, who have showed interest in me. And every time I thought about staying for the Full Moon, seeing Jordan’s face made me decide against it.
I smell her hideous perfume, before I see her. So I am prepared for what might come, trouble with a capital T
Even though I still have money left, about a month ago ran in to Mandy. She was being harassed by a few females and from their comments I could tell this was not the first time and it would not be the last time.
I stepped in and within seconds it was clear to everyone that they were better off walking away.
Mandy thanked me for my help and offered to buy me lunch. During lunch we talked about the women and that is when I found out she owned a small bistro at the edge of town.

After that the harassment started, first a few remarks on–line and soon that escaladed in to harassing her personally. And now the main source of the trouble was on her way.
We had filed complaints with the police, but they did nothing and I was determined to find out why.
So I had sent Mandy out on an errand, knowing trouble would hit again today. The bistro was empty. I had made sure of that. The woman starts smiling as she sees the bistro empty, but the smile freezes on her face when I step in front of her.
As I grab her by the collar, a scent hits me and Evie pushes forward to make herself known. She starts shaking and tries to get away from me, but it doesn’t do her any good, not with Evie in control.
Evie tells me that the excessive use of perfume finally makes sense and I have to agree with her. It had puzzled us from the start, but we finally had our answer.
Knowing the Alpha of the closest Pack, I get out my phone and dial his number.
After explaining myself, he tells me he will be there as soon as he can with some of his men.
The She–wolf has heard every word and starts to freak out, mumbling something about not getting paid enough.
Half an hour later the Alpha shows up and soon we have all the answers we need.
The big shot is a rogue and the police is terrified of him. We decide to deal with the guy and his little gang of rogues.
The Alpha calls in one of his men, who had been keeping an eye on things outside and then we get a real shock. It turns out the She–wolf was his mate and had rejected him a few months ago.
We wait until Mandy returns from her errand and I tell her that her troubles are over. After hearing us out, she nods her head and thanks both me and the Alpha for dealing with her problem.
He chuckles and says: “Rogues are our problem, not yours. I am just sorry you were caught in the middle of this.”
Mandy looks at me and knows that I will not be coming back. She hugs me and tells me she will grab my back–pack for me.
As I walk out the door she wishes me luck and tells me to drop by whenever I am in the neighborhood.
The Alpha tells me his plan on dealing with the rogue leader, but he also tells me we need to notify the police.
I agree with him, because I don’t want Mandy to get into trouble because of this.
Luckily the police station is not far from the bistro and as we walk in I see the officer we spoke to last time. The look on his face tells me that he is not happy to see me, but then he recognizes the Alpha and his attitude chances completely.
The Alpha demands to talk to the Chief of police and the officer escorts us to his office. He doesn’t ask for permission, just explains what we are going to do and if any of this comes back to Mandy there will be hell to pay. After that we walk out of the police station.
