Chapter 202
Jordan’s POV.
After talking to Julian and Glenn for a while, I decide to go back to my cottage. The only place where I want to be right now.
Once another cottage stood there, but it had burned to he ground a few decades ago. This property had belonged to my Grandparents on my Mother’s side. And after Mother had died, it was handed down to me and my Brother.
Jayce had no interest in it, so he had signed his half over to me. Living with my Father and later living at the Pack–house as a Beta, I never had any use for it.
After the cottage had burned down, I cleared the property up and never looked back.
But three years ago I made the decision to build a new cottage, with in the back of my mind a Mate and pups. But unlike my Grandparents one story cottage, the one I build was a two story cottage.
It was larger in every way, because I want a big family and the space to accommodate them. A large living area and a large kitchen across the hall from it. I had placed an armchair in such a way that I could keep an eye on whoever was in the kitchen.
And from that position I could also look in to the garden, to keep an eye on playing pups. Nero helped me with that idea, he made it clear that he would want to know where our pups would be at all times.
Even though I told him that with our hearing that wasn’t a problem, I indulged him when he kept bringing
it up.
I close the door behind me and sit down in the chair, staring out the window.
Izzy’s POV.
I know that Jordan left the party, but I forgot to ask my Father where I could find him. But Evie tells me to head towards the Pack–house, so we can pick up his scent.
It doesn’t take us long to get to the Pack–house and suddenly Evie pushes forward, she has picked up his scent. We follow it along a path, we know leads to an empty property.
We wonder why his scent is leading us this way, why would he go to an empty lot. It has us both puzzled and for a second we contemplate on returning to the Pack–house. “Just a little further.” I say to Evie.
As we come out of the bend in the path, my jaw drops. I am staring at a two–story cottage. I reminds Troy’s cottage, even though this one has no straw roofing.

It is not small by any means and I can picture a large family living here. A few steps are leading to a double front door, the wooden outside is panted in an off–white color. The shutters are a bright dark–blue, framing the windows at the front of the cottage.
Along the path that leads to the front door are flower–beds with all sorts of wild flowers in a variety of colors. And I take a few minutes to just gawk at my surroundings.

The smell gets stronger and I hear her coming up the steps. Before she can knock on the door, I rip it open and pull her in to my arms.
She stiffens at my action, but Nero has no intention of letting her go. “Don’t worry, Princess. We just need to hold you.” I whisper in her car. Nero rejoices as she relaxes a little.
I lean back a little and ask the question I dread the answer to “Did you get here by mistake?” She gives me a little smile before she shakes her head.
“I went looking for you, because we need to talk.” The serious tone of her voice, has my heart sinking in to my boots.
I let her go and reluctantly 1 step back to let her in. I show her to the living–room and I feel a bit of a triumph as she looks around the room with a smile on her face. I tell her to take a seat and ask if she would. like something to drink.
She nods her head as she walks in to the room and I get us both a bottle of water from the kitchen. I hand her the bottle and sit down in my arm–chair.
“How is the view from there?” She asks me and I can tell she in genuine in her question. I tell her it is amazing. I tell her I put the chair in that spot because of Nero.
As I see confusion on her face, I tell her the story of the property and the cottage. When I tell her that Nero wanted a chair in that spot to keep an eye on our pups, she turns away from me. But I have already seen the pained expression on her face.
Nero scolds me in my head and I can only agree with him.
“I never wanted a Mate ever since my Father and Brother committed suicide because of their Mates.” I say in a whisper. “When you asked me to be your chosen Mate, it brought back the pain of losing them. And because of that I reacted more blunt towards you than you deserved.”
I look up and see that she is still staring out of the window and I realize that this is my chance to explain everything to her. So I tell her the story of my childhood, not leaving one detail out of it.
“Seeing you every day, made us rethink our decision to live without a Mate. And after you left. I realized that I had been an idiot. It took a long time before your Father told me why you left. And it took me even longer to confide in him that you had asked me to be your chosen Mate.”
She turns to me after I say those words and for just a split second I fear she is going to storm out. But I am shocked by what comes out of her mouth “And you are still breathing?”
Izzy’s POV.
Listening to Jordan as he tells me about his Mother, his Father and his Brother, Jayce, my heart breaks for
him.
My jaw drops when he tells me that he told my Father about my request and as I turn around, I already know that I am getting myself in a lot of trouble. Seeing the look on his face at my words, sends me in to a fit of laughter and I have to hold my stomach because the expression on his face isn’t getting better.
After a few minutes I have finally stopped laughing and have slowed down my breathing. As soon as I am able to talk again, I sit down on the table in front of hir

“Jordan, my travels have made me realize that I want my True Mate, not a chosen one. I am not going to run from you, but I am still in search of a few answers about my Mother. I need you to understand that getting closure on that part of my life is important to me.” I can see relief in his eyes as my words register in his head.

“Princess, take all the time you need. Just promise me that I get to hold you every night. I think Nero might lose it all together if we are apart ever again.
She smiles at me and tells me that Evie will probably kill her if she would stay away deliberately. I pull her in to my lap and hold her close to my chest. She puts her face in my neck and inhales deeply, relaxing in
my arms even more.
