Brian charged forward, his expression twisted with fury. “You said you loved me. If that was true, how could you suddenly get engaged to Lawrence?”
I met his gaze calmly, but my words cut deep. “You’re right. I did love you. But when love is taken for granted, it fades. Isn’t it natural to move on? I don’t love you anymore because you never truly loved
- me. And now, I’ve found someone else. I reject you as my mate. Let’s end this cleanly.”
“I never agreed to break up!” Brian’s voice trembled with rage.
Lawrence stepped in front of me. “She’s not asking for your approval. She’s telling you it’s over. Unless you want me to air all your dirty laundry right here?”
He turned to me with a gentle smile. “Margaret, our guests are waiting.”
Brian reached for me from behind. “Margaret, I won’t let you be with another man!”

jaw echoed in the room. “This is your last warning, Moore. Out of respect for your rank, I’ve been patient. But if you disrespect Margaret again, I won’t hold back.”
Brian’s father rushed to apologize. “My apologies, Alpha Windsor. I’ll take this idiot home.”
He grabbed Brian’s arm, his voice low and scolding. “Enough! Haven’t you caused enough trouble? Do you need to destroy everything?”
Nora hurried to support Brian. “Uncle, it’s not his fault! Margaret’s being too much!”
I turned slowly, my voice calm but sharp. “Too much? Nora, even if I were terrible, it would never compare to your disgusting actions. You–an unmarried Omega–sneaked into his house, slept in what should have been my bed, and wore my lingerie.”
“Is this what your music academy taught you? Is this what a renowned musician does? Do your fans know you slept with an engaged man?”
Her face turned pale as she staggered back. The whispers around us grew louder.

“I’m done with her innocent act.”
“She’s been chasing Brian for years, pretending to be Margaret’s friend.”
“Sleeps with an engaged man on the fiancée’s bed? What kind of world–class musician? More like a gold–digging mistress.”
Brian stepped in front of Nora, shielding her. “Don’t drag her into this. It’s all my fault.”
I slapped him hard across the face. “Of course, it’s your fault. If not for your pathetic actions, none of this would’ve happened. Only a house with cracks would let a snake slither in.”
Nora burst into tears. “I’ll leave now. I won’t bother you anymore.”
“Stop pretending,” I snapped. “Who cares where you go, besides that brainless idiot, Brian?”
“Your family’s status is crumbling. That ‘world–class violinist‘ title won’t help you climb anymore. Before your affair spreads, find a rich man. After this scandal, let’s see if anyone will still want to marry you. Good luck.”
Nora ran, her face covered in tears. Brian tried to follow, but Lawrence’s security blocked him, throwing him out.
After the engagement, Lawrence started renovating our future home. Every detail reflected my taste perfectly.
While shopping with my best friend Rowan to relax, she smiled. “Did you hear about Nora? She cried all the way home, and her stepmother won’t let her back in the front door because of the scandal.”
“She went to Brian’s house to beg for shelter,” Rowan continued. “But Brian’s mother lost the chance to ally with the Weller family because of this little mistress. She was furious. She had the maid close the door on Nora right in front of her.”
“Now she’s hiding at Brian’s new place, crying about how innocent she is. But who’s buying her act
more?”
Meanwhile, Brian was playing the repentant lover. He showed up at my door every day, carrying flowers and gifts, becoming a nuisance. He even custom–ordered a wedding dress and sent
to my house with a handwritten note: “You’re always my perfect mate.”
“Give me one more chance. I’ll never see Nora again. Please, baby, let’s start over.”

When Lawrence saw the message, he was furious. He paced the living room, his anger palpable. “I need to teach that useless fool a lesson. Does he think he can steal my Luna? He’s out of his mind!”
I grabbed his arm, smiling. “Why bother with him? He’s not worth your time.”
Brian’s constant harassment was exhausting. Lawrence insisted I move into our newly renovated. house. “You’ll be living here eventually,” he said. “Let’s try it out. If anything’s wrong, we’ll fix it.”
To celebrate the move, Lawrence invited friends over for a housewarming party.
None of us expected Nora to show up.
