After 1 Torched Alive My Alpha Wewe
Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Lily skipped out of the master bedroom, her voice bright and carefree. “you’re awake! Why didn’t you sleep a little longer?”
On the other end of the line, my mother froze. “Sandy, who’s that beside you? Aren’t you with Grace?”
Sandy, growing irritated by Lily’s antics, pushed her roughly to the floor. He grabbed the phone, his tone hurried as he attempted to explain.
“Honored Luna, Grace is fine. I’ll have her call you and let you know she’s okay.”
He didn’t dare say more, hanging up abruptly.
Sandy didn’t pay any attention to Lily, who was now crying on the floor. He grabbed his car keys and stormed out.
His mind raced as he searched through the chat history for the address I had sent him. He floored the gas pedal, determined to find me, his thoughts muddled with guilt and desperation. He called me several times, but the only response was the endless ringing and the empty voicemail prompts.
That’s when his wolf began to growl anxiously as well.
Sandy sensed the bond in his body begin to ache, an ache that was enough to rip his heart out.
The first day of the cold war, I had found a place nearby to stay, and I had sent him the address. My thoughts were a whirlwind then–half reluctant to let go of five years of love, half unwilling to accept a flawed relationship.
Sandy, too, struggled with it. He didn’t want to break up, but he didn’t bow down or repent. Just occasionally release a cheap concern, ask me if I’m still angry.
I had grown numb. As the days passed, I had decided that it was time to end things, to be honest with him about how I felt. We give up the partnership that was blessed by the moon god and we can remain friends or coworkers.
But the fire happened. All I wanted was to survive.
Our relationship had started with me saving him, when he was a rogue wolf with no pack acceptance, banished by gamma warriors for accidentally entering the pack where I lived. I was the

one who saved him and gave him legitimacy and a chance to become a Comma Warrior with
Rescue.
However, when he became a hairy warrior, he failed to save me.
In the end, Sandy owed me two lives.
During this period, there were countless points that could have changed the ending
If Sandy had distributed the wolf pack’s rescue equipment according to the rates, if sandy haday taken my pleas for help as possessive, if Sandy had been able to set off at the first opportunity after receiving the news from the wolf pack’s rescue center
One decision led to the next, all intertwining and creating the trap I could not escape
He is the one who brought about my death.
Then let him live with the condemnation of the wolves and his guilt for the rest of his life!
He deserves it.
Sandy had called my number countless times, his heart racing each time he heard it ring, hoping would answer. When someone finally picked up, he eagerly called my name, relief flooding his chest–only to hear the devastating words on the other end.
“Are you mate of the deceased…..Um, the decease’s name is…Grace?” the voice on the phone asked
“We’re with the Wolf Pack Personnel Authority. We’ve confirmed with the Wolfpack Gamma Resene that Grace is the deceased from yesterday’s high–rise fire.”
“Please accept our condolences.”
The blood drained from Sandy’s face as his hand trembled on the steering wheel His lips quivered as he stammered, “No… this can’t be true. Grace is only twenty–there! She can’t be dead. I’m a Gamma Warrior–I should have saved her!”
His wolf chimed, “You have arrived at your destination.”
Sandy’s heart pounded as he looked up, expecting to see the building where the fire had raged the day before. The broken windows on the eighteenth floor and the blackened walls told the grim story. When he confirmed my address, his knees buckled, and he collapsed to the ground.

This was the first time Sandy had ever lost control.
After a long moment of numbness, he returned to the scene. His eyes, glazed with shock, wandered to the bloodstains at the entrance. He identified the scent in the air that belonged to me, and at the same time recognized the trampled bracelet.
Sandy collapsed onto the corner where I huddled when I was burned., the realization finally hitting him. He closed his eyes in silence. When he opened them again, he was no longer a wolf who lost his mate, but a powerful and capable Gamma warrior, the calm and collected Sandy.
He went to the Wolf Pack Personnel Authority to claim my body, his motions methodical. He called my mother, delivering the heartbreaking news with stoic calm.
My father and mother fainted the first moment they learned the news. There was no way they could accept that their only daughter had died in a fire like that.
All of the pack’s political affairs were placed on the pack’s beta.
Sandy volunteered to take on the job of officiating my funeral.
His heart numbing further with every step.
No matter how my parents raged at him, how Lily tried to comfort him with her false sweetness, he
didn’t flinch. His face remained stone–cold, betraying no emotion.
People called him heartless, a monster for not shedding a single tear for his mate. Others said he
had loved too deeply, that the greatest sorrow was a heart that had died long before.
I’m the only one who knows that he’s going crazy.
