Chapter 337 My Year 

Amir’s p.o.v. 

My team is already waiting for me, when I get back to the Academy and I hand them all the information I have received. 

“Check it all and I really mean everything. I want to know everything there is to know about everyone involved and I want it yesterday.” I say, before I walk to my room to take a shower. 

I still don’t fully understand why someone would want to take something that doesn’t belong to them, it always leads to more than one person getting hurt and sometimes it would lead to someone’s death. 

There are those who want power that doesn’t belong to them, there are those who want a position that doesn’t belong to them and most of the time it is a combination of both. 

My own past is a good example of that, I am the second Son of an Alpha and I had been traveling to other Packs to find my fated Mate. My Brother and I hadn’t much luck in that department, Full Moon after Full Moon neither of us found our fated Mate. 

My Brother had been searching for seven years and I had been searching for five years. Both of us were on the verge of giving up hope, when we received an invitation from Scarlet Moon Pack and our Mom told us that she felt hopeful about that Full Moon. 

Rogues attacked our Pack the day before the Full Moon and my Brother ended up in an induced coma to help his Wolf to heal them. 

Mom sent me to Scarlet Moon Pack by myself and it was the best thing she could have done, because I found my fated Mate that night. She had just turned eighteen and she seemed nervous when I walked towards her. 

Linda was a shy girl and asked me to go to her birth Pack with her to meet her figured we could use the extra time to get to know one another.

Her parents were happy for their Daughter, but they also hated that she would be moving so far away. Something I could understand perfectly, because it was something Mom feared too and I decided that I wouldn’t tell them that there was a possibility that we would move to Linda’s birth Pack. 

Linda and I got to know one another during the four days it took to travel from one Pack to the next, I had informed my parents about Linda and they had been extremely happy for me. 

My Brother had healed up nicely by the time we arrived home and he was waiting for us with our parents. 

Linda was hugged by Mom and Dad after I introduced them to one another, but her facial expression had changed completely when I had introduced her to my Brother, Paulo.

“You are not the future Alpha?” Linda had asked with an angry voice and I had asked her why she thought that I was the future Alpha, because we never discussed my position within our Pack. 

It became clear that she had been talking to some other females that had pointed out the Sons of Alphas and she had automatically assumed that I was the heir to the Alpha position. 

Like every other night, we slept in separate rooms and after explaining it to Mom she finally agreed that Linda would be sleeping in the room across the hall. Mom still blames herself for not putting her foot down, but she wasn’t to blame for what happened that night. 

I woke up in the middle of the night from excruciating pain and Mom and Dad were in my room in seconds. Neither of them needed an explanation and Dad ripped open the door to the room Linda was staying in, finding her in bed with Paulo. 

You can imagine that shit hit the fan at that moment, but it didn’t turn out the way anyone could have guessed. 

Paulo and Linda were forced to wait a few days to determine if she had gotten pregnant, she did try to get back into my good graces but I refused to go anywhere near her. 

When it turned out that she was pregnant Paulo was forced to take her as a chosen Mate. Both of them seemed happy with the outcome, but Paulo had forgotten that Dad was a righteous Alpha. 

Paulo was stripped of his right to take over the Pack from Dad and instead of turning to me, he had turned to our Cousin. Offering the Alpha position to Herman, which caused a lot of cussing and swearing from Paulo. 

I never wanted to be an Alpha and Dad had known this for most of my life. I wanted to make a difference for every Shifter in our Kingdom, I wanted to join the King’s Army and Mom and Dad had always supported that. 

Herman was the same age as Paulo and he had found his Mate four years before that day. Both Paulo and Herman had been trained by Dad, because I wasn’t going to take that position if something happened to Paulo and Herman was well aware of that fact. 

We both discussed this with Edith when she moved to our Pack, she had been surprised to find out that she needed to train to become a Luna. 

Like Mom Edith was a natural born Luna and our Pack would be in good hands with both of them. None of us hoped that it was necessary, but it is better to be safe than it is to be sorry. 

A year later Herman and Edith took over from my parents and a week later I was on my way to join the King’s Army. 

I have never set foot in our territory again, I only talk to Herman and Edith on the phone and I am glad that Mom and Dad decided to move closer to the Academy years ago.

I have only seen Paulo at the funerals of our parents, Linda didn’t accompany him and neither did their Pup. No one seems to know how the relationship between Paulo and Linda is, but to tell you the truth I don’t care. 

Every Full Moon I hope for a second chance Mate, someone who will love me for who I am and not for some title I might have. Maybe this will be my year, maybe I can finally get my happily ever after.
