Chapter 182
Izzy’s POV
The Werewolves are getting closer and I am able to hear their conversation.
“What the hell does the Boss think we will find out here” One of them asks. A second one answers: “He believes to figure out what his plan is And he wants to make sure that no one will be able to find anything. So torch everything you can find

They take off in three different directions and that is my que to get moving. Quietly I drop out of the tree and make a run for the tree–line. Evie lends me her speed, to make sure that I can make it there, undetected.
I keep running until I feel comfortable enough to slow down. It is near midday when I see a town in the distance and I decide it is a good place to get something to eat.
Maybe I’ll be able to open the lock–box and see what is in side of it. I promise myself that tonight after dinner I will call Stephan and fill him in on what happened and what I found.
⚫ I find a small bistro at the edge of town, order my lunch and take in my surroundings.
A man sitting in the far corner of the bistro, is staring at me and I get the urge to go over to him to knock
some sense in to him.
Then the waitress shows up with my order, she puts it down in front of me. She hands me a few napkins and gives me a strange look. Before I can say something she walks off towards the man and for some reason I open the napkins.
“He is a Werewolf Is written on the napkin and I have to stifle a laugh.
It’s a good thing that she doesn’t know that I am a Lycar, she might run, screaming, from the place.
After I finish my lunch, I make my way to the counter to pay and ask the waitress if she knows where I might find someone who can help me open the lock–box.
As I hand her the money, the man steps up next to me and I hear him growl softly. “Is there a problem, Mister?” I ask rather irritated. Looking me straight in the eye, he wants to say something, but I let Evie come forward and he steps back quickly.
“Don’t underestimate someone you don’t know. It might bite you in the ass.” Evie says and from the corner of my eyes I can see the waitress turn pale.
I turn back to the waitress, fully in control again. She hands me my change and I smile at her.
As I walk out of the door, I hear the man tell the waitress he is not going to pay, that it is his payment for protection Another voice comes from the back and tells him he has to pay his bill.
Evie and I can feel the anger coming from him and in second I am standing in front of him. I hold him a few inches of the ground and squeeze his throat tightly
“Pay up and don’t ever come back here or I will finish you.” I say before I drop him. He scrambles to his feet and grabs his wallet. The waitress tells him his total and he pulls out a few bills.

It takes me twenty minutes to find the small shop and when I tell the guy what I need help with, he is more than willing to help me. He has it unlocked in seconds and when I just put it under my arm without opening it, he looks at me in surprise.
“Sorry, but what is in there is private. Thanks for your help.” As I get some money from my back–pack, he shakes his head and tells me that there is no charge because I helped out his Father and Sister.
I smile, nod my head and walk out the door. Today I have to break with my routine, because I want to know what is in the box.
A cave would be the best place, but I will take a huge tree if I can find one.
I have been walking for almost two hours when I finally find a place to settle for a few hours. The cave has a narrow entrance and it reminds me of the caves I stayed in all those years ago.
I check if I have reception on my phone, before I open the lock–box. I don’t know what I was expecting to find, but it is a mixture of photos and official papers.
On top is a folded note, by the looks of it written in great destress and I wonder if it was penned down during the attack.
On the outside it reads: “To whomever finds this. I am curious and want to start reading the note, but Evie stops me from doing so. She tells me it is best to call Stephan, so we can go through it together.
It only rings once before Stephan answers and I ask him if he was staring at his phone in the hope it would
ring.
Both of us start laughing, because we know that he was Did you find anything at all?” He asks and I tell him everything that happened that day.
I ask him how my Father is doing and he tells me he is doing fine, that he spends a lot of time with Jordan. That they sometimes come to see him together..
Evie’s head snaps up at the mention of Jordan’s name and I roll my eyes at her.
